I used to know a kid in 6th grade that could run up walls and scale them like he was climbing on air. This kid would just run up to any wall, jump up, and propel himself upwards. The highest I ever saw him go and touch upwards was maybe 15 feet. He was like 5'5-5'7 just for references.

        Anonymous

He had like adhd or something. Last I him do it was like 7th-8th grade. I don't think I ever saw him again. Last time he had done it he had gotten less air though. Maybe just 10 feet.

Is it something you can only do if you're lightweight?

            Anonymous

I'm not sure. He was a skinny kid which helps but in theory if you have the muscle to offset a higher weight then you can probably do it too. Sort of like parkour, you don't have to be stick thin to do it.

I've never tried wall jumping in real life, but during lunch time in highschool I would try to learn parkour by learning how to jump off slanted surfaces. In the courtyard of the school there were these brick walls that had lights that I one day got the bright idea of using them as parkour training. My reasoning was that if I could jump off a slanted surface and not slip then in theory this would translate into wall jumping. Sort of like a videogame or an anime character. Kind of funny thinking back that I was a very shy kid but lacked enough self awareness to not realize that the courtyard had tons of windows so at any given time I probably had 100 something people watching me including the teachers trying and failing to jump off a light and onto the 3 foot(more or less) brick ledge. Eventually this skill came in handy when there was ice around the courtyard and I was the only one to not have trouble walking on it or slanted icy surfaces.
Plz feel free to ask any questions.

Yeah walljumping is one thing, but what about doublejumping?

I did that once in school and have told the story on here before.
          >be me
          >on my way to class
          >take same stairs I've taken for a year now
          >lots of people behind me and in front
          >about to reach the last floor where my next class is at
          >about to reach the final step
          >as I step on the last one I suddenly feel like I stepped on an extra step
          >doesn't even feel solid
          >feels like a bubble but theres nothing there just air
          >"the frick??"
          >all within a second I stepped on some "air bubble" and used it hop up to the end of the stairway
          >went back after class and school to try to retrace and count my steps to see if there was another explanation
          >nope
It wasn't very grand but still cool because it counts as a double jump. I basically stepped on a small air bubble that formed in a closed building for no apperant reason and I jumped up on it.

I used to “double jump” a lot when I was a kid

Tell your story friend. How was your double jumping experience?

I own a shotgun and spend a long time trying to learn to fire "from the hip" and after hundreds, maybe even thousands, of shells I was actually able to get pretty darn accurate with shooting without looking down the sights. Only issue is that it did not translate at all to other firearms and I really only got a hang of it with my shotgun.

      Tips /k/ommando?

        Anonymous

Lots of practice, really. A lot of it is about the muscle memory of holding the gun in a very similar position each time and just getting a feel of how your gun will shoot. It have some backyard targets and I started out by marking the same spot to stand aiming at the same targets in the same spot until I sort of understood it, then would step back further or move the targets, or I'd walk while doing it. With enough practice I was able to hold it in different positions (including right near my hip for some true 'hip firing') but it took a lot of weekends of going out and just shooting bulk russian ammo.

balancing on rails is surprisingly hard and stressful.
it's a lot harder than just balancing stationary on a rail.
that desperate jerking back and forth to adjust your weight is basically unavoidable. so sad we will never look cool while rail grinding.
