How the fuck would I play nethack without it?
vikeys
fpbp, playing roguelikes without a numpad is soulless
poser
BROTHER!!!!!!
You sicken me:wq

:qa! lost
I played Dwarf Fortress adventure mode without a numb pad, takes some getting used to using the row of numbers above the letters, but after some time it was a breeze
Or T.o.M.E.
Not for modern triple A goyslop.
i dont play videogames
A numpad is my second amendment right. Not my fault you "progressive" gays can't imagine a red-blooded American man needing to work with spreadsheets. You're free to use your gay "convenient" touchscreen keyboards but when SHTF just don't fuck around or you'll find out, LIBERAL.
>YOU CAN'T STOP ME FROM BUYING CHINESE BOTNET KEYBOARDS

Wat?

best layout coming through
oops forgot pic
best layout
I get you need your keyboard to be smaller to balance on your dystrophied thigh high sock wearing legs so you can get just the right pic to your discord sisters, but the vast majority of men don't require this from their keyboards.
You just outed yourself as an undercover chud. It's confirmed, you're a groomer and you're false flagging. I've caught you doing this before.
>no, you
These are nice on laptops (thinkpads have this style layout, I think) but I couldn't see myself using it a lot of pc. For me, it's 65% XT with a 20% on the left side.
where's the rest of this keyboard? is it broken?
>people who buy tenkeyless keyboards
the second n key is bound directly to the word moron, it's just an efficiency thing
>the second n key
I hate Americans so much
>Ñ
its actually amazing how many games with anything more than wasd controls use the numpad.
I use it every day while gaming. I don't get this meme.
>don't notice how much i miss the numpad until ti's gone
it's great when i use it
why these clowns think its feasable to remove part of the keyboard
They're chuds, they also think it's reasonable to remove part of their body to have a gaping axe wound.
And charge more for it, that's the worst part.
>he never played Test Drive 2
Let me guess, you are infinitely inconvenienced and bothered by an extra 3 inches of keyboard space
How do you type numbers if you're not using the numpad?
People that are too poor to afford a full-size keyboard don't understand numbers anyway.
keyboards get more expensive the less keys they have tho
I didn't use numpad before I had to type numbers in my workplace, took like 2 days to realize that numpad is the way to go.
>the part of the keyboard specifically designed for typing numbers is "the way to go" when typing numbers
I only used + to quick load and / to quick save in Deus Ex before that
>hotkeying quick load
you didn't beat it
It's hotkeyed by default zoom-zoom.
60% for life with a nice numpad on the right side of my mousepad for work.
I just purchased a 75% keyboard and an mmo mouse
gonna bind the side to 0-9, so I'll have everything I need right there.
No, but I need it for putting in my zipcode when ordering online. And doing my taxes.
A bunch of free shortcuts I can assign to anything, yeah. I do.
>Let me guess, you "need" this for gaming.
sure, you can bind whatever you want to those keys and have fun.
Yes.
Games with numpads that actually use the numpad keys are so god damned satisfying.
I know right? Love that shit.
the ones that make you click the numpad are dogshit though
if you have a numpad in your game and the numpad on the keyboard doesn't work with it you are an actual retard and should quit making video games because you simply don't get it
Don't believe in numpads?
It's all in the numbers
Not for vidya, but I need it for number inputs and quick math. Which are vidya-adjacent because I like making mods.
No I need it because I use Quickbooks at work.
More like QB Piece of Shit!! FACT!!!!!
nope, I use a 65% kb.
Formerly 41%
Nope. On my keyboard hitting the fn key and an number does the same thing. Great for activing trainer cheats
Yeah I use it for fighting games
Yes.
How do you actually use these actions? You play without a mouse? You leave the mouse everytime you need to access the numpad with the right hand? You use the right hand and leave the WASD comfort zone? Got a MMO mouse with bound numpad keys?
In mmorpgs i use numpad numbers for long duration buffs ( i remove hand from mouse) or niche settings for fast toggles
Not him but I have two side buttons on my mouse which are bound to alt and ctrl.
I can basically use 1-6, alt+1-6, ctrl+1-6 and alt+ctrl+1-6 without ever having to move my hands around too much.
If that's not enough, I can use q, e, r, t, f, x and y and their alt/ctrl variants aswell.
Binding alt and ctrl to your mouse side buttons is a great idea to multiply your available key inputs comfortably
morons, you can still bind numpad numbers to mouse whiout numpad on keyboard.
>Pay more to get less
Retards
making 3D models yes
>he doesn’t have his friend come over to play games on the same keyboard
Yikes I bet you just pass him a controller
When you become a boomer you will understand. As soon as you turn 30 you start liking games that make you do math, like factorio or kerbal space program. I even bought a mechanical keyboard with a key above the numpad that opens windows' calculator when you press it.
I turned 30 and gave up my Model M for a 50% ortho.
As soon as you stop pretending people will suddenly be anything like you then you can grow up fully.
I mean common gay, you have an old keyboard because your old, not because you turned 30.
I used that old keyboard because I'm old. It was only like 20 years old when I got it, now it's 34.
Spotted the autist. Not everyone speaks 100% literally. You're saying the same shit but with more words.
The calculator button is me of the best things on a keyboard.
damn right
I wonder if there's a better third party executable than the default calculator
ccalc
The calculator button is actually really nice. I have one on the keyboard for my work computer and I always miss it on my laptop
let me guess you NEED small shit memboards
are the output fans on the front panel?
I do. For some older games i use it for the "emote" buttons. For emulators i use it for the genesis buttons. In newer games i have quickbinds. For usual typing i use it for entering in data like a normal person.
What i dont get is removing it. Its the best way to enter in numbers quick. I hate laptops without the numpad.
couldn't you just use the F keys?
I will NOT pay MORE for LESS keys BITCH
Even if you use it, buying one without a numpad means only one thing: You pay more money for less options. Remember that.
i used to use the numpad for gba emulator (this was before controllers for pc were a standard)
for playing uplink
Yes.
>BioForge
fuck yeah
I play FFXI, so yes.
How the fuck am I going to toggle all the effects from Reshade without it?
No but for real, I don't understand why people get small sized keyboards. There is literally no downside to having a numpad, whereas by not having it you might need it one day and find yourself empty handrd.
I'm,
When I travel I'd rather have the option to have a separate numpad next to me than be forced to carry a longer width keyboard.
Oh well that makes sense but you still have a numpad
I'm talking about all the people who buy small keyboards and don't have numpads or F# keys
Like mine? Also easier for travel. Anything else is too bulky and annoying. Works great for at home as well.
>I don't understand why people get small sized keyboards.
Not everybody needs or uses extra bindings, or they already have another separate device for doing that.
Fucking love my Stream Deck, I switch profiles at-will so I can access literally everything I need and it's far more efficient than numpad.
These "stream deck" guys should hire a better marketing guy because you just made a shitty ass post and I'm not gonna buy your toy
I doubt you're still here but post your profiles anon. I need a good reference point to start
Nah, just for budgeting. And it's portable for budgeting on the go!
What's the problem you spam piece of shit? Keyboards with less keys cost more because of idiots like you. Why wouldn't I have a numpad?
I also use my gaming pc for work, so yes, i need it
calculator doesn't count as a game
yes it does, but 0 is zoomie bullshit and if you use it you're not a real mathlete
I enjoy manipulating markets in online games, and that means typing many numbers.
Also spreadsheets, fuck I love making spreadsheets.
I have picrel and a macro pad that doubles as a numpad for the one time out of the month I'd need to use it to handle finances. I don't understand why the numpad defense is out in full force itt. You can still get by fine with the num row. Anyone that says otherwise is just shit at typing.
>just buy two different products bro
Okay consumer.
Gaming PCs are luxury items.
So I will not waste my money, and instead buy myself a nice, good quality full keyboard.
>good quality
Why would you buy a "good quality" keyboard for a gaming PC instead of a custom built keyboard?
Why would I need a custom made one at all? It's a fucking basic input tool. I'm not looking to be special or join an exclusive club by neutering my goddamn keyboard of all things.
>he doesn't want the one peroferal he uses the most when interacting with his $3k PC to be specifically tailored for him
I'll never understand this mentality. It's like buying a sports car with fucked up pedals that you never fix because it costs money.
>peroferal
I'm not vain, if it works and feels good, then I'm happy.
>feels good
Then why are you arguing against using a keyboard that feels good? Membrane keyboards feel like absolute garbage.
In Canada milk comes in bags
Personally, using a numpad feels good.
Mine's a full-sized mechanical btw.
It's sour grapes. They're either too stupid or can't buy a nice keyboard, so they cope by trying to say you don't need more than the cheapest chink shit you could possibly own.
Same people who say you can't hear a difference between high quality headphones and $20 "gaming" headphones.
I do have a nice keyboard. It just doesn't have pastel blue and pink keys and isn't circumcised.
If it's not mechanical then it's not nice. If it is mechancial, then carry on. You're not one of the retards.
It's wierd because custom mech keyboards are more affordable than ever now with more features and better sound profiles out of the box. The slight learning curve one needs is apparently too much to ask for, though, so they just cope and seeth on Ganker
i don't like gimping my keyboard in the same way i don't like gimping my wallet to impress some morons with thousand dollar sneakers, and by the way,
>peroferal
Man if you're that broke why are you PC gaming? Also when did I say you should build a keyboard to impress anyone? Go be a poor, insecure gay somewhere else. By the way, mech keyboards come with 100% and 96% options too. Not that you could afford it.
>bro WHY'S YOU BROKE
thanks for proving my point retard
Luxury items are inherently a waste of money.
what the fuck is that, elvish?
Close, it's Japanese.
It's the same language you're reading right now.
>You can still get by fine with the num row.
You can get by without video games, or a lot of other things. "Getting by" is a p. low standard.
I don't need a numpad for 90% of shit I do on my pc. The times i need to press numbers are for random shit that takes 2 seconds like putting in a zip code or something. A numpad only makes this marginally faster. You act as if my entire pc experience is ruined by the lack of a numpad. My gaming experience is literally no different with or without a numpad.
What's up with zoomers and trannies hating on the num pad. I use it everyday for in Excel doing this thing called "work".
anyone using less than 100% is either a soiboi, a cuck, or a chud (or any combination)
no exceptions
No, I need it for work.
This is all you need for video games.
...Where's the enter key?
Left spacebar, duh
It takes a week or two to get used to, but after that you'll be back up to your normal typing speed, maybe more.
You might have issues going back to a normal keyboard at first, but eventually you'll just be fast on both. I can switch between the two without any problems now. Only took like a month of using it daily.
>Ortholinear
I don't know how you fuckers do it. I tried one at a local mech keyboard meetup and my wpm dropped by about half. Keyboard for fuckin aliens.
>keyboards for retarded moron gays
it's pretty important for the Build engine which has a lot of really important keys mapped to it. a while back I actually bought a usb keypad for that alone when I was into messing with eduke for a while
Why the fuck wouldn't i?
I've literally been using this same keyboard for like 12 years now. Hasn't let me down. Never felt the need for a number pad.
I use it for a few games. Mainly things like STALKER or Skyrim
what kind of retard enters numbers using the top row?
I love having a numpad, it's incredibly efficient for data entry and a requirement for games like roguelikes. That being said I don't understand why dudes get so fucking insecure and start foaming at the mouth when the see a 60% or smaller keyboard. They literally assume the stereotype of a dude in a F150 mocking someone in a prius, but in the niche nerdy context of PC accessories its even weirder and sadder.
It's mostly because it's so baffling to see people cut off a good chunk of their keyboard for seemingly no gain, and claim that it's better.
I don't know about others but I just got a 75% keyboard since I'm likely to do some traveling soon and I want to be able to play on muh deck with a keyboard without lugging a really large one around.
also I've always liked small stuff. small multitools, small cars, small guns, small keyboards. they appeal to me.
I figure I can just get one of those small side numpads if I find it especially annoying to lack.
yes and i also need it to quickly calculate the chance of OP being a gay
it's 100% btw
For hotkey use, yes, the rest of the time it helps me fill out spreadsheets faster when I'm doing my budget. If there's no numberpad, I will not buy it.
t. 41% keyboard owner
>willingly uses a bottom barrel keyboard to own the chuds
obsessed
What on earth is "Milk cover" supposed to mean?
My game keeps crashing and I'm fucking mad about it. I'm going to spam and shitpost and troll and post peoples personal info and be a real fuckin piece of work tonight.
>a CAD mouse with 3 mouse buttons is over $100
>a $30 G600 has those same 3 buttons AND a numpad on the side
>also has internal memory so you can use custom keybinds on work computer without having to get permission to install logitech gayman software on your work computer
Why isn't every mouse like this?
Because not everyone plays MMOs? I personally fucking hate the numpad. The buttons get in the way and wdd extra weight. I gladly bought the g pro x superlight though.
Get in the way of what exactly? How cramped is your desk?
The keypad is right where your thumb naturally rests. I'd accidentally press buttons with my thumb any time I got tense so I unbound them. Ironically, the only time I ever used the mouse's gaming features is when I was doing office work.
Why the fuck are you putting your thumb on the keypad then.
Because that's where my thumb comfortably rests when my fingertips are on the mouse buttons?
Don't deathgrip your mouse like you choke your cock holy shit. They're really rigid buttons what the fuck are you doing.
Does this moron know the people he's talking are talking about mice numpads?
>only option is wired
fucking why
>Have an old gaming mmo redragon
>Love the numpad for work, but it looks too gamey and want something more simple-looking, plus scared it might break soon
>Barely any good simple looking MMO mouses when i search for them
>See this
>Happy, check the prices
>All offers for g600 i can find are like 100$ minimum
I hate the world.
What mouse should I get, bros? I made the mistake of getting a Deathadder V2 and within 6 months the left click already feels strange when I click it (as in, still functional, but I feel a weird texture ‘underneath’ the clicker when I click that triggers my tism)
Unironically my favorite mouse design. I hate fat mice and I hate having all those stupid side buttons.
>Let me guess, you "need" this for gaming.
yes, I use them for hotkeys
I have big hands and always hit the numpad on accident when I RShift or Enter, so I prefer one without
What the fuck kind of keyboard are you using where the numpad is that close? A laptop?
Normal sized I guess??? For example I had this Logitech one for years and I couldn't stop bumping the numpad and the arrow keys
i have that fucking keyboard and the letters on the keycaps are already coming off after 3 years
bro there's a good 4-5 inches between the left half of the enter/shift key and the numpad. Are your fingers 6 inches wide?
The knife edge of my hand hits them. Like I said, they're big hands.
>he has chud hands
Ugh
What, do you think a PC is only for gaming?
yes, real gamers are spreaders. we spread all the time
>2 keyboard threads
nature is healing...
Where's the other one?
I want to post mine and get called a chud gay.
Rarely. But I do more on my computer than just play games because I'm not a fucking manchild
You can tell who the zoom zoomz are in this thread. Basically any of the old school war vehicle games made use of the numpad and there we're a bunch of them in the 90s and also the old ass flight simulator games as well
i am a productive person (white) so of course i need a keypad.
>not white
Now what?
Reminds me of a truly horrifying incident a few years ago.
I was just walking down the street, sun shining minding my own business when just at the other side of the street I saw a black man walking - and his master was nowhere to be found.
Shit is giving me the shivers to this day.
>Black
>no numpad, therefore not productive
heh
If you buy tenkeyless you're simply a normalfag obsessed with """aesthetic kino""" and the updoots on your r/battlestation reposts
Did I hear someone say "best layout" in here?
>playing games with your asscheeks
Yes, i need it. And let me guess chud, you need those led lights on your PC and keyboard, right?
Every time I've ever got something with tacky LEDs, it's because it was cheapest. 9/10 mechanical keyboards under $100 have LED lights. For a while, it was virtually impossible to find a GPU that didn't have lights in it.
yes, i fucking do, now fuck off
is x2 any better than x3 or x4?
if you play rpg maker porn games you 100% need it.
Gaming? No. Being an adult? Yes.
Of course, how else am I supposed to bind random shit in my plethora of Skyrim sex mods?
who the fuck build a pc for gaming only?
OP never played Sid Meier's Pirates. I feel sorry for him.
DF needs it kinda, well the old one did I don't know about the new shit version.
You can't execute "endmission" in Operation Flashpoint or Arma without the numpad minus.
This is critical for user made campaigns
Yes I play mmorpgs
It's convenient when I want to use it, which is at least a few times a week to input one time passwords and whatnot. Plus the 96% compact style is nearly the size of a TKL without sacrificing much.
I was thinking about getting a 96% but the layout just looks so off it bugs the hell out of me, also I feel like I'd fat finger some of the keys.
yeah FFXI is so much comfier with it
Yes how else am i gonna use my fling trainers
meant for
>not utilising the ins key
i'll kick your ass on slippi and we'll see who's keyboard wins gay
>just found out that I can scroll with the numpad
I'll keep the extra utility thank you very much
>let me guess you sneed chuck
Sus
I'm not buying another keyboard if my laptop already has one.
My arrow keys don't work so I'm using the numpad instead.
Retards use TKL
Normal people use 104/105
Mega brains use programmable 60%
Yes.
My keyboard has all the necessary keys.
Friend...
Friend!
That's for your extra keybinds. One key is for quick saving, one is for quick loading when you're playing New Vegas, those other keys are also for taunts or micspamming a soundboard in TF2. You don't necessarily need it but it does improve a lot of games tenfold.
If anything, I need more keys on my keyboard.
i use it on my spreadsheet.
This is all I need actually
Why would you need to spell ginger?
not ginger
I'd insert a picture here of an autistic taxi driver's setup his cab with hundreds of random buttons and keyboards and even a tv remote to fiddle with while waiting, but fucking assnuggets google can go suck a bag of dicks with how complete and utter shit it has become at its one job.
yes.
its the optimal way to play some clonk.
i dare you to say differently.
>Paying more for less
Is this the new hot thing?
sometimes you can do more with less
more like you need to press more to do the same thing
I can access any function and navigate from the home row. Function layers are objectively better.
>Ah yes let me press something to access a missing key
>Ah yes let me press another key again to access the original key again
>objectively better
You don't need a "copy" key you fucking retard, you push ctrl + c. It's exactly the same and can be done without moving your hand from the home row you brain damaged spack.
There's no copy key on a full keyboard you retard.
>too retarded to understand an analogy
you're actually brain damaged
Anon I'm just replying to your stupid analogy example no need to get upset. Also, read the reply chain.
It's a perfect analogy you brain damaged gay, you're too fucking stupid to understand it and demonstrated as much.
>function layers
>pressing fewer keys examples
>ctrl + c
I don't know anon you tell me.
You can't even articulate how you're lost. You're actually fucking brain damaged.
Accessing a function layer is as simple as holding ctrl and pushing another key you fucking moron.
It logically follows if the idea of accessing a function layer causes your brain to melt down, then the same applies to the ctrl key you fucking retard.
>Ah yes let me press something to access a missing key
>Ah yes let me press another key again to access the original key again
>objectively better
see
>I can access any function and navigate from the home row. Function layers are objectively better.
>function and navigate from the home row.
>from the home row.
>home row.
Yes, objectively better you brain damaged gay.
>Press more to do the same thing
>Objectively better
>taking your hand off the homerow when typing just to navigate or access some function when you can do the exact same thing quicker
>better
Your position is you're so fucking retarded the ctrl key filters you. I bet you fucking highlight text and right click copy you're so fucking retarded.
Damn why the fuck are people without numpads always retarded. Why cant you just accept you bought worse product for more money. Deal with it, you are fucking retarded.
How is being able to access all keyboard functions from the home row worse exactly?
Not this time
It's not inferior, it's a streamlined client-oriented no-nonsense experience.
>streamlined client-oriented no-nonsense experience
Sounds like a 60% keyboard salesman would say
post nose and eyelids because you're either a garden gnome or a chink
Not really, remember when Apple removed all the connections from their macbook and everyone followed suit? same shit
Let me guess you need these to get off?
I have the horse one and it amplifies my orgasm
Can I fuck your ass?
I've pretty much replaced it with the 12 side buttons on my mouse in its default profile. Call me a shill if you must, but holy shit does having 2 layers of 12 side buttons via the gshift make me unable to switch from a G600.
Still have the num pad on my keyboard, but it's seldom ever used nowadays.
back when keyboards didn't have n key rollover the num pad was the safest place to map controls that often needed to be pressed together on a controller. nowadays, nah you don't really need it
Yes I need those for OBS to record my pro gamer matches
yup
now walk the plank you limp-wristed scallywag, I bet you don't even know Baron Raymondo was spotted sailing from Port Royal
god I wish this didn't have to use the numpad so bad or allowed me to use my xbox controller even when it was ported to xbox it was far superior
I often use it for theorycrafting. I often use it for calculating numbers quickly. I often use it for entering passwords. I sometimes use it for oldschool games(8-direction). I often use it for ARPGs due to numlock auto-casting. I often use it for muting all audio + I often use it for stopping/continuing/skipping media since my keyboard has media keys right above. I often use the media keys(with modifier) to open things like calculator, notepad, etc.
I don't know how the fuck I would be able to live without all of these.
>NOOOOOO NUMPAAAADS I NEED THE EXTRA 5CM TO TOTALLY PWN IN LEAGUE OF gayS/APEX gayS/COUNTERSTRIKE gayS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
cs players already came up with a solution 2 decades ago
quake players put their keyboard on their lap
cs players = wearing a skirt with a vibrator up their ass so its irrelevent
i don't know what was going on with quake players but every straight male competitive gamer uses almost any mouse and keyboard or fightstick, cheers. the worlds best tf2 player could use some hr roasties supermarket pc and keyboard/mouse and demolish any cs player in their 10k gaming chair, cheers.
tf2 is a party game and was never competitive
cs is an aim trainer with added steps and only the truly delusional think it even has a skill floor let alone a skill ceiling, cheers.
I don't need to tilt my keyboard that much. Why would you need to do that? i use a big mouse pad like your pic related as well.
The ultimate form of a keyboard optimised for gaming already exists and is called a controller.
and yet controllers are so bad for gaming devs have to make the game play itself for it to be viable
Meanwhile controllers can't play RTS, MOBAS, FPS, etc.
>not knowing a lot of FPS games got controller support with aim assist, so it's even better than keyboard and mouse
>having to run by pressing the same stick im already using to move
>not being able to rebind the run button to anything else
nah i would rather stick broken glass down my urethra
haha optimized more like compromised
controllers are so fucking shit for fps when i was i kid i used to think all fps sucked until i used a mouse and keyboard
I use it all the time for an MMO I play.
>Let me guess, you "need" this for gaming.
YES
I hope you chudboard shills realize that by claiming you "need" that extra space you are just revealing you are completely gigasois with the shoulders of a small woman. A full sized keyboard should still be too little to be "in the way" of your mouse if you have an actual males shoulder width
>keyboard bros
>headphone bros
>camera bros
you don't have a real hobby. you have money and a lack of interests, or maybe low-functioning autism.
A lot of the utility keys should be reduced in size. That's how I'd deal with them. Again, if you really need a full size numpad, get a regular keyboard.
I prefer the top one honestly, my hands are pretty big, so I do actually need larger keys.
No, i need it for work you unemployed manchild
why would anyone want to deprive themselves with less function?
Everything should become smaller because, because it just has to! Ok?!
I need it all.
patrician taste
Actually yes. I'm playing Strive on the keyboard and I use the numpad for for PKSHS
But even if you don't play games using it, learning to use a numpad is a good skill to have.
Keyboards without numpad are a disgrace
I need less so I can get more.
Is that for like a DAW or something? What are all the knobs for?
It's a loupedeck live, so you can assign them to anything. I don't get much use out of them though.
TUTTI FRUTTI
Exactly, it's stuff like that I was after, feels so fun.
TUTTI FRUTTI bowl.
And it's a remote for my speakers.
why do you need that gay remote for your speakers?
Because they are active speakers.
Not following.
the radio in this scene of the little toaster is playing that song "tutti fruitti. oh rudy"
is that a fucking bowl of gummies?
what pisses me off the most about this image is your bowl of fake fruit, and your disgust Amazon remote nest to it.
i bet this poster gets a manicure every week
I do cut my nails and polish down the sharp edge so I don't cut my anus when I scratch it.
>epic games
It's for unreal engine.
Oooh yeah that song! I guess the name was never trademarked as many things use it now.
>tartarus v2
my bro
Better yet, the pro version.
I can't live without it. The idea of a device like it seemed useless, but it's proven to be amazing.
Honestly the best part of having a numpad is being able to hit the enter key with my right thumb. When you click something and a dialogue box pops up, just move your hand off the mouse and slap the enter key. Because of the vertical length of enter on a numpad, it's basically impossible to miss.
>need
No.
But you don't need K+M either. Touchpad works just fine. And why do you need so many buttons for gaming, anyway? Just use gamepad like all normal people, you nerd.
Oh, and even gamepad is optional. You don't need any buttons. Don't you guys have phones?
By the way, touchscreen is optional too.
Kinect is a way to go.
Small keyboard fags will never understand the feeling of entering long number strings using a number pad and feeling like you're a hacker from a 90's movie.
Not for gaming, no.
I play ”sims”, old PC games and emulated console games that need the numpad as it allows for diagonal movement with my right hand.
>people are actually defending function keys
bruh
>Filter a word
>Must refresh page
they're objectively better and break legacy games with their absence anyway, zoom
If smaller keyboards are superior, why aren't you texting on a dumbphone? It's got all the 15 keys you need for every input
>why aren't you texting on a dumbphone?
I text on my laptop when I can help it. I absolutely loath to use a virtual keyboard.
>15 keys you need for every input
It's not even remotely enough.
Can you show me typing 16 characters meaningless password on this thing?
Smartphone is the way it is because pros - namely the screen size - outweigh the cons.
never used this except for the old tomb raider games
Let me guess, you need less?
>LED RGBT
Yes, take that queer shit out.
i fucking hate hand ramp things. waste of desk space, also rbg and suck my dick.
Cunt I’m an accountant. I need it A. for my job and B. without it I can’t write it off as a work expense
i hate keyboard autists so much
literally chud tier mentally ill gays
DURR LOOK AT MY RETARDED 41% KEYBOARD DURR
you lost. get over it.
get good retard. I doubt you know what a hot key is
>have a keyboard
>buy a new one because it has less buttons
You can't explain that as anything but blatant consoomer
excuse me, pardon me, best keyboard coming through
Oi! Back of the line.
still have one somewhere that still works
loved the plug-in(s) for vent that told you who was talking
i use it for trainers
I've never needed it for gaming but I use it extensively for work on the same computer.
yes, how else would i activate the trainer
i fell for the TKL meme and i bought a second cheap full keyboard instead of an external numpad cuz they were the same price.
now i have two keyboards and my wpm skyrocketed!
apparently i do for flying vehicles in gta
Fastest buy menu for Counterstrike
I have giant freak gorilla hands so anything smaller than a full-sized keyboard feels very cramped. I rarely use the numpad, though.
Yep. I can't adjust to anything else.
Yes I do, my buy binds for CSGO
//buy binds
bind "KP_END" "buy ak47; buy m4a1;"
bind "KP_HOME" "buy awp;"
bind "KP_PGUP" "buy ssg08;"
bind "KP_UPARROW" "buy mp9;buy mac10"
bind "KP_DOWNARROW" "buy famas;buy galil"
bind "KP_LEFTARROW" "buy deagle;"
bind "KP_RIGHTARROW" "buy p250;"
bind "KP_5" "buy fiveseven;buy tec9;"
bind "KP_MULTIPLY" "buy vesthelm;buy vest"
Yes. I play a game that has 12 hotkeys for chat and I need to press them without looking at the keyboard even for just a millisecond.
No I need this for after when I game so as to make money to buy more games and afford this hobby you stupid fuck.
>not using the numpad for soundboards and earrape
Yes, I do in fact need it.
Mein Black
Yes, it's by far the best way to fly a plane/helicopter in a videogame if you don't have a joystick
Yes, how else I'm gonna fly in San Andreas?
No, but for work.
Small keyboards for gays and trannies
Hey I use the numpad for wemod
I use them everyday.
My 80% was cheaper
I don’t give a fuck
My computer at work has a numbpad
I don’t need a numbpad at home
Yes.
?t=171
I use a $120 Leopold TKL and an official Microsoft Number pad. What's nice about the numpad is that you can use it as a macro. Customize it to custom inputs based on the specific application. Very useful.
One downside is that it goes to sleep very quickly. You have to press the buttons then alt+tab away for it to start working once its gone to sleep.
I would need it now for for annoying other players with mic/bindspamming. But I don't have it anymore because I was dumb enough to get a tkl some years ago.
What else would you use for 8-directional movement?
>rebinding the keys
heh nothing personnel kid
I haven't used a numpad a single time in gaming outside of some random mod shit. I hardly even need one at work. I built a tiger 80 specifically for just so I didn't have to use the shitty dell office keyboard they gave everyone.
Please for the love of god someone post a good full wireless keyboard, they're impossible to find and Ganker can only get mice right
Zoom TKL has bluetooth. That feature is pretty uncommon in the custom keyboard market for some reason.
I'd like to have the numbpad too
Looks pretty good, might check this out
Keychron K10 Pro
>bluetooth
Is that good enough for gaming or do I want one with 2.4ghz dongle.
I need all the keybinds for modded minecraft, bitch.
Yes, I need it to read fighting game inputs.
Yes?
>have one of those compact Logitech key oards that cramps everything that dimensions are like a tenkeyless keyboard
>after years of using the D key won't always respond
Is there a way to fix this?
yes how the fuck else am i going to play the king's field 1 remake for pc?
I'm not a basement dweller, I need those for work.
But "working" probably is a concept out of your world, if you had the audacity to create this abomination of a thread.
Give me 1 reason to buy mechanical kb
dont, get one that has rubber dome keys. much more comfy. just dont get one that doesnt allow you to press more than two bttons at a time. my cheapo one i got doesnt let me strafe and change weapons in pubg or run and cast spells in wow
>allow you to press more than two bttons at a time
Is there a searchable term for this?
anti ghosting i think its known as
n-key rollover
I'm left handed this is my goto setup.
dude, why don't you snort coke on your smartphone instead of your numpad?
i use the arrow keys for movement, i kinda need those extra few keys right next to them
It took me so long to transition from arrow keys plus keyboard shooting to WASD + Mouse. Soldier of Fortune is what finally convinced me after trying the controls at a friend's house. Remember those awkward years before WASD was fully adopted and every second game had their own weird controls. A and Z being jump and crouch on Duke Nukem 3D was so strange.
Yes
u do if u want to fly in gta v
keyboard and mouse is for work
Video game controllers are for video games
simple minded people like you are the problem with society, some stuff can have dual purpose.
Like a weapon that can either shoot to kill or shoot to protect, or a car that can go from A to B or drive over CIA morons like you.
this. playing red dead redemption i use the controller for travelling but use the keyboard and mouse for gun fights. dead aim is a bitch, bitch.
That's why video game controllers include fake guns and steeringwheels, KBM is for poor people that can't adapt to new control schemes.
>yes I am American how could you tell?
Yes you fucking scrub
I have this brick
and it just works
forgot name Akko 3108DS
I hate how even full size keyboards now a days put the audio controls on the fn keys. Brightness and movie controls? Sure who cares, but you have to constantly readjust audio so often now a days than fning them is annoying.
When it comes for gaming, numpad is optional to be fair but I need it because I dont use my pc only for gaming. Any program outside of gaming makes use of that pad. Also removing it as a new standard, is bullshit in my opinion
if you take keys off my board I will not buy, simple as
yes
t. elona player
I use my computer for more than just videos games, gay.
I like inserting crazy characters into text chat so yes.
i do and even if i didn't, i need it for other things and there's literally no reason not to have it
>he calls the numpad "tenkey"
I entered this thread because I knew it was a joke thread, but holy fuck, some of you gays actually get triggered by some people preferring smaller keyboards huh? Never change you magnificent retards.
>some of you gays actually get triggered by some people preferring smaller keyboards huh?
I just don't get the tenkeyless meme, nor do i want to ever get it. I've been playing games on this keyboard layout since i was a kid and i don't want to relearn my hand positions while typing and gaming. And there is real use cases of the numpad from time to time.
They are lesser people and the fact that they are posting on the same board offend me.
How else do I move diagonal?
How else would I triforce in the triforce game
trust me, you actually do. i bought the mini keyboard shit and boy oh boy did i miss my keypad real quick lol. back to big keyboards for me kiddies, youll find out sooner or later
I do because I use the mouse with the left hand and rebind most if not all keys.
i don't remember posting this but this is me.
>so many fucking games won't let you rebind num pad, ins/home/del/pgup/pgdn, backspace, etc
>patch resets your controls
it hurts
i play Tekken with wasd and numpad, so i kinda do need it
If you use anything less than a 100% keyboard you are not 100% a man. Literally cutting down on functionality for "aesethics" and space. What space niggy? YOu are shit at FPS I know you aren't fucking aiming or likely even playing them with your 60% ass having keyboard. Anyone with those keyboards probably plays sims and the occasional game of solitaire.
>paying for an unfinished product
Why?
i unironically used the numpad and the direction keyes on my keyboard to play all the classic resident evil games because i couldn't be arsed finding my controller
i use it for my soundboard keybinds
Anyone know if the unicomp model M's are decent? i just want to type on something similar to a model M again and i don't want to spend a lot of money on it. People charge too much for them onlline and i just want to go back to buckling spring without spending retarded amounts of money to buy what was always essentially a cheap keyboard. Cherry MX doesn't feel as satisfying to use.
I have a mini-m and I love the thing for typing
Gaming is hit or miss, tf2 is rough because I can't press s+d+space because lol 2kro
I'm a left-handed mouser who uses arrows for movement
Numpad Insert is my Jump button
wouldn't it be more efficient to use 5 1 2 3 on the numpad for movement because you'd have the surrounding buttons for other actions?
Its much easier to feel the buttons out when you're centering your scheme on the arrow keys
only trannies use numpad when gaming
i can't be the only one who manages his life, investments, and budgets using a spreadsheet? it's like 20 extra keys, why are you people so mentally ill?
Trannies get upset even when you think the wrong way, there's no winning with these "people".
Marketing people behind TKL keyboards are honestly genius, not only they're selling you less keyboard for more money you also defend these shitty ass products on the internet FOR FREE.
Steve jobs is rolling in his grave.
Can we talk about the default arrow key setup in MOBAs like Dota and Warcraft, where by default to move the map you have to move your mouse to the edge of the screen? I have my MOBA camera keybind set to WSAD but is there seriously a giant population of players who move their mouse to the edge of the screen to move camera and back to center screen click creeps or heroes?
It's nice to have some keys to assign to random stuff that are unlikely to be used by anything else. Pretty safe to assume that nothing's going to use "numpad 7" as a hotkey.
I use an Apple wired keyboard, which has the added advantage of having F13 through F19. Most keyboards don't have those, so again it's very unlikely that they'll already be assigned to anything.
No, I need it for work. The number pad is a tool for people that do work on their computer.
>No, I need it for work
you have numbers on top.
Yeah right lemme just type out all that shit across the number strip. Now I'll repeat that process several hundred times instead of using the number pad to just quickly punch shit in.
Unironically yes if you're playing a traditional rougelike.
It's perfect for DROD
I use it for spreadsheets and photo editing. Also, I guess I could in MSFS too.
>you WILL buy the shitty chinese cut down keyboards that have knockoff switches and cost 5x the cost of a normal keyboard
i only ever see retarded asian zoomers shilling this shit
what the fuck is wrong with them
The only time i needed the numpad was when i was playing black desert online and i was listing things in the market like a walls street accountant.
I need it for piloting helis in GTA
Yes
Lol morons in these thread are retarded. I buy the cheapest keyboard with numpad available. Now kys you chud sissy's.
poorfag
i bet you have like a gtx 1660 or something too LMAO
>ditch the numpad to build a custom keyboard with my little brother since he was into that at the time
>get into MMOs again like a few months later
Worst decision of my life.
It took a while to get used to not having any spaces between key groups, but now that I am I love it.
Plus, anyone without a tenkey is an underage or a programmer sock wearing gay.
You may not like it but this is what peak performance looks like
>one key away from f25
shamefur display
use it for choosing classes in tf2
Every keyboard I used since the 90s came with one so why not
just switched from a tenkeyless to this, besides the funky fn keys it's actually kinda nice and lets me procrastinate even more while I WFH
Let me guess, you play with this much mouse space.
Not referring to OP by the way
My office table is 2 meters wide, I have 2 screens and plenty mouse/keyboard space. How do spacelets even breathe?
I find 96% to be a decent compromise
>two row enter key
A fire; die in one.
I like iso 🙁
I love these threads. All of a sudden Gankerirgin NEETs instantly become accountants and whatnot as soon as they see a TKL.
I already have one. I built a tkl for my job too :^)
How else am I supposed to use OSex?
Yes you fucking chud stop trying to cut damn everything like your dick off
4 flips
5 ollie
6 grabs
8 grind
proper way to play tony hawk games
I use it for macros because why not
Everyone that disagrees with op will demand that you have a cassette player in your car.
>casette player
it pulls mad pussy althoughever
>cassette player in your car
cars that have that nowadays are pussy collectors
Tkl is a best layout, numpad sucks dick makes keyboard too long, but 60% sucks dick too because having arrow keys and f keys behind option button is retarded
How come it's getting harder to find a good 100% keyboard?
Numpads aren't as useful for the average person as the contrarians itt would have you believe. That being said, the wind x98 is a personal favorite of mine as far as full size keyboards go.
what else do you need?
needs rainbow rgb
no i need it for doing taxes like an actual useful member of society, not a leech.
alphabetical chads, where you at?
100% keyboard with individual media keys
anything less is for people who wash their clothes in a bathtub
for me? it's Minority Report
gaming controls havent evolved in like 20 years and somehow people just accept it. Having paddles on the back of the controllers only recently became a [niche] thing despite us having at least 4-6 fully functional fingers that go completely unused in games that already struggle with overcrowding controls
(VR is still a meme, I own a headset)
>movie called gamer
>opens with the line "we live in society"
truly, it was ahead of its time
oh, i dunno then i'm not gay
Absolutely. If I didn't have this hotkeys binding options would have run out a long time ago
>custom keyboards
chud-core as hell
>Custom PCs
chud-core as hell
