It's Actually Happening Edition.
Voice actor for Raiden teasing upcoming Metal Gear announcements in the coming weeks in a response to somebody mentioning MGR2 for Rising's 10th anniversary.

Potential leaks: Anon from almost 2 years ago mentioning an upcoming "Metal Gear Revelry". New Raiden game made by Konami Production Team 8 (Metal Gear Survive devs) and some ex-Platinum employees, far along in development.

I hope it's a remaster for Switch
>>J-just buy a Steam Deck
No I won't
>begging for a sub-30fps port
????
Tendies are desperate for anything
>Best selling game in every market in the world
>more games than any other system
>Desperate
Nah, they're just the only platform that hasn't succumbed to graphixhomosexualry.
Mgr run at 60 fps on ps3 moron switch can easily run that at 60 as well.
Switch is stronger than the platforms it first released on.
You'll get your switch port with added master sword and maybe a few other Nintendo blades and you will like it.
The only sub here is you, I can't imagine being a talentless smooth brain geek who lets FPS changes bother him. Get better eyes.
Weak bait
>Playing shitty switch controlls and buying it again is better
lmao moron
I hope it's a remaster for the ps4/ps5
>Voice actor for Raiden
Lol he was cancelled for sending actually pretty cringy lewd voice messages to girls
>hey, youre pretty good
Wrong character, secondary
He got uncancelled when he proved himself innocent in court
Aren't you thinking of Vic Micnogna? All Flynn did was some cringeworthy consensual ERP. The leak was embarrassing but nothing that would get him fired.
No, the girl who leaked that stuff made up a bunch of lies and harassed his wife and shit. Court gave her a restraining order.
Those Ganker threads discussing the leaks were so funny
>but nothing that would get him fired
Didn't stop blizzard from immediately recasting and dubbing over all his lines in WoW
We've gotta wait and see if Square drops him too
thats because blizzard is infested by trannies that are trigger happy about canceling
Well yeah, it's Blizzard.
I'm still mad Vic lost.
Once someone is labeled as "cancelled", it doesn't matter what the actual, literal law says. "Cancelling" someone on the internet matters more, especially for companies. They'd rather fire someone even if they were found completely innocent in a court of law because they don't wanna be perceived as bad guys.
and that's illegal?
morons like you are why false accusers should be publicly raped as punishment to warn other prostitutes not to pull this shit
This is why I doubt the leaks as badly even as much as I want MGR2. Even if you’re proven innocent it’s hard to get unblacklisted or to get back. Even more so for VAs I imagine.
I think Flynn is a different case than Vic, as he had a lot more support in the industry.
Kris Zimmerman (the voice acting director of EVERY english MG games) did had him absent from No More Heroes 3. But this was during the controversy and not after. and Zimmerman even followsh im back on social medias.
Flynn had a bit of a hiatus but he is back in the industry now, being in the new Bleach show https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0283594/
They should've added him back in as bait for double dippers when they ported NMH3 to new platforms last year.
Henry having a different voice wasn't an absolute deal breaker for me, but I lost a lot of respect for Suda.
Almost as much as when I actually played 3 and saw there were no real levels before boss fights. You just fight in the same 3 arenas over and over.
I never double dipped and waited for the PS4 port because I hate Nintendo and I liked the prospect of paying less for NMH3 without Flynn. He really should've been in there though.
>Almost as much as when I actually played 3 and saw there were no real levels before boss fights. You just fight in the same 3 arenas over and over.
Frick I hated this. I get that the open world maps were meant to accomodate for that but they really didn't. NMH1 is still the only game in the series with an open world, full levels and their boss battles which is insane to me. I still loved NMH3 though but it's definitely the weakest in the series. 1 and TSA are my favorites.
>1 and TSA are my favorites.
Based. TSA doesn't get enough love.
If Suda had just tried to make one game and fused 3's combat with TSA's structure and story, you could've had a game that might've surpassed 1.
For sure! TSA felt like the Ground Zeroes to NMH3's Phantom Pain. An incredible prologue to an underwhelming sequel.
You think we'll get an NMH4 anytime soon? I'm hoping for Hunter to take on the protagonist handle. Then again Travis achieved immortality thanks to the silver eye so he'll probably look exactly the same even at 42.
>You think we'll get an NMH4 anytime soon?
I severely doubt it. The IP is co-owned by Marvelous. Suda had to license it just so he could self-publish TSA and 3. That alone was probably a huge headache. Now you have to also factor in that Grasshopper got bought out by the Chinese bugmen ironic and will have to dance to their whims, which likely means leveraging IP they actually have free access to. Expect either something new or a Silver Case thing.
Dude, this is Konami, they're infamous for stalking their employees and everyone is aware of this.

Perfect for the role, raiden is canonically a sex pest
>proof is some moron schizo post on Ganker
HAAH
WAAW
No the proof is Quinton Flynn teasing it in a tweet, moron. Learn to read.
Why even bother mentioning your own shitpost from years ago, gayass? To pad your bullshit?
>Ganker is one person
Meds. Take them.
Explain your post, you homosexual piece of shit.
What post? Who do you think you're talking to?
Stop samegayging, you homosexual c**t. Why even link to your own garbage schizo post from years ago? You're a waste.
You've lost your mind.
>Get blown the frick out
>y-you're crazy! I didn't even say anything
You make me retch.
It's gonna be the anniversary edition. Remember this post for it will happen.
if I can finally play bladewolf and Sam with new outfits in the base game, and if it can lead to a MGR2, i'm all for supporting it.
This is the same company that announced a "Metal Gear Solid V Definitive Experience" that didn't even put Ground Zeroes and Phantom Pain in the same .exe, and you think you're getting Sam in the main game?
I'll take what I can get.
if this turns out to be another remaster i'm gonna take four shits and die
A few years ago I would be over the moon for this rumor but now I believe Rising magic was lightning (kek) in a bottle and impossible to repeat
agree i highly doubt they can replicate how awesome that game was, much less improve it but who knows maybe they will but i would't hold my breath
a MGR2 directly by PG + Konami is more likely, even if i'd kill for a MGSR revival.
Kenji Saito, director of MGRR, said he want to make a MGR2 (after directing the abomination of Babylon Fall, I swear, what the hell happened)
and the writer, Etsu Tamari, is still at Konami and thanked fans for making MGRR popular again last year.
But I would not be surprised if Konami does another Silent Hill situation with many project announced. We know from a guy at Konami and exKojipro staff that they worked in the last few years on many project (in general, not just MG) that were never announced due to being canceled, they confirmed just yesterday this happened with the Silent Hill franchise post PT.
>(after directing the abomination of Babylon Fall, I swear, what the hell happened)
After seeing the first trailer for Babylon's Fall with the slow-mo skill that would never work in co-op, I am 80% certain Babylon's Fall was not supposed to GaaS and got fricked by being turned into one mid development.
This concept art of Survive is rad and really shows they wanted to do more before being restricted by the budget, metal gear acid 1 got a similar situation too. The guy at the bottom reminds me of the Chico concept art of MGSV.
I blame square enix.
Kojima didn't wrote shit in MGRR. A MGRR staff last year even complained about people crediting the game to Kojima, even the main producer wasn't Kojima, it was Yuji Korekado. (who people shat on for producing Survive, if they knew how much he did for the franchise...)
MGRR writer is Etsu Tamari (still at Konami too)
But I would be more interested to other kind of spin offs, more wacky shit exploring different genre, Korekado was interested in seeing this too. Hell, playing a metal gear hunting other metal gear, that would be rad.
Rising has the shitest plot ever. You don't play the game for the story.
I remember those early trailers looked interesting, then there was no news for a while and suddenly it became a coop live service game. Shame.
>I blame square enix.
Platinum's CEO seems very enthusiastic about making live service games though.
Forgot to reply to
>painfully basic hack n slash game carried entirely by presentation and music
do you really want that again?
I'd rather play it instead of the majority of Platinum games it has the best boss battles for sure.
>implying they WOULDN’T improve upon the combat
Dude they definitely would. One of the most common criticisms of it was how incredibly basic it was, and considering how PG has made some pretty in depth h&s games before I don’t doubt they could pull it off. Though I do fear MGR was just lightning in a bottle.
you obviously played the game on normal which is basically easy mode
Yes, it's the only good Platinum game.
>No Kojimbo
However... no.
>do you want an overall good game with some basic gameplay
yes
Supposing the game is actually real, it has a 0% chance of being good. MGR was lightning in a bottle
Metal Gear Rising is a homosexual game for the kinds of not-men that unironically watch and enjoy tranime over the age of 8.
Anyone that enjoyed it or is looking forward to a sequel deserves to have their eyelids sliced off and their legs broken while their eyes cook in the desert sun and they’re forced to listen to “STANDING HERE I REALIZE” on repeat every 4 seconds.
t. captain manboobs
Found the tranime lover.
At what age did your father realize he raised a homosexual and not a man? Or did you have a father in your life, tranime lover?
You're trying way too hard it's funny
>trying
I’m not trying anything, you tranime loving homosexual.
You’re an adult “man” that loves tranime and Metal Gear Rising, a game about a queer playing MacGuffin keep away with his rogues gallery of tooty fruity butt pirates as they hiss and pose against a backdrop of some of the gayest music ever made.
You deserve to be tortured in hell like the subhuman homosexual you are. There is nothing about your life worth preserving, and your death will be as funny to the world as it is sad and lonely to you.
TLDR you're clearly underage
t.
I love the baits and butthurts.
It's a video game Anon relax.
Don't cut yourself on that edge, kid.
The irony of the most juvenile and edgy post I've seen in months daring to call others "not-men".
thanks for the laugh
>“STANDING HERE I REALIZE”
this says more about you than you think, zoomzoom.
Even if it's actually happening i doubt it'll be as great as the first one without Kojambo's batshit writing
Kojima didn't even write MGR how many times do we need to explain this to zoomers?
Well, that's good to know
After Bayo 3 id rather keep Platinum as far from the writing department as posible
Tamari wrote MGRR. Not platinum games. Cutscenes were by Kobayashi at Konami too. Both still are at Konami.
PG really only handled the gameplay of MGRR and a few design.
Both Kobayashi and Tamari did say they modified their style a bit for MGRR to fit more the style of PG. Both usually do more serious stuff. (the canceled MGSR was extremely dark, enough to be almost unreleaseable in some countries according to staff, and Kobayashi was also directing the cutscenes of Survive which were less wacky.)
>without Kojambo's batshit writing
Kojima had nothing to do with the writing of Rising, you can tell because when characters start doing their long TED talks it's actually entertaining instead of annoying.
Kys doatroony.
Kojima had nothing to do with Rising, that was all Platinum
Etsu Tamari, the writer, was a Konami employee.
It's funny that Platinum's best written games(MGR and Nier Automata) both had outsourced writers. Platinum really can't write for shit on their own.
You kidding me? MGR was easily the best game in the series since Snake Eater, and Kojima barely had anything to do with the final product.
Kojambo didn't write MGR though.
>Bloodtroony zoomer is moronic
wow
>Inb4
metal gear rising revengance: definitive edition
>uproar about Quinton Flynn
what, did he diddle a kid again?
>Konami actually doing something with Metal Gear
I'll believe it when I see it
fun thing: Survive had design reused from the canceled MGSR game.
But in a big case of irony, most of them got cut AGAIN in Survive. They were finished but for some reasons never were added in the game beside a few dummy files. This includes multiple cyborg bodies.
The only one that managed to make the cut is Miami PMC armor, slightly redesigned by one of the MGRR artist.
a new MG game, MGRR or else, could likely reuse those again. Korekado and Tamari themselves really wanted to revive the old MGSR project as the project was canceled against their wish by Kojima (who wasn't handling the project but he was vice director of Konami at the time + didn't wanted to see them struggle + I suspect he wanted more staff available for MGSV)
I'm starting to believe that new Rising might really be a thing.
I can only imagine it would be closer to the original concept, and thus people would complain that it's not real Rising because of no wacky Polish prime minister man or memey lines.
if MGSR is revived, it would be a MGR2. Tamari and Korekado said so in the past, saying "if they try it again, it be by themselves"
PG even really wanted to reuse the MGSR story for MGRR, but Tamari was apparently extremely sensitive about that, telling Platinum Games that their gameplay style do not fit at all for the theme of MGSR. so he made an entirely new story.
A guy who worked on both MGSR and MGRR said "MGRR was fun, but it was shit compared to MGSR, which was a masterpiece.", Korekado also said "MGSR had some of the best boss of the franchise" and even post MGRR, he still was mad about the OG project being canceled.
Survive has interesting possible meta messages.
>Game starts with a team that lost their boss in complete chaos.
>Some people are brought in another project, having to make a team a bit in chaos
>this tape
>the end of the game is the player character accepting he can't go back to the past, and instead need to work better with the new home he got. the final message of the game is a character saying "we will build a better future" after literally retconning out of existence all the events of Survive
I think the staff wanted to play a bit with how Survive was hated by fans, but most people ignored this.
it would not be a MGR2*
Ddid a typo, oops.
lol imagine thinking something nice would happen.
recently the same thing happened with TF2 where the community sperged out because one of the voice actors said he had "big news" and it turned out he was just going to a convention or some shit.
A metal gear VR project also is pretty likely, both Noriaki Okamura (more known for directing/writing ZoE but he also had roles in many MG games) and Yuji Korekado said they had big interest in VR. Okamura even saying he want VR to becomes bigger in the industry and 2023 to be "the year of VR gaming)
it would be really great to get a second game. or even a beefed up remaster (japs are kinda crazy when it comes to re-releases). 5th, 6th and even the 7th gen were such great times and MGR had a big part on why i think about it so positiviely. i'm so fricking sick of this shitty western-dominant era of vidya. about time we're having a paradigm shift.
With Konami back the big five are all back up again (Konami, Sqaure, Capcom, Namco, Sega). As far as i'm concerned they are the definition of vidya. always have been, always will be. i hope for the best
I'm not expecting to become like in the past, but if they can be better, i'm all for them trying.
I think people should give them chances of releasing project beside always yelling in the cloud for things that happened almost 10 years ago mixed with actual misinformation...
I kinda got what a nice "we're back" gift from them with Bomberman R Online. If the second game is good then i'd say i'm happy with what they are today. Worst case the 64 battle royale game will carry it.
Also Master Duel. I am obsessed with Master Duel. They can take their sweat time with Metal Gear
>7th gen
>great time

you can only do so much when your own country turns more and more into smart phone morons and stops buying home consoles. they still had some sweet games
>AYO BROWN AND PISS QTE WALKIE TALKIE SECTIONS REGENERATING HEALTH HIDE BEHIND COVERS

name 1 japanese game that goes like that. yea your mutt games were always trash. i'm talking about REAL vidya. who gives a frick about what your Hollywood rejects did or do
you weren't there
>i'm so fricking sick of this shitty western-dominant era of vidya
>literally jerks off over an era when japs were trying their best to copy west and get cowadooty numbers
Do mgrtrannies really?
Nothing will be back until Ridge Racer 8 gets made.
and only if it's like Type 4
PSP Ridger Racers was great too.
MGR2 would be fun.
but MGA3 is where the real shit is.
ghost babel 2 never ever despite the teasing at the end of the first game too... at least Survive knew it was standalone and did everything to makes a sequel for it impossible.
Like really, I don't like mobile games, but a metal gear acid 3 on that could really work.
Not gonna happen because Quinton Flynn got cancelled, he is just coping and became a senile boomer.
I doubt Konami cares about trannies whining on Twitter
He got uncanceled.I believe, many MG staff member even defended the guy.
Konami still works very much in studio culture, the guy who makes Bomberman beside a few shared staff are not the one on YuGiOh.
Metal Gear studio is production studio 8, which is in truth, the old Kojima Production. It never was disbanded, they just lost their names and a few staff.
Beside Survive, they mostly worked on the the collection projects, the PCengine mini, and Castlevania Grimoire of Souls (with a few CV veteran to help them) + Support on ZoE2MARS with Cygames (who also used old kojipro guys who left to work at Cygames)
neat, thanks for the info
i just mentioned Yugioh as a general output from Konami. They got games i really like and i hope it won't end there. japs need to be back again
see
>Believing a Ganker shitpost
Why are you morons like this?
>Why are you morons like this?
Because even if it's fake its still fun to humor it and pick it apart for potential inaccuracies and cross-examine it with new information to see if its more legit or fake than previously thought.
>leaks DMC5
>leaks that V is Vergil
>Nobody believes him even after the announcement
This will never not be fricking funny.
Don't forget how a few days before the trailer, there was screenshots of DMCV in some kind of leaked article, and people were calling it bullshit. is there still screencaps of that?
>is there still screencaps of that?
Yeah this was the image that was going around a month or so prior to announcement. It originated from here, the reactions were hilarious with hindsight.
>Nero has a demonic arm not a robot arm.
>Bottom pic is clearly Scalebound guy
>The design of the Sparda sword is wrong
>They wouldn't use the Resident Evil 7 engine for DMC
don't forget "it looks like Donte"
I remember being really worried because Dante looks like he has a full beard. thank god it's just stubble in the game
Cutting (heh) beard Dante was clearly a pretty last minute change, in the game after the timeskip his hair has grown noticeably longer but his beard length has barely changed at all kek.
hindsight is always 20/20
MGgays are no better than Castlevaniagays
Your life will be a lot happier if you just learn how to let things go and move on
I'm always open to see new vison of both franchise. Even if they takes a while.
Kojima himself never wanted MG to end without him. It's fans who keep thinking this.
Similarly, Kojima likely would prefer a MG game that dares new things even if extremely different, while many fans only call for remakes. it's interesting how the will of the fans and the will of the staff can clash.
Is Raiden DPS or Tank?
You eat poop
Metal Gear Online 4 will be done due to one branch of Konami banking on esport and """metaverse""" shit.
But what i'm interested is if Konami Amusement, the arcade branch, tries to do another Metal Gear again. They did Metal Gear Arcade a long time ago.
Imagine if they use the bombergirl format to make a PVP MG games where you play as cute girls...
It's going to be a collab with the guy who does Senator Armstrong on Cameo where they do meme lines for MGR's 10th anniversary and act out a scene in a video. Stop getting hype for Konami announcements you fricking moronS.
more likely this even if I still think MG will return, it's not yet the time for it.
He specifically said announcements though, even if it's just a remaster that would still be good news.
Reliable spanish leaker has already confirmed we're getting a Metal gear showcase soon just like with Silent Hill.
Leakers should never be trusted + Spanish people piss me off. But I think Konami doing that one day is not impossible.
>Spanish people piss me off
Que te jodan
Well if it's any better you also have a literal MGS producer teasing that 2023 will be a year of many long-awaited announcements in Famitsu.
https://www.gameinformer.com/2022/12/30/metal-gear-solid-producer-says-2023-will-be-a-year-of-many-announcements
me too and im spanish
>showcase
as opposed to just a single announcement, or? regardless, there's very little that Konami could release that would actually interest me on the subject of Metal Gear games. Rising 2 might be one, and fox engine remakes of the whole series would be neat, obviously mg 1/2 included, but even then that means a whole ton of erasing the best mgs song.
>New Raiden game made by Konami Production Team 8 (Metal Gear Survive devs)
into the fricking trash it goes, don't care
a-anon, 90% of the Survive team is OldKojipro. Most stayed at Konami.
Survive just had a small budget like all MG spin off beside MGRR. But unlike the previous smaller spin off, it wasn't on handheld.
And frick, Survive was fine.
>And frick, Survive was fine.
Survive was fine and had some neat ideas but I'm glad it flopped because Konami's shitty fingerprints were still all over that thing, so much of the game just felt like a fricking slog designed to pad out playtime in the hope that you'd buy some of their microtransactions. Very "cynical" design choices imo. I just hope its failure means that the devs have more creative freedom for the next Metal Gear, and hopefully some of the cool fan-service makes it over as well.
the main situation with Survive is that the game was designed as a multiplayer only game at first, the single player wasn't planned. it was done in the 2017-2018 delay.
It explains why most of the core gameplay is found in salvage missions, why some of the AI feels weird in the open world (they were not made to be used in the open world), why almost all characters are reused models from MGSV...
Even Korekado said the game was developed like a metal gear online, almost all the MTXs are stuff from MGO2. A pvp mode was planned but also cut (with a few other things like weapons, gears and a 3rd boss creature)
Okamura also was the creator of ZoE. As much I love MG , i'd love it to be a new ZoE project as many staff including him said even back in 2018 they REALLY want to do more with the franchise and wanted so for years.
I'd love a third ZOE game the concept art they showed for the one that was cancelled looked amazing, but I don't think the 2nd Runner remaster sold well enough for Konami to consider it.
Enders project was another thing, but the original ZoE creator wasn't on it. According to the few info we got, it wasn't even a mecha game because Kojima told the director (I forgot his name, he worked on a konami franchise with anime girls in mechanical armors) "mecha don't sell", it was in a fantasy setting while reusing the gameplay of ZoE.
That still sounds pretty interesting
there was almost multiple ZoE3 that started/were in the talk, around 2005, 2009, 2011 and 2018.
the guy who directed ZOE2MARS was the director of the cut ZoE3.
ZoE is the half life of Konami.
I'd like to give them the benefit of the doubt and say that Survive is konami higher ups' fault not the devs
One of tapes from Survive seems to be meta.
That's really quite blatant and really sad, it's heartbreaking to see how many talented devs still work at Konami and they're getting fricked in the ass by their awful management.
management got better according to official staff reviews + some good member getting higher ranks like Okamura, who was literally 2nd in command of the Kojima team in the early days.
New Blood to be trained by veterans probably helps too. The old guard won't be there forever
I don't think Konami will ever get another golden age but i'm expecting better things.
Survive was a sad case of a game being announced at the absolute worst time possible. The devs made the game to have fun and instead they got people shitting on them + Kojima backstabbing them for cheap promotion when he was the guy who wanted a zombie metal gear game back in 2013.
>Kojima backstabbing them for cheap promotion when he was the guy who wanted a zombie metal gear game back in 2013.
I always felt this was the case since he even went on record saying he wanted MGR2 to be about Gray Fox fighting nanomachine zombies, not to mention MGSV kind of had zombies to begin with.
I also feel like he had a bunch of ideas for Metal Gear Survive that he then reused for Death Stranding. Like Kuban energy = chiral nergy, and how the fog in Survive and rain in DS serve very similar mechanical functions.
It's really fricking night and day when you compare them to the old konami with the history of Silent Hill creation.
Survive was a fun little spin off and nobody can makes me change my mind.
The industry in general is too different now, no studios could do what could be done in the past. but good things can still be done now.
I'm almost 100% sure both Survive and Death Stranding shares one shared inspiration, perhaps not even on purpose because the Survive team is ExKojipro.
I played a lot of both games and it's interesting how they both reflect and contrast each others, even if Kojima likely never played Survive once since he's not much a gamer.
I could see a new metal gear to actually be inspired by death stranding though, because the old team never stopped playing.
According to Bloober, Konami massively changed in recent years and brought back a lot of experienced teams and experts.
They proposed new Silent Hill to Konami back in 2015, but only in 2018-2019 they actually took it seriously.
They also said that Konami doesn't want to show anything, unless they know they're ready to shock the public. Bloober wasn't aware of what other new Silent Hill projects were exactly.
So I guess new Metal Gear announcement will include multiple different projects. MGS3 remake and MGS re-release rumors were confirmed by actual journalist sites, not some literally who snoy fan sites.
https://gra.pl/szef-bloober-team-o-silent-hill-2-remake-nie-odtwarzamy-gry-ale-idealne-wspomnienie-o-niej-wywiad/ar/c12-16999239
The MG staff probably have a massive pressure due to how fans are, them taking their sweet ass time would not surprise me. Konami still gets free money from PES and old gachas so they can allow more risky shit even if extremely niche (see that Crimesight game, a shame it bombed, it's pretty fun.)
I've been looking through tweets of this guy since I got to him through reverse searching those Survive pictures.
Machine translated interview with Korekado by some Chinese site around Survive's release
My predictions for Metal Gear this year
>Metal Gear Solid and VR Missions added to the PS1 Classics catalog on PS4/5
>Silent Hill Transmission type stream announcing several projects and showing off what there is of the movie
>Metal Gear Solid 3 remake (obviously)
>Metal Gear Rising remaster (with a standard "And maybe something else *raughs*")
>Metal Gear Solid: Philantrophy or something similar (just a pre-MGS2 spin-off like that one phone game)
>Online game/phone game thing
the movie likely won't be in it if they do one, because Konami don't own the right of the MGmovie. it's owned by Sony as Kojima wanted so back in 2006.
For SH, the right were owned by 3 french filmmaker who also directly wanted to work with Konami. So Konami got an hand in the movie.
I want MGS 1-4 proper PC port, but i'm aware that it would take a massive undertaking considering the licenses and such, not to mention the porting effort.
What the frick is even happening with that MGS movie? They've been making it for like 5 years now and they don't even seem to have started shooting it yet.
Basically, it's owned by Sony who is known for being b***h with script + since it's Hollywood, every military equipment being used mean the movie need to be confirmed by the american DOD. Which clash a bit with the theme of metal gear.
Gans new Silent Hill meanwhile started in 2020 but since it's a french movie + no big producer + Konami directly working with gans (and giving him a LOT of freedom, enough for him to sneak PT stuff in the movie according to him)
Kojima really wanted a game about Gray Fox to be done by the non kojima team. He also wanted one where Gray Fox fought nanomachine zombies.
Survive used nanomachine zombies, so perhaps Gray Fox being used is possible too.
But the staff has expressed more interest in using either Raiden or a brand new protagonist. Similarly, Kojima wanted them to work on a MGS5 without him about The Boss, but they apparently refused to do so back then. (even if some really love the character like Tamaro)
>5 years
try 20-25 years
I want a game that takes place between TPP and MG1 where you play as Gray Fox.
I love Raiden so this turns me on sexually in my penis and balls
>There are morons in this thread who still have faith in Konami in 2023
They're trying to revive Silent Hill they'll definitely do Metal Gear next it was always a much more successful series
It's not about whether they'll revive the series or not.
It's about how they gonna frick it up.
best case scenarios we get good games, worst case scenarios we can laugh at these games. I see this as an absolute win.
The old games won't vanish. New games won't kill them. And there's still some talent at Konami.
Who fricking cares
>Survive devs
frick
Hopefully the gameplay won't suck ass this time
What are ya some sorta DMC5 gay or just a moron who plays turn based games?
There's a separate leak mentioning Metal Gear Revelry as well, plus an MGS3 remake.
https://arch.b4k.co/v/thread/573356851/#573356851
as cool as it sound, MG revelry just sound like a fanfic. if it's not i'm slapping my own balls.
Korekado is a great guy and it's a shame people forgot all his involment with metal gear the moment he worked on Survive. He was one of the main programmer of most big games of the franchise, including the AI programmer of MGS2, main programmer of MGS4, policenauts veteran, director of MGO2...
he didn't self-promote so he just got lost in the auteur mystique kojima cultivated.
ironically he was the one guy to gets against Kojima in the MGS4 documentary.
In it, Korekado gets a bit apeshit at Kojima because Kojima keep asking to change and add shit when the game is in the gold period and already got delayed once. Saying that for each changes he has to fix all the bugs (he was main programmer on the game)
People says "Korekado is wrong" online for that but no, he was 100% right. Even Kojima says he was technically right but he wanted the team to "surpass themselves".
Both him and Kojima probably had good enough relations though, as Kojima was the first person to get him as producer on MGSR and even on MGSV. and he also was willing to help Korekado reviving MGSR when Kojima originally wanted to cancel everything (so no MGRR)
>Prequel to Rising
Who the frick wants this
>Who the frick wants this
Literally everyone wanted that after MGS4 just completely skipped over showing us how Raiden become a cyborg after the events of MGS2 back in the day
Rising killed any interest for that. There's nothing shown about his character in Rising that made me want to know more about how he got there
It would be a bit disappointing that we wouldn’t get a direct follow up to what happened after the first one, but it can still be good. Problem is that since it’s apparently going to be based off of what MGR was originally supposed to be, it’ll become much darker and not have the same charm the first one had. Though I’d like to think there is a decent middle ground. They could do some flashback mission type while taking place in the present.
If it really is the in-house Metal Gear team making a new Raiden game I am interested as frick in what the game will be like from a mechanical standpoint, I really wonder what ideas they'll take from MGSV, MGRR and the scrapped MGSR.
Will in be building on the MGSV Fox Engine but with expanded melee combat? Will it be linear or more open? Will it bring back the PMC base elements? I would love a game that blended the stealth of MGSV with melee character action game combat, I don't even know if that is possible, just think it would be cool if you suddenly went from sneaking into doing some sick ass combos. (I just hope they don't reuse Survive's melee combat because I thought it was kind of ass)
FOX likely is a never returning due to now being almost 13 years old. UE is easier to use, can be used by newcomers without special training, has more options and works on more machine. FOX was a bit hellish to development with unless you became specialized in it.
Survive did show they wanted to be a bit less "open" than MGSV, having smaller zones in a more linear way, though it could also be because the survive director was level design of ground zeroes;
MGSR was an open world, with a structure inspired by the assaassin's creed franchise. stealth was still there and so was non lethal, theme were really dark. it had a system where enemies would be horrified by Raiden if you killed too much, like what TLOU2 did but less scripted. The game really was too ambitious for 2010. the team tried to do too much.
If they're scrapping the Fox Engine for Unreal I at least hope they're able to carry over the controls and movement in MGSV over to it. With the animation work being done and all.
Also first time I've ever heard about MGSR being Open World, where did you learn that? I did know they wanted stealth to be more "predator" like however.
>If they're scrapping the Fox Engine for Unreal I at least hope they're able to carry over the controls and movement in MGSV over to it. With the animation work being done and all.
Looking at the new Yakuza Ishin, it looks and feels very faithful to other RGG Studio games. When they showed it for the first time, people were convinced it was a Dragon Engine remake, on the gameplay side, it looks exactly like original game.
Japs are the only ones that can make use of UE.
Fox was already dropped two years ago. The only game that was still using it was PES and that dropped it (and fricked itself over).
Shame, because the engine is still black magic. Whoever at Kojima Productions at the time moved with Kojimbo because DECIMA was a good engine pick for DS PC as well.
Horizon runs way worse on PC than DS, I think its less about the engine and more just KojimaPro giving a shit about optimization.
The only part of the leak that sounds vaguely credible is the fact a new Metal Gear Ac!d game would be a mobile only game called "Ac!d:Base"
That's the exact flavor of bullshit I expect from Konami at this point.
moronic title but a new acid game would be really cool tbh.
I want to know how acid solid snake died, as acid 2 solid snake is a clone (who genocided an army of other clone)
Flynn is still followed by Konami on all social medias, I think he managed to avoid the drama beside for 2 years.
Old french interviews and magazine only interviews.
A LOT of metal gear information is restricted in japanese magazines, even for Survive, there was a lot of stuff only in those like CG renders of the characters, interviews post release with the staff talking about the game and the story, or the concept art of The Lord of Dust by Masahiro Ito.
Now that MGR became popular among normies thanks to memes you petty fricks will hate it regardless
It will crash and fail and nobody will care as they only treasured the first.
>Quinton Flynn
Based Konami not giving a frick about accusations and women's bullshit. Capcom should learn a thing or two since they dropped Reuben Langdon over tweets.
>dropped Reuben Langdon over tweets.
they did? and how the frick is DC Douglas still ok for them then?!
They only start caring until ResetEra and Twitter throws enough of a fit.
was he? Almost all the cast of SV6 is new even for returning characters. Dante likely would still be voiced by Reuben too.
Hell, Reuben was always a weirdo for years, but not a dangerous one.
DC Douglas won't work with them again as he leaked a canceled RE project. They got a guy who sounds just like him in dead by daylight though.
They didn't drop Reuben because of tweets, a bunch of Street Fighter VAs got recast
Reuben better shut the frick up during DMC6, if he wants to schizo again at least wait till after the game comes out
I think the DMC cast is safe when it comes to DMC. Itsuno probably puts his foot down to keep them in.
Dan Southworth did basically the same thing that tanked DC Douglas as Wesker 3 whole years before DMC5 was announced and he's still there in the final product.
?t=1178
Wait what did Dan Southworth do? Did he rape women like DC Douglas did allegedly?
Black person, I posted a fricking timestamped video.
The word is that DC got dropped from Wesker because he posted that he was coming back for RE4make and broke NDA.
test
I hope that Raiden kills a U.S. politician again, as is tradition in both of his games.
Raidenchads.. is our time coming?
>star of the best two Metal Gear games
>his return will save the series
Feels pretty good
>Kojimagays are only care about MGS, ZoE or SH
Guess i'm the only one who wants to see a new game from this masterpiece
fun fact : Kojima wasn't director of Boktai,
He did the game design but had to leave early on the project, so the director was Ikuya Nakamura, also main artist and sprite artist of the game. he then did game design and direction of all the later Boktai game without Kojima real involment. Nakamura is still at Konami and had interest in more Boktai, but the franchise is likely too niche now .
Kojima also has almost nothing to do with ZoE beside giving his staff to Okamura, he even was against some of Okamura's choice for ZoE1 but let him do it. ZoE started without Kojima as Atlantis, but when Kojima helped Okamura as both were bros, he brought Shinkawa for the designs. (PROTO-ZoE had Gundam X looking designs based on the sole concept art that was released of it), Kojima himself even said he was tired of people crediting him ZoE but people kept doing it anyway.
>Get out of your fricking room and go out into the sun and play you pasty-ass little shit
If it does happen I hope to God that they improve the voice acting. As in the line delivery. MGR sounds phoned in from half of the cast including Flynn himself.
Legitimately how the hell is that MGS3 remake gonna pan out? Assuming it plays similarly to MGSV the PS2 level design is gonna be dated as hell and gonna need a complete overhaul to not feel like Twin Snakes 2.0, it's practically gonna have to be a totally different game.
>it's practically gonna have to be a totally different game.
That's the point of the fricking REMAKE, not REMASTER.
Even Activision called COD4 and MW2 8th gen versions remasters, while everyone else would call them remakes.
won'tt play like MGSV. I'm expecting mostly graphical with a new control scheme and a few new features. Basically have a mix of the gameplay of MGS3 and MGS4. same level design, mostly same enemy pattern and boss.
>mgr2 without the kojimbo writing
The fact they're testing the waters on the spin off for the 2nd time to see if they can replicate it shows they're not going to even try MGS6
>without the kojimbo writing
Just like the first game, fricking moron.
fukushima writing MGS1-2-3 is a moronic meme and even he said so.
but play ghost babel, that's some actual fukushima kino, same for the snake tales bonus mission of MGS2,
oh wait i read MGS except of MGR. my bad
>Rising
>Kojima
Where do you people come from? Legit question.
you are such a fricking moron
Why do you homosexuals act like it would ever be as good as the first one?
Why wouldn't it be? MGR has a lot of things they could improve on. The game was hashed together in a year, and largely made from scraps of the MGS Rising project, and it shows.
Incredibly difficult to catch lightning in a bottle twice and MGR was a product of Platinum at the time and Konami allowing them to do weird shit. Things have changed a lot in the last 10 years.
I would love for it to happen, anon, but I would be very skeptical.
>lightning in a bottle
>a product of it's the time
>Things have changed a lot in the last 10 years
are you aware how incredibly generic your post sounds?
give that shit a chance, what else we gonna fricking do? buySkyrim for the 8th time?
Maybe you're right about the story it will be really damn hard to compare to Sam and Armstrong, but the combat can definitely be improved.
Not him but there is so much shit a potential new Rising game could do to make it a worthwhile endevaor, even if its not as memeworthy or "soul" as the original just a sequel that improves and expands on the gameplay would be worth it.
Bayonetta 3.
That had really fun combat, shame about the gimmick minigames and bad writing overshadowing it.
>That had really fun combat
Only when you played as Bayonetta.
So...the vast majority of the game? Viola only had like three levels.
Did you forget the Jeanne sections?
Oh yeah, I put those in the same category as the other minigames.
I can see that. Trust me, MGR is still my favorite platinum game and I would love to see them equal, or even outdo, that one. I've been burnt too many times now.
Well as long as they get the same writer and don't have Kamiya direct the game there's no way it will have the same problems as Bayo 3.
One can hope.
YOU WERE THE LIGHTNING IN THAT BOTTLE
MGR played more like a demo of a full game than a finished project. The game was 2 fricking hours long.
It's like 7 hours you lying homosexual
You can beat it in 1 hour honestly.
Sure, homosexual, sure
On Revengeance btw.
>DMC5
>DD2
>Now the possiblity of MGR2
What have we learned these last few years, Ganker?
>NEVER
>SAY
>NEVER
>EVER
MEGA MAN LEGENDS 3 LET'S GO
>Metal Gear Rising 2 comes out
>Sunny will be probably 18 at this point
No more cute and funny dicky Sunny kind of saddens me but I'm curious how much she will change as an adult girl
I'd be happy if they made her another playable character(though that would probably mean she would have to suffer and become a cyborg)
>MGR2
>Sunny starts simping for Raiden even more
>Raiden is ok with it because deep down he knows that Rose is a prostitute anyway
As long as Sunny is still fapabble I don't care. If you are for a e-girl, you should be happy to see her grow and develop too
She will have her own daughter
>snake is dead of old age by the time of Rising and now potentially rising 2
Makes me sad to be honest. What a larger than life character, unironically my role model growing up.
You should be glad he was allowed to have a peaceful death. He earned it.
He probably died surrounded by loved ones
I remember going on jogs as a teenager. I was scrawny but still very out of shape and thinking of Big Boss and Guts to get through my runs after my lungs felt like they were on fire. Now I have this weird spinal pain when I run so I take it easier instead of being macho, but still fond memories.
Snake cured the accelerated aging. He's back and ready for MGS6.
you revengeance redditors are gonna get monkey paw'd hard lmao.
God I fricking hope not.
inb4 metal gear survive 2
Wait, raiden VA didn't get cancelled? Based af I can't wait to hear him as axel again
If Flynn is coming back to reprise his role he'll have been playing Raiden for 22 years. That's kind of nuts.
What's the longest an English VA has played the same character for? Thinking games here specifically.
Probably Charles Martinet as Mario
Martinet could be dead with Nintendo just reusing old voice samples and we'd be none the wiser.
>Project Solid
HOLY SHIT MGS6 HAPPENING
I saw Quinton Flynn at a grocery store in Los Angeles the other day. I told him how cool it was to meet him in person, but I didn’t want to be a douche and bother him and ask him for photos or anything. He said, “Oh, like you’re doing now?” I was taken aback, and all I could say was “Huh?” but he kept cutting me off and going “huh? huh? huh?” and closing his hand shut in front of my face. I walked away and continued with my shopping, and I heard him chuckle as I walked off. When I came to pay for my stuff up front I saw him trying to walk out the doors with like fifteen Milky Ways in his hands without paying.
The girl at the counter was very nice about it and professional, and was like “Sir, you need to pay for those first.” At first he kept pretending to be tired and not hear her, but eventually turned back around and brought them to the counter.
When she took one of the bars and started scanning it multiple times, he stopped her and told her to scan them each individually “to prevent any nanomachine infetterence,” and then turned around and winked at me. I don’t even think that’s a word. After she scanned each bar and put them in a bag and started to say the price, he kept interrupting her by yawning really loudly.
Will it be even made by the same team that made the first one?
I just have one question.
Does Raiden still have a dick?
LET'S GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
>Everyone asking for MGS and MGS3
How about we get something cool instead?(like any of these are going to happen)
A 3D version of MG1&2 could be neat, but I doubt anyone would care enough to buy it.
I don't give one flying frick about Metal Gear 1 and I've beaten it multiple times. It and MG2's events are already recreated in Metal Gear Solid and its sequels (Black Ninja/Gray Fox, Korean Tap Code/Game Case Codec Number, Kyle Schneider basically being prototype Frank Jaeger etc). You could make the case for MG2's story being interesting to see recreated thanks to the OILIX plot point and Dr. Madnar (who appeared only off-screen to fix Raiden in MGS4) but I don't care at all to see your wet dream of a face off between Venom and Solid redone in modern graphics. I would rather see a new Solid Snake and Otacon game just like old times, traveling the world again and infiltrating desert, urban bases or even traveling Asia. They really ought to do either an interquel between MGS2 and 4 or an MGS6 that takes place after MGR with Snake overcoming the aging with molecular NMN therapy or some other pseudo scientific bullshit. I don't care how they do it, Kojima is a moron who should be ignored and the series should continue beyond 4 properly.
It is either going to be a port or an NFT, MGR 2 will never happen
>platinum games won’t be working on it
>it’s being handled by the team that did survive instead
If this is real, what’s even the fricking point? Shit we’re getting monkeypawed, aren’t we?
The few PG guys they got are some of the most important creative people from the original, and KP was involved in the writing (the same KP members who remained with Konami). The game is in good hands anon.
Even the gameplay aspect..?
