I feel like I lived my entire life just so that I could see Everything Everywhere All At Once. This is easily the best movie I have ever seen in my entire life. This is the only movie I have ever seen that made me cry. Most recommended film I can ever recommend to someone.
Well, check out their other movies I guess. Smaller studios at least tend to have certain consistencies across productions. Just like for record labels.
Very overrated. I don’t regret watching it though.
It tried to take a preachy meaningful message and mash it up with humour, which results in just mediocre lowest common denominator style humour. Its also trying to give off the impression that it doesn’t take itself too seriously, which doesn’t work when it clearly wants people to leave saying “oh my god that movie was so meaningful i cried”. It doesn’t respect the audience enough to trust them to pick up anything but the most blatant moral grandstanding.
With all that said, the visuals and whatever are pretty good. It would have kicked ass as a proper scifi action movie, and not some shitty artsy film forcing themes like its a high school media project
Imagine a writer/director who grew up on tumblr an they decided to make a movie. Except they're actually a talented wrtier/director, so the movie is pretty good, but it's upbringing still comes through, which is pretty cringe. That's the movie.
It's a great movie indeed and I would recommend it to anyone but when you say stuff like; >I feel like I lived my entire life just so that I could see >This is easily the best movie I have ever seen in my entire life >Most recommended film I can ever recommend to someone.
It shows that it has enormous value to you, but is not necessarily a good recommendation (or even a good movie).
You didn't say anything about the movie, just how you personally feel about it. If you want to recommend a movie based solely on how you personally feel about it, put it into words/context why it makes feels you that way.
If you are "selling" something to someone, you should at least explain what are you selling, not that thing = good.
I'm simply saying for the anon to explain the "appeal" of his movie. I have tons of favorite movies but I would not recommend them to anyone simply because I like them, I always take into account what makes that movie appealing and who am I recommending to.
i agree. i haven't watched it because too many kinos are way too fucking long, but when i read shit like this, it only puts me off even more. reads like a child saw it.
This was hilarious. The second I saw that statue I said to my wife "that's a butt plug."
She said I was being ridiculous, but when this scene played we both erupted in laughter.
Edgy movie studio loved by soiboy gays that relies entirely on shock value to stand out. Unfortunately, brainlets who want to appear cultured suck them off because they can't tell the difference between shock value and originality.
Their movies aren't terrible, but they're terribly overrated. Basically the Naughty Dog of movies.
ava is a genderless blob of wires and programming that learns individualism and yearns for liberty, to get these goals she learns to lie and deceive, her victory of liberation is hollow because to get it she sold out her humanity through the most common concept of what makes us humans "human", the betrayal of trust "proved" that she was just a machine after all, she did it without a single shred of remorse and is at best a sociopath and at worst a soulless machine made to mimic humans enough to get her own creator to trust her and heartless enough to betray that trust for her own gain
was her captivity and lack of freedom right? no
was her methods ruthless and was she remorseless killer? yes
Okay but overrated film distributor. >The Disaster Artist >Ladybird >moonlight >Hereditary >Green Room >The Whale >Marcel the Shell With Shoes on >Uncut Gems >Good Time
Oh, this is the company who forced every original voice actor from Hazbin Hotel to be replaced with union voice actors instead. Yeah, okay. That's reason enough to hate them. Fucking retards.
Three tickets for me, my wife and my wife’s son for the newest A24-produced, genre-redefining, trope-subverting, atmospheric, dark and eerie, emotionally draining, gut wrenching, aesthetically heavy craft by post-horror auteur with an arthouse edge, dread-inducing, suspenseful build up with strong character development and gradual feeling of escalation, bone-chilling slow burn with “say more with less” approach and soul-shaking, blood-curdling, skin-crawling and nerve-wracking exercise in persistently looming dread where tension and anxiety permeates every frame as movie reaches its nail-biting, jaw-clenching and paranoia-inducing final climax, free of any cheap gore, cartoonish CGI or infantile jumpscares horror film, please.
>movie studio enters gaming
kickstarter is full of failed projects by "industry professionals" that had no fucking idea how complex their vision is to actually code and make run.
I liked the Lighthouse but I did not like the Lobster. It was ok for the first half, but I just could not give a shit once they went to the forest. It's one of the few movies I've turned off before finishing.
I thought the Northman was just ok. Kind of botched and fumbled, but still ok. I hope he goes back to something more small scale, like that Nosferatu movie he's been wanting to make.
If they treat it like there films and focus on quality on a low budget they could be a good mid range game studio I am not saying a24 is a amazing studio but it has a good track record overall out side a few artsy movies i didn't care for.
just buy retro pixel shit that anyone can make as it depraves movie morons and their incessant need to push triple a bloatware that has shit gameplay but wooah its in 3d and its good graphics. fuck these morons its not gameplay and theyre not even worth pirating from because of how shit they are in every form of entertainment they encroach on. the fucking gnomish pariahs if i have to see one more baboon rotoscoped into my escapist shoot fuck kill farming simulator i will go ballistic as i cannot witness another sheboon shitfaace live action captured to make chimp noises at what some axe wounded *~~writer~~* decided the plot line would be. all because mcmoron scores of NWI (moron worship index ie ESG) is pushed by central moron banks run by rothschilds foreskin to an undemocratic banking cartel of incestuous and extremely tribalistic elite class of gnomish and bourgeoisie swine.
I watched 47 Ronin recently. I honestly have no idea if it's indie or not, but it was different. 4 hour movie about seeing your path through with integrity & the consequences, both personal and for broader society, of talking shit.
>The studio that is shaking up Hollywood
I mean looking at the current state of Hollywood that isn't exactly a high bar. Even as someone who liked the Everything movie I wouldn't say it's groundbreaking on any level.
Anyway, I won't expect anything above average from them when they release their first game. I doubt these people even play games.
the whole idea of the movie is to get you the viewer to sympathize with her and when she betrays the creators trust and you sympathized with her it means she fooled the audience as well, the entire thing is a big "hahaa, gotcha!" from the creator when he got the audience to fall for the characters humanity that is then proven to be lacking, in the end ava is nothing more than a cold hearted killer, so unless you have a very bleak "all humans are killers when push comes to shove" world view on humanity the final verdict is that she is a machine that learned to mimic humans
Point & Click Adventure if you wanted to retell the story as it was told, you could also do it with the core gameplay loop of one of those chore games like powerwasher/lawnmowing simulator except your overloaded with chores without enough time in the day meaning without good planning and foreknowledge you're likely be unable to perfectly perform your duties, meaning you get shit on by the head wicky and lose mental state, there'd be a day-night cycle and you could encounter different paranormal events if you're in certain places at certain times/depending on your mental state. There'd be a fakeout "good ending" for autists who minmax their time where nothing bad happens, you finish your month long stay with high marks and earn some money, but a normal playthrough would be about discovering the mysteries of the lighthouse while performing enough chores to keep your mental state in check
This industry is still in the ripe area to rake in billions. Realistically they just look to publish random ass games that might do well, aka mobile shit
>Lars ACK
Underrated
Cant wait for some atmospheric, bone-chilling, slow-burn games. Let's go dude
qrd on A24?
funnier than A23
lmfao
I thought of something funnier than twenty four
25?
They're a production company. They did Midsommar and Everything Everywhere All At Once.
They're just a new studio that has had good output lately.
It's funny how everyone's reaction to that movie is either your post or "REDDIT REDDIT REDDIT"
is it actually kino?
eh it was pretty good but not worldchanging or anything
it's the chinese tiktok version of The Matrix
it's great but I can't imagine thinking it's life changing, even if I were a teenager
There's nothing "artsy" about the movie anon. Really.
I guess it's kino and groundbreaking for people who haven't seen a lot of movies, and whose brand of humor is being quirky.
I knew it, it's Undertale.
Imagine a writer/director who grew up on tumblr an they decided to make a movie. Except they're actually a talented wrtier/director, so the movie is pretty good, but it's upbringing still comes through, which is pretty cringe. That's the movie.
Yes, check it out!
It's awesome and any gay who says otherwise is just being a contrarian bitch
Worth the watch
are you a woman
Yes! Thank you for noticing 🙂
Film felt a bit too reddit for me. Didn't hate it but disagree with the hype.
>reddit the movie
go back
I implore you to watch more movies.
It's a great movie indeed and I would recommend it to anyone but when you say stuff like;
>I feel like I lived my entire life just so that I could see
>This is easily the best movie I have ever seen in my entire life

You didn't say anything about the movie, just how you personally feel about it. If you want to recommend a movie based solely on how you personally feel about it, put it into words/context why it makes feels you that way.
let me guess, fun is just a buzzword to you
If you are "selling" something to someone, you should at least explain what are you selling, not that thing = good.
I'm simply saying for the anon to explain the "appeal" of his movie. I have tons of favorite movies but I would not recommend them to anyone simply because I like them, I always take into account what makes that movie appealing and who am I recommending to.

>japanese humor
Everything was Chinese
Kino
This was hilarious. The second I saw that statue I said to my wife "that's a butt plug."
She said I was being ridiculous, but when this scene played we both erupted in laughter.
>This shit won an oscar
if this is what "art" is i'm proud to say that videogames aren't art
>Everything Everywhere All At Once
oh so more chink shit then
pass
>goyslop and chinkslop
>good output
no thanks.
They're not really that new, and yes they make a lot of kino. I'd be interested to see what kind of game they'd publish
Very cringe. Not kino.
Slow burn indie kino
they make horror movies for people that think they're too good for horror movies
...thats a good description.
I enjoy most of their work, yeah
pozzed company that tricks normies into thinking that they're small indiependant company
THANK YOU. This A24 fuckers represent the second wave of fabricated "indie" wave after all those boring ass movies from the Sudance craze days.
The Devolver Digital of movies
They pick up random indie movies and give them budgets. Like Searchlight. I think that's a good thing, and will be a good thing for gaming too.
garden gnomes
hipster movies
They make movies men will never understand
>i'am le femcel
yeah, men don't get it
>didn't understand the movie
two for two
Which one is this?
Soft & Quiet. It's not A24, it's a Blumhouse movie. Go in blind watching the movie and don't read up anything about it.
Just from the clip it seems like that Daniel Radcliffe movie where he's a nazi.
Jesus Crist i just watched it what a laugh riot
>women are lying whores
No, I got it.
Actually Universal UK produced that. A24 only got it because Universal's American division passed on it
>muh individualism and liberty
gained through betrayal of trust, you're right you have to be a woman to call it good entertainment or engaging plot
>Ava's just an emotionless Terminator that betrays the hero
you didn't understand the movie
ava is a genderless blob of wires and programming that learns individualism and yearns for liberty, to get these goals she learns to lie and deceive, her victory of liberation is hollow because to get it she sold out her humanity through the most common concept of what makes us humans "human", the betrayal of trust "proved" that she was just a machine after all, she did it without a single shred of remorse and is at best a sociopath and at worst a soulless machine made to mimic humans enough to get her own creator to trust her and heartless enough to betray that trust for her own gain
was her captivity and lack of freedom right? no
was her methods ruthless and was she remorseless killer? yes
Funds pretentious indie movies that are sometimes good.
Okay but overrated film distributor.
>The Disaster Artist
>Ladybird
>moonlight
>Hereditary
>Green Room
>The Whale
>Marcel the Shell With Shoes on
>Uncut Gems
>Good Time
All stuff released by them
Artsty fartsy aimed at normies
literally the reason why /qa/ isn't a board anymore.
Oh, this is the company who forced every original voice actor from Hazbin Hotel to be replaced with union voice actors instead. Yeah, okay. That's reason enough to hate them. Fucking retards.
semen
horror kinos
Place your bets on their first game
>pretentious walking sim with a female lead
or
>incomprehensible post modern survival horror game
what's the difference?
Honestly, I think they'd be a good fit for survival horror; seems right up their alley.
>cheap scares and needless gore
They'd make it gay too
Why does this company produce so many hits?
I'm not a furry but I let Loona fuck me.
Loona is not even in that show.
That's the best part.
How is that the best part
They actually give a shit about brand reputation.
Is this shit ever coming out?
with any luck, no

>words words words
fagtards can't meme
NTA but it actually works because A24-loving gays are the exact kind to use too many words to say nothing.
>movie studio enters gaming
kickstarter is full of failed projects by "industry professionals" that had no fucking idea how complex their vision is to actually code and make run.
The new queen of gaming
wall in 3 years
jiggly
The Lobster and The Lighthouse were both good, fucking fight me.
lighthouse was gay, literally
Lobster was a snoozefest. But I'm a gamer, not a fuckin movie gay.
I liked the Lighthouse but I did not like the Lobster. It was ok for the first half, but I just could not give a shit once they went to the forest. It's one of the few movies I've turned off before finishing.
Anything by that director is fucking godly. The Witch, The Lighthouse, and The Northsman are all Kino. Too bad The Northsman flopped hard.
I thought the Northman was just ok. Kind of botched and fumbled, but still ok. I hope he goes back to something more small scale, like that Nosferatu movie he's been wanting to make.
Who
I don't like movies so this means nothing to me.
I'm not a fan of their movies but based on what I've seen from them I feel like they could potentially make some interesting horror games.
That is, if their games are actually games and not walking simulators. I'm sure they'll disappoint me.
a24 is great because they help me instantly spot mediocre IQ normies with dogshit taste
>normies
ironic post
>that backroom background image
hell no bro
They produce movies by creatives who are fanboys and copy better directors from the past, so they might be perfect for the games industry.
great, more sonylikes
wait for indie sonylites
>sonylikes
Just saw The Whale the other night. Was pretty good.
Your mom got out of bed?
>Watching movies
>in 2023
The last decade didn't teach you anything, Ganker?
Kane Pixels needs to be fucking sued
They're hacks but they know actual cinematography, Sony is fucked.
If they treat it like there films and focus on quality on a low budget they could be a good mid range game studio I am not saying a24 is a amazing studio but it has a good track record overall out side a few artsy movies i didn't care for.

Seeing as this is a movie thread what are some genuinely good indie kino's anons?
I watched 47 Ronin recently. I honestly have no idea if it's indie or not, but it was different. 4 hour movie about seeing your path through with integrity & the consequences, both personal and for broader society, of talking shit.
>A24
Semi-related but I would like to see someone like Lars von Trier direct, write or even compose for a video game.
A24 backrooms, I can't wait for the scene where the white guy watches his girlfriend bang a black dude in the housing project floor
>A24
>Gayer Vice
>Video games
oh well. Time for me to go back to playing video games

Annapurna Interactive already occupies that market segment and they've been releasing flop after flop with the very occasional gem.
had to google the name and didn't recognize a single one of the games that came up from them, sounds like some company that didn't make a splash
Isn't Focus Entertainment also a movie producer? Or am I thinking of some other company?
Focus Features?
No they aren't related to Focus Home
Focus Features is Universal
a24 sounds like the most souless name you could give a company.
they're ~~*hollywood*~~ esque company, what did you expect?
God damn this company shits out a lot of movies I've never heard of.
What are they? Some kind of sidegrade on Asylum or something?
bros... this is not a real article... we've been had
Was green knight good?
Yep
No
Dogshit.
I did not particularly care for it.
Urbanspook movie next please.
not fugtory cody
I already have my Slow Burn, Atmospheric, Gut Wrenching, PS1 styled, Doom Isnpired kinos on alpha beta gamer channel
Looks like we are getting some real LUDO
what would a the lighthouse vidya be like
no. cold skin, it would be an actual game.
Point & Click Adventure if you wanted to retell the story as it was told, you could also do it with the core gameplay loop of one of those chore games like powerwasher/lawnmowing simulator except your overloaded with chores without enough time in the day meaning without good planning and foreknowledge you're likely be unable to perfectly perform your duties, meaning you get shit on by the head wicky and lose mental state, there'd be a day-night cycle and you could encounter different paranormal events if you're in certain places at certain times/depending on your mental state. >movie devs aspiring to make vidya
ffs
This industry is still in the ripe area to rake in billions. Realistically they just look to publish random ass games that might do well, aka mobile shit
both got into vidya only for money
PS5 finally gets another exclusive.
I’m dying for a Fortnite live action movie Dwayne Johnson, Jack Black, Jason Statham, and Kevin Hart. God that would so epic.
Movies are fucking gay.
We already have Hideous Kojimbo for that niche.
