I'm moronic
>LOGIC [Challenging: Failure] - An aureole. Is this man holy?
>CONCEPTUALIZATION [Medium: Success] - No, it isn't a halo. Picture it from the rear. It's a monochrome representation of the plight of the Seolite, a tan woven hat upturned on the head. It blocks the rain and the sun, shades the face- hides the future.
>ENDURANCE - Welcome to the rice fields, mötherfricker.
- Welcome to the rice fields, mötherfricker.
god I love skillposts
Maybe I'm just moronic but why does he have that background
It's the ceiling lamp light behind his head as he looks down at Harry on the bed after the Tribunal
gays are holy saints in the devs minds
Jean has a square one. Partners?
I always thought the more coherent the portrait is, the more sane and normal the character.
A subtle hint: That's he's one of the few characters in Revachol that you can absolutely trust.
it's because he's able to balance his shit on the stick
[spoile]Kim was a gay[/spoiler].
For what purpose?
No reason at all, just like actual gays. Actually makes him seem more realistic because of it.
>INTERFACING [Easy: Failure] - Just only had to select the words you want to put a spoiler tag on, and press Ctrl+S. Why is this giving you so much trouble?
I know we like to meme on phone posters here, but if you're on your PC you should be doing work or actually *gasp*, playing vidya. No way I'd be caught in this hellhole doing anything but laying in bed or sitting in the toilet.
so what's your reason for being gay?
I watched Neon Genesis Evangelion in middle school and the scene where Kaworu and Shinji hold hands in the bath awakened something within me
my uncle touched me when I was a kid
the game doesn't throw it in your face though and you really have to go looking for it
Not only gay, gay for big hairy Harry wiener.
can u romance him?
The game was written by leftists. Be glad they all weren't gay.
one of the nicest and most reasonable people in the game is a fascist widow
women are nothing but trouble
>still gets compromised by Klaasje
Maybe Kim is bi while he is unaware of that
gets compromised by Klaasje
>Maybe Kim is bi while he is unaware of that
beautiful people have that effect on other people, no matter their sexual orientation
It's hinted at that he is bisexual. Either way no reason really I mean it would explain a bit of his fruity behavior and sassy attitude. That being it doesn't take away the fact he's a total bro.
>Are you a part of the homosexual underground Kim
>Yes
>Alright cool, me too I think
That's the extent I remember it. Kim being gay or not isn't pushed onto you. Made into a big thing and doesn't matter.
He's just a bro who might be gay. That makes him a much better gay character than most depictions
For the sole purpose of burning Harry.
I always interpreted it as Kim just saying yes because he knew Harry wouldn't shut up unless he said so.
Because leftists made the game and having a prominent gay character is in their rulebook.
Not even kidding, him being gay is more of an afterthought than a central theme, which is how gay characters made by those who see them as divine turn out.
>him being gay is more of an afterthought than a central theme
Correct
>which is how gay characters made by those who see them as divine turn out.
Now this is delusional
People who make these characters as gay usually make the gayness CENTRAL to who they are
And it's grating as shit.
I'm glad that Kim being gay is an afterthought
Am tired and hyped on coffee, I meant those who worship them turn a character being gay into the central theme. Or turn a character gay for no real reason.
The second half of your post. You do KNOW there's a thought in Disco Elysium that almost mimics your obsessive mentality of someone being gay right? Also, the Straight Man to Harry's antics being canon gay is a good joke.
No one reeing out about leftists in a DE thread actually played the game
>prominent
It's a 20 hour thought process that ends with both Harry's voices and Kim telling him to stop obsessing over it. You can play the entire game and never know he's gay.
for the fujobucks
I hate how fanart makes Kim look less ugly than he actually is
So true, Kim looks like a ww2 anti jap propaganda poster, not a korean pop star with some wrinkles.
I don't know how they got away with making a character who is literally just a Tojo poster in 3D but I appreciate it.
His portrait looks way better than his model and you don't really see the model up close, I don't blame them.
I have no clue what they were thinking for the Extended Cut promo
Gritty realism
No wonder the lorry driver welcomed Kim to Revachol
Harry looks really intimidating in this one
Realistically he should be, he's objectively unstable and strong enough to break your kneecaps with his clipboard
literally just slavoj zizek
*sniffs*
Peter Sloterdijk*
Can't have an Asian dude character without making him gay.
You're literally unable to stop obsessing over other people's sexuality, huh?
Hetero -- sexual. Life -- partners
who is this? lely before he died?
Sgt Torson, one of the guys in Harry's unit. You can hear him if you call to report your badge and gun missing
I never figured this out in my playthrough. Do you have to do the homosexual underground thought?
Yes and you have to pass a drama check to believe him
I'm too sober for this
>ELECTROCHEMISTRY - Yes, you are. You should top up, trust me.
CHING CHONG PING PONG
Yes, WHY are you such a CHINK
You're seolite.
The "Homosexual Underground" thing is a reference to a podcast making fun of a line in the movie JFK.
I feel like most people are unaware of this.
Source?
These guys did some voices for the game before the Final Cut version, and they made jokes about the "gay conspiracy" at the center of the movie JFK back in 2016, including a line about the "homo-sexual underworld" said by Kevin Bacon in the movie.
Here's a clip I could find from August 2019 of them talking about it: https://youtu.be/7I5vQnoocDk?t=36m52s
I think in 2016 they get the line wrong and say "homosexual underground" as a joke at some point, IIRC. So that's where the concept comes from. Fun fact.
I rushed everything and finished the game at day 5 because i thought i would been able to do whatever the frick i wanted in jamrock the moment i solved the case, same thing happen to me in graveyard keeper
Hey, on the bright side, you now have a reason to do a second playthrough to do the things you have missed while using a guide (like getting the spirit bomb), and you can choose the best stats that fits your preferences
Yeah, it was also funny when Kim said he had never seen someone as driven as me at the end, i think i never took a rest and ignored almost everything that it was not related to the main case
Did you get the picture at the end then? Because basically everything is related to the main case. in some way.
Has there been any awkward zombie DE comics besides this one?
Several. They're not great but her take on Harry, drawing him as powerfully built and towering over others, is funny and arguably the most accurate way to draw him
I thought the game was on a timer and would end at the tribunal, so I crammed everything into as few days as possible.
Same, I was trying to finish a bunch of shit every day to the point I found a way to steal the boots and make Kim send the corpse to the morgue the same day.
Yes and no, you have freedom to move around all day but interacting with objects and talking to people will pass time. As far as I know though, it won't cut you off for taking 5 days instead of 3 to track down Ruby
welcome

underrated
Kim
I'm asking you
If you didn't eat breakfast this morning
How would you feel?
>Kim inhales deeply before gesturing to the counter.
>"But detective, I did eat breakfast. Mr. Garte here kindly offered me a bowl of warm cereal while I was waiting for you to come down. Can we please stay focused on the case?"
Kim I havent eaten anything in 4 days
why are there different versions of this song?
never too much of a good thing
different times of day and different moods. It's also the one you'll be hearing the most so having a bit of variety helps
I wonder what the rest of this conversation was about?
>ENCYCLOPEDIA [Easy: Success] - Ganker is archived on https://arch.b4k.coGanker .

Correct. You do your job because it's your fricking job. Answer the questions to the best of your ability and provide as much closure as possible.

what the frick man
I did it and did not regret a thing because I truly think other people are barely impacted by anything in their lives despite outside actions and claims. They're not like me. So the overkill options to drive the nails in are the best options to be sure the other person feels it and cannot forget, will not be allowed to forget. An indelible mark as it should be
more edge than a butterknife
He is cutting onions so that's a good thing
I'm so glad I had really high empathy the first time I played.
Big brain
I'm glad I was on drugs at pretty much all times
Same but drunk. Made second playthrough possible as I didn't remember much.
The moment you push the info out of her and flat out says it's been a day or two raised my alarms immediately. I just really wasn't prepared for the way that he died. Like, it's one of the most lamest and at the same time tragic ways of dying I have seen in any media.
The banality of his death and the mundane circumstances just made it hit harder
The whole "Lady I bet your husband is missing" bit reminded me of the show Psych, he looked absolutely deranged and you were told to stop but turned out to be right in the end. It's just intuition
that show was awesome
c'mon SON you know that's right.
My first run I had 1 Psy and dumped empathy.

>"4.6 billion people and you failed every single one of them. You really fricked up."
Harry was meant to be an Innocence, but trainwrecked his life into oblivion. That's why he let every person on earth down. That's why he can hear and see things through Shivers and Inland Empire and communicate directly with Revachol.
No no no, he WAS an Innocence the whole time. an Innocence both ushers in and embodies the new age. Harry's trainwreckness was a direct result of the previous age or the age he lived in as his age begins when Revachol gets nuked. The pebbles he threw into Martinaise rippled out. Call it the collective unconscious or the zeitgeist or whatever but the world is psychically linked with the pale and all that. I don't think it's beyond reason to think that the small actions Harry made had bigger knock on effects and if he was an Innocent then they should even more so.
Is Harry an innocence who wrecked his life by excessive drug use or did he become one through it?
>. That's why he let every person on earth down
I can come back from this...
>> EMPATHY [Challenging - Success] - They won't come back to you
What the hell is the pale
Nothing, but white.
psychic magic. The game is set in a time when people seem to be just really starting to study and understand it so we don't get any info on it really. I think that's for the best.
>CONCEPTUALIZATION [Medium: Success]
The map is not the territory; and it's the territory not on the map.
Climate change, literally. It's pure anti-life and its perpetuation is brought about by the masses being unwilling to band together to stop it. It's an apocalypse in slow-motion, and nobody is bothering to move out of the way, as their wills were stripped long ago.
Also Inland Empire is a picture of the world from above as described by the space images that captured the isolas sprinkled throughout the Pale.
>Also Inland Empire is a picture of the world from above as described by the space images that captured the isolas sprinkled throughout the Pale.
That's bullshit.
But I believe it.
I never fully got every piece of information on it in my playthroughs so I get to make up the rest of it in my head, but I picture it as basically a physical static. Like radio or television static crossed with our world's oceans, but rather than it being water and having mass and weight, The Pale is just sort of there. Maybe it's electrons just clashing into eachother in constant explosions forever, in a mass that grows slightly bigger on an atomic level so The Pale is graduallly spreading. Like an incredibly slow big bang. And they say the only way to travel through it is by these Airships that operate on radio-waves? Some shit like that.
Basically it's our ocean if the ocean was clouds of static, and instead of ships they use Airships. And there are a lot more continents. This explanation I've made up myself from bits and pieces is enough to satisfy me and make me think it's cool as frick
Like anti-matter, but it's generated from people's minds. The more people stress over shit and really get their brains going in a negative way the pale grows. Only pure hopeful thoughts can cause the pale to shrink, but the only thing delusional enough to cause that was a brief time Harry was communist enough. Basically people are fricked unless they were to go full kumbaya, and the more fricked their world gets the faster the pale will grow in response.
>only thing that will stop the pale is communism
Heh. Marx was in the know all along.
Basically, it's dementia. The world's dementia that gives people dementia.
I saw that The Sacred and Terrible Air was translated a couple months back. Anyone here read it? Is it worth checking out?
If you just really really need more DE in your life I'd say check it out, otherwise nah. It's okay, I liked it, but it is written in the exact same style as the game. Sounds great but without the game part of the game it just feels a bit off to me. Not bad at all but I wouldn't go out of my way to recommend it to people who haven';t played the game and even then I don't think most of the people that have played it would like it all that much.
>make a jap character
>calls him "kim"
those commie devs are really taking the fricking piss huh
QUICK
I AM ABOUT TO START A REPLAY, WHAT STATS DO I FOCUS ON??
First and last time I played I focused on being a smooth-talker. Is going full violence mode fun?
Become a PHYS Gay Facist Chud
It's the only way.
I look like this most of the time.
Max it out, become the most mentally ill policeman to ever walk the streets of Re/v/achol
Yeah, I think I'm going shivers, half-light, inland empire, and authority run with rest of points for slapping people.
It'll be more interesting than going with Motorics. Composure is an interesting guy but he doesn't harmonize with his peers the way Coach Physical Instrument does with Half-Light and Electrochemistry.
I think bulkmaxing Encyclopedia is the best second run to do.
Be a high-functioning schizophrenic, focus solely on Inland Empire and Volition.
I did meathead cop with massive Half-Light, Espirit de Corps, and Authority my first time through and that was fun
Hey
Check this out
If I have my way I will never put on a tie ever again for the rest of my life.
My mustache and beard don't connect, so I'm condemned to only look like this Harry.
>You see a Disco Elysium thread. "This is the thread", you think. It is time to make a reply.
>Conceptualization: [Easy: Failure] - Nothing seems to come to mind.
>Encyclopedia: [Trivial: Failure] - Did you even play this game?
>Half Light: Call the OP a communist.
>Volition: Don't do that. That's even worse than saying nothing.
>Half Light: Accuse someone in this thread of being a libtard communist or frick off.
>actual role model protagonist
Got a genuine Kek outta me.
Honestly, despite being a mess of a person Harry is not that bad of a role model.
His heart is in the right place, he tries to turn his life around even tho it beat him down, and he's actually really good when it comes to reading the room and socializing.
You fricking communist.
How much Inland Empire do you need for the tie to talk to you? I'm maxed out at 7 because I went constitution build and the fricker is still silent second day
You need to be at 6 or 7 when you get the tie from the fan of doom.
so if he didn't start talking there, he's useless? frick, I don't wanna replay all that
Mine started talking during my interrogation with Titus.
It can pipe up later, I've never had it come up prior to talking with Garte for the first time
I wish AI could recognize Harry better
>using a lobotomized M$ image gen
Not a problem on my machine!
Sorry, but this is one of those 'unless you trigger the flag it doesn't happen' things. Frustrates me too.
too bad, thanks for the heads up
which ai do you use?
Stable Diffusion. It's honestly better than Dall-E in my opinion, as while Dall-E is newer and shiner and has fixed a few bugs, ultimately it is a soul vs soulless experience.
Time to train a DE lora
you were wrong, actually, it started talking when i raised Inland Empire to 8
Good Morning Sir
Why DO people hate India here? I don't get it. So someone finds some article about shitting streets and not using a toilet and now an entire country is damned by bantz?
I don't hate India but I despise AI "art"
You've clearly never interacted with an indian before
No I have, annoying guy too. But I don't write off entire races or groups because of one or two buttholes.
You should. Racial neuroses always afflict a significant chunk of the populace.
Ok Measurehead.
Scoff if you will but there will come a time when you shall realize I was right
Imagine going to a house where the owner didn't housebreak their dog. The dog barks a lot, jumps up on you, goes up on the kitchen table and eats food off the plate, pees and shits on the walls and chairs, and chews up everything. India is that dog.
And there's a *billion and a half* of them.
>*sees him narrow his eyes*
Kim why are you closing your eyes.
Detective Cuno is definitely going to end up arresting Cunoesse later in life isn't he?
Favourite skills to pump up?
my peanus weanus of course 😀
Perception because it's boring but good, like me except I'm not good
Shivers is just too good
How hard should you go on half-light and physical instrument if you want to beat the shit out of people?
Not much, you only really get to hit Cuno and inanimate objects.
Playing a bully is so much fun
Does hitting Cuno have longer term negative effect to your relationship with Kim, or does he just give one negative comment with no lasting effects?
It doesn't matter, it doesn't block positive events from tallying up.
the first time i fully committed to playing this game, i decided to ask Gaston for a bite of his sandwich because i thought the interaction would work the same way as the salami man's.
then after the tribunal happened and i heard that Gaston wanted some company to play a game i started feeling like total shit
Why is Kim too autistic to understand a visual metaphor?
he does all the thinking and conceptualizing with his notebook, he also has a very peculiar sense of humor that you wouldnt get if it wasnt for the game telling you he's winking or smiling when he makes a joke, because his voice tone is very monotonous.
i bet he thinks of those when he's writing down notes when the situation comes for him to pull one off.
Reminder that one of the most rational level-headed and likable characters in the game (Lilienne) is a fascist revolutionary
>Reveres the sun as if it were a deity (reminiscent of traditionalist pagan beliefs commonly associated with esoteric right-wing values, is also used to portray monarchists/fascists in the DE universe (Gary the Cryptofascist has a flag on his wall with the old Revacholian suzerainty's logo, which is a sun, and your own portrait adds a sun-like insignia in a Fascist run as well), likely connected to the black sun)
>names her skiff "The Sun"
>wields a sword (like the in-game royalists) (also like Mussolini)
>Shivers explicitly says she owns a pair of cavalry boots
>her own daughter calls her a revolutionary (and yes, the definition of "revolutionary" used in DE also includes fascism, Call Me Manana calls you one if you choose fascist-leaning dialogue options)
>she's a no-nonsense working class citizen who's skeptical of the union, critical of the drunks around her, and infuriated with the delinquents and criminals in revachol
>titus says that the fishing village staunchly refuses to unionize, likely at the behest of Lilienne and the washerwoman
>Lilienne's daughter hums the overworld theme, which was a tune used by the Revacholian royalist forces
>successfully going on a date with her doesn't lead to her practically opening her legs for you, instead she sets boundaries and thanks you while considering a second bout later down the line to see if you can stick with your sobriety and piece your life back together
>esteems her family above all else
>immensely cooperative with the police, even with the knowledge of harry's recklessness and endangerment of multiple people, including and especially himself
>whereas the washerwoman calls the RCM a bad omen, Lilienne has splash dialogue that says she is relieved to see the RCM
>her outfit's color palette is the same as the revacholian suzerainty's flag (blue and gold)
and she's cute too
Sorry for the inconsistency lately, been severely ill these last few days
He was gay, Gary Cooper?
It's just the women are wonderful effect. This game is evidently written by guys who put women on a pedestal
>Ruby
>Klaasje, the eternal frick-up
>the bookstore lady
>cindy the skull
>dora
>all reprehensible c**ts
To you, maybe, but ultimately not pathetic losers. Hence, a fascist woman is forgivable.
>bookstore lady
A literal straw man and barely countable as human
Lelienne is sorta meant to show how women are the real heroes and the only ones eho can have their lives together while bring good and noble fascists (we have no idea if she is a fascist but then again, this game doesn't know what fascism is either)
>bring
Being*
Harry can also be a good and noble fascist if you make him. Rene is also a good and noble fascist whose only fault is bending the knee to the union so he can get a salary to live off of. Tommy Le Homme is also another generally upstanding guy, working class family man kinda dude. Don't be a homosexual.
Get better soon anon, for interest where do you stand on Evrart and the fishing village? Pragmatically it would improve Revachol but I feel bad about it.
Deplorable, it'd be razing the homes of honest, hard-working, exhausted people to the ground and making their lives miserable all for the sake of extra money to stack the Union's cashflow. The Union are practically Wild Pines-lite. And of course, I wouldn't want Lilienne to suffer through any more nonsense than she already has. I forge the signatures every playthrough I do, no matter my Harry's character.
Yeah I suppose, it just seems like the only attempt at progression going on in Martinaise even if people are skimming off the top. That being said, my Harry will be sending half his paycheck to Lilienne so maybe the fishing village will resolve itself over time.
I'd much rather witness a wholesale upheaval of the entire thing (alluded to with "The New" and the upcoming revolution), I feel it'd complete or at the very least elate Harry and Lilienne's fascist revolutionary spirits. Elsewise I'd like to see Harry and Lilienne settle down together in a nice house somewhere in a decent street in Jamrock. That'd be quite nice, I think.
What would Harry's new position be in Free Revachol? Will he and Lili have to wear fancy clothes and go to high class events?
I think Harry would be an instrumental figure in the revolution, but I also simultaneously think he'd remain obscure, kind of like where he's at in-universe at the point where DE begins and ends. Making profound, long-lasting changes without becoming this massively revered figure like an Innocence. I believe he'd just live a fulfilled life with Lilienne surrounded by less decadence and perpetual misery and better, less dangerous and hostile circumstances. I think he'd be a great family man doing a fine job--whatever job that may be--, and he needn't go any further than that.
And, of course, thank you for your well wishes, pardon my lapse of courtesy.
Take care of yourself Fascist Lilienne Anon, you are my hallmark of a good Disco thread. You have also not once been refuted.
Happy to hear it, and I certainly will. It's nothing too severe, just some nausea and stomach problems, I'm nearly back to normal health, thankfully. Appreciating the kind words once again, wish you all the best too.
>lol you believe in crytids what a fricking loon
>anyway let me tell you about the magic soul sapping amnesia smog that separates every continent
Ok seems like its the time to replay it for thr third time.
Inland empire sobermaxxdd facism, here i go
for me, it's when he doesn't say a thing. That's when I know he's salty.
Gays are like women, just ignore it and he will get over it.
QRD on game?
after playing the outer wilds and liking it i've decided i'll be giving the games i sometimes see shilled on Ganker a try
Think of it as a really text heavy psychological thriller with detective themes mixed with some political commentary and trying to fix a really fricked up life
Visual novel about a middle-aged cop with severe traumas and his buddy solving a crime case that turns out more complicated and bizarre than it initially seems.
Crpg with no combat and frickton of fully voiced dialogue. Lots of options and player agency. Sovlful setting and characters.
Avoid if you're a polchud since it was made by commies and has leftie bias(still less gay and pozzed than any AAA production)
The fascist path is the most kino path though
I played it for the first time within the past month. Also really enjoyed outer wilds. It's a solid game. Extremely memorable, but especially so in the sea of slop nowadays. Don't spoil it for yourself. Go in blind and just have a playthrough. The opening alone will grab you and make you want to finish.
I was going to play this but not anymore because of the shoehorned homosexual. Frick gays, hellfire awaits you degenerates.
>go full Physique + Motorics
>the skills have nothing to say
The physique skills are just as chatty as the psychology and intellect skills. They maybe don't drone on as long as encyclopedia or espirt de corps, but they're still pretty intrusive
motorics are bar-none the least interesting part of the game. literally what were they thinking?
They're also the most practical, constantly catching things people say and noticing shit like the serial number on the hanged man's boots, which opens up a huge set of modifiers for the tribunal. That said it is the least fun and they have very little personality, I can't argue with that
WHIRLING IN RAGS. HOME.
It's a dirty ass cafeteria, but it's your dirty ass cafeteria.
What the frick I don't think I ever went to the backroom visible on upper right
whilst you are arguing with Titus about Ruby's whereabouts i think either shivers or perception discovers something on the window, that something is a key to the backroom
Whirling in Rags..

Isn't Measurehead black?
Yes, and he's a moron for thinking israeliterat is one of the "good ones".
Redpill me on Dolores Dei.
She was a mass murderer and organ thief.
Elaborate.
Innocences steal ideas from the future to the past.
Favorite political vision quest?
Moralism has some very cool reveals and i love how it portrays the moralintern as basically aliens.
I love the Insulindian Phasmid. I don't even remember what it represents, but some of those dialogue lines are burned into my mind forever. Something about that whole scene just triggered something in me.
It represents having hope and belief in something even if it seems impossible.
Being told it's worth it to keep staying alive when the world is trying to prove you wrong is a comforting feeling. I'm no philosophist but her words about the world not giving a shit about the human condition was calming somehow, not nihilism but more like, being a human is such a vastly different experience and to her, the mere act of remembering what happened 1 second ago is a miracle
So a lot of things we worry about shouldn't matter in comparison. This game spurred me to appreciate nature more in a weird way even if it was about politics.
what's inside the pale? what happens if you drop a uranium anvil into it?
I finished my first playthrough without adopting any of the political thoughts. Did I miss much?
Laugh at this moralist for missing some of the best side quests.
Moralism is also a thought you need to adopt.
Why didn't you adopt any political thought?
Even centrism was too spicy for you?
I didn't have any slots left and didn't want to forget any of the others as all of them are useful.
You don't have to internalize them to get the side quest, just opt in.
but the moralist side quest is the best one anon
Not really. I won't dismiss the socio-political sympathies of the creators and the importance of politica to the story, but Harry's politics are another thing he uses as a shield for his own behavior and trauma, especially in the caricatured extremes he carries them to
My first playthrough I did the same. I went into it blind and didn't like any of the choices. Afterwards, I played the 4 quest lines. A political questline-less run only makes you miss out on things like extra money perks or more fleshed out npcs. For example the Moralist quest line ends the game if you do a certain dialogue, and if you do the opposite the game still carries on as if nothing happened, aside from Harry's internal monologue. The end chapter simply moves too fast to give a shit. i.e., Dros yelling at you stays relatively the same aside from I think calling you a pedo if you're a commie.
I wouldn't bash the 4 quests since I personally enjoyed the npcs expanded story, but you don't miss out on a lot. I'd say the only mandatory sidequest is the Cryptid one, if I was talking to a new player.
Fun fact, you can beat the game while failing to complete Titus/Klaasje/Evart/Joyce quest, just pick up the gun in the Abandoned area, and talk to the kids at the fisherman area once the game progresses to Friday, or whenever Joyce moves her boat. They tell you about the noises they hear and it leads you to the island. I think you need high Shivers & Perception though.
I tried savescumming through the massive factory wall mural check with Trant Heidelstam just to find out I can fail it and still get railroaded into passing the check with a modifier later on
Seethed a bit
I want to FRICK Joyce.
Sexy old hag
Harry isn't meant to be sexy, he is a fat old man that smells like death, booze and shit 24/7.
I can fix him.
No but seriously how do you not see this 2 meter tall, 10 meter long monstrosity.
It's implied the plasmid releases pheromones that cloud your perception, both in general and to her specifically
I want to have frick with you
>still has the gloves on
makes me laugh. I kept them on for a long time too.
>get the rubber gloves
>put them before the autopsy
>take them when I'm done
>put them when I'm going to search in the garbage
>take them off when I'm done
I'm a fricking autist.
I mean that would be more proper. Otherwise you're walking around talking to people with grimy autopsy gloves. like imagine talking to the bookstore girl with those gloves on
What's the worth?
Frick the universe 'til it hurts
I'm not used to this kinds of mental health
Issues, I just wanna live in a church
To find peace upon me brain
Dolores, please, just stop my pain
I know you think that this is a game, but it's not
Now watch me walk away (quick)
No one remembers me.
I do. ;_;
i forgor
I remember
he’s so cool…
supposing this is real (and it might as well be, Disco's been cancelled forever)
What type of schizo dimension do these people live in? I thought there was at least one big landmass somewhere, also there's probably more undiscovered areas as revachol was relatively recent IIRC. This is actually a really cool setting, even if you're basically just a cop in fantasy vancouver
Measurehead on that nofap.
Would you read it?
Honestly no. Just sounds like someone's Conan right wing fan fic.
Ok, what the frick *is* Disco?
It's two forms.
1. Basically a call back to what Disco Elysium would call their version of the 70s. Lots of synth and big ban ensembles. Lots of drugs.
2. The game's lampshading on players that want to have a "golden ending". A "Disco" option where ALL the problems are solved and Harry get's his happy ending. It's played on because obviously in reality there's very rarely such a thing as a "golden ending".
Can't wait for Wîrral Untethered to be released, it's going to be the best radio roleplaying game ever made.
>PERCEPTION [Challenging: Success] - There are no facial muscles that would allow one to narrow an eyebrow. This movement is physically impossible.
>SHIVERS [Easy: Success] - Whatever is standing in front of you is definitely NOT Kim Katsuragi.
Junior officer Cuno arriving on scene
it's weird, sometimes skillposting comes so naturally, and other times i just can't think of any good posts to make
>ELECTROCHEMISTRY [Easy: Success]: - Your creative tank has run empty. It craves to be filled. Now.
There's no way to get him to tell me a secret, is there?
Threaten him with your gun. He'll forgive you.
I cannot see the appeal in this and I am thinking it's solely in the humor.
Some people said this game was "anti-nihilist" if there was, I did not see it. Instead it just made me want to kill myself. And I couldn't even relate to the protag.
>if there
If it*
DID YOU SUCCUMB TO THE AL GHUL?
HARRY DID YOU PUT THE ALGHUL IN YOUR GOBLET OF DEGENERACY
measurehead asked calmly
how do you buy the street light? 700 real are too much
someone's not a networthy individual
can you spare a coin mr lightbending man?
He will. I played a month or so ago so I might be wrong, but I think it was at least 100 bucks. I didn't really have to worry about money after that, even ignoring Wompty Dompty whatever.
I bought the horrific necktie from the official DE store and wore it with my blue suit to a wedding I recently went to.
I got some many compliments about my "funky" tie.
It felt good bros
Did you bust a move?

he said calmly, his body visibly shaking with adrenaline from his gentle bellowing
Laughed my ass off when I got to sing karaoke in the bar for the first time.
The lack of ze price stabilité of vidya is disturbing.
gay
The dice maker girl is the best girl. Best personality, cutest voice.
I want to be Rejoyce Leyton-Messier's toy boy.
Imagine not naming the dance club "Disco Elysium"
Anons, I did a little speed. I hope you don't mind.
On a second playtrhough now as phy/mot instead of int/psy. Why do all the phy skills seem like they're trolling me and actively trying to get me to a bad end?
You're tainted by men of wö
Is there a doubt in your mind that that's going to make a fun playthrough?
Hyper to the mega.
literally who I had in mind when playing lol
If you know scooter it's hard to not think of that guy with all the references thrown in. They even referenced the fish price question!
It's weird, i really love Disco Elysium, mostly for its writing. I'm a somewhat avid book reader, i've read many classics and it honestly stands up even when compared to them, but i wouldn't really classify it as one of my favorite games of all time, simply because it's just not much of a game and my tastes overwhelmingly point towards "gamier" games. At the same time, so much of its narrative structure and writing only works BECAUSE it's a game. So Disco Elysium is one of my favorite... somethings. Not favorite book, not favorite game, just one of my favorite "things", i suppose.
You're not alone, same boat. I like how it puts whole genre of walking simulators to shame, even if it is somewhat as linear as most.
Try Pathologic 1/2, similar vibes.
Though I would say they're more gamey.
same. I would never put it above something like rain world, where you are engaged in mechanical gameplay nearly 100% of the time, but it is in a league of its own. I guess what I'm trying to say is that VNs aren't vidya
It is it's own kind of work, yeah. I'm still annoyed no one is ever going to translate Kurvitz's novel, because I bet it would be great
Reminder that the true threat isn't ignorant consumers or greedy executives, but their governments enabling them.
I love the art for the Skill's portraits, but I loathe everything else about this game.
I still didn't get around to hanging this...
Put points in Volition.
Put points in Half Light
Start with only 1 point in everything
This line kills me every time. That and Goracy Kubek.
was really weirdly pissed off all day today but this thread made me laugh and I feel a lot less tense
thank you discobros
A healthy dose of Volition ;]
+1 Morale
>beat game for the first time a month ago as kind of generic good cop
>ready for 2nd playthrough
>decide to do polar opposite, full drug addict
>all body and shivers baby
>leave motel room
>talk to klaasje
>do the expression at her
>harry has a moment of clarity and asks if the longing ever stops
>klaajse says something else and then walks away
>"And no... It never stops."
god I'm already engaged in DE all over again
