>2 warns people about Koreans
>Goes ahead and casts a Korean as Kiryu
What are SEGA thinking?
why do americans play games and watch anime with dubbed voices instead of the original
it's understandable when you're a kid but adults using dubs is just weird
illiteracy
Poor mental development
>these subs are what the characters would be saying if they were speaking English
>but they aren't speaking English tho
easy
>OH NO MY BRAIN IS TOO SLOW TO PROCESS THE INFORMATION IN FRONT OF ME QUICKLY ENOUGH
>THIS IS WHY DUBBING IS SUPERIOR AND THEREFORE I'M BETTER THAN YOU BECAUSE MY BRAIN IS MORE moronic THAN YOURS!!!
>I like to watch the action the whole time
>HURR DURR IF IT'S NOT SUBBED YOU ARE moronic!!!!!!!
kys
yeah i bet you like to watch the action the whole time while your mom gets fricked by Black folk
I unironically do the left thing when I have subs since I'm so used to it I don't have to force my eyes to go down
what is peripheral vision
>what is focus
>can't focus on reading and watching at the same time
I hope you don't have a driver's license moron lol
go ahead and try to read a book and drive god why are people like you so moronic
20% of the american population are functionally illiterate. Can't imagine how many more still passed their literacy test but still hate "reading the subtitles" because they might still be bad at it.
Their excuse of
>I can't pay attention to what's going on
Is just a cope because motherfrickers have piss poor reading speed.
Because people here complain that they can't relate to the characters because they're not speaking English, can't understand the language so they have to constantly be focusing on the subs, can't read the subs fast enough, they want to be able to understand the game when they turn their head away, they don't want to be reading during action, and a bunch of other things.
If you want another one, I read an article a couple weeks back about someone being elitist about not having subtitles on during movies because it "Takes away from the movie because you have to constantly be reading" and was completely flabbergasted because they were acting like you can't instantly absorb what you just read and as if you read at all. It's like people who are older than like 40, maybe 50 can't grasp why anyone would find them useful.

It's not just Americans, Germany is big into dubs too (and German dubs are goated)
no one cares, the "games" sell like shit
ishin remake sold like shit because it's objectively a shit remake of the original game. they fricked up way too much with it.
>remake of one of the most popular games of all time vs remake of a japanese only spin-off from a franchise not that popular outside of Japan
Not to mention
>First game in the series to change the title to the japanese moniker
I guarantee you if it were named Yakuza: Ishin! it would have more players.
Did that really have an impact? Holy shit Americans are moronic
Name brand recognition is stupidly important in the US.
homie you can't just suddenly change the name of a game series that's been planted in the ground and recognize by everyone by that name you chose for nearly 15 years and then expect people to know what the frick it is.
I guarantee you if they suddenly decided to change the name of the games from "Mario" to "Jumpman" most people would have no fricking idea it's the same thing anymore unless they see it.
My rage will be infinite when I actually start playing and hear some generic voice come out of Kiryu.
I instead want to focus on the positives.
>I instead want to focus on the positives.
Kson nude mods?
she will be blacked
she not attractive and shes fricking annoying
who cares? Nobody's ever going to hear him talk with the proper settings.
Video games, stupid homosexual, VIDEO GAMES.
The literal main character, of a long running series is getting an official English voice, only the voice actor is an inappropriately cast YouTuber and it's not videogame related? Nani?!
Only played 0 so far. Feel like doing 3 next. What am I in for?
he's such an obnoxious moron
>secret koreans once again
how very meta
he definitely paid sega to let him be kiryu
that’s the only explanation for acting like this
>dubgays
Watched a streamer play with subs. By the end, he missed half the cutscenes and didnt know what was going on cause he spent all the time reading the subs. He didn't know how to pronounce any names.
But hey, at least he didnt play dub!
stop watching subhuman IQ morons
>By the end, he missed half the cutscenes and didnt know what was going on cause he spent all the time reading the subs
I assume he was reading them out loud, like most YT homosexuals do. Since it only takes a fraction of the time to read the line in your head, it'd be more distracting for a semi-literate to recite instead.
Dubs are trash and don't belong in the 21st century. If you can't read at an adult level, just have a nice day.
low quality bait
I refuse to buy the game solely to not give my money to him.
he was already paid, so the money just goes into SEGA's pockets but you're still right now to buy it. don't support their choice to pull crap like this.
They followed the path of the e-celeb and are on the decline. They brought it upon themselves.
>see buck-tooth yellow person on street eating a dog after beating up an elderly homeless man
>"WTF!? NANI!? KIRYU-CHAN!?"
>say hey, no response
everytime...
why do koreans in america feel entitled to japanese roles?
because they want to overwrite japanese ethnicity
Should've exterminated them when they had the chance. Worthless people. All that money and they cant make one decent video game.
>Ganker is having a constant outrage over an english dub for a game where people would certainly use Japanese voice as their default option
Why ?
I used to try to tolerate the Koreans and act positively towards them but then i saw how they act irl and boy, they are some of the most pathetic, disgusting, insecure and obsessive human being that i have ever seen in my entire life.
I don't know who this is and I'd never listen to dubs anyway

LEAKED VOICE OF YONG YEA AS KIRYU!
How did they put out 8 Yakuza games so quickly?
0 came out in like 2017
Black person
they overworked their japanese employees to death. you don't just get to that level without some sweat and sacrifice.
>Kenzan to Dead Souls all used the same engine.
>5 to FotNS all used the same engine.
>6 to LJ all used the same engine.
>Kamurocho, Sotenbori, and Ijincho all get used repeatedly with minor changes to their structure or available buildings so all they really do is update some signs and maybe a couple bits of the map.
The Kamurocho in 0 is the one from 5, and the Sotenbori in 0 is the same one from 5 even though it makes no sense when it comes to the park since that was from BP2 and 5 while the area where Sunshine is was only introduced in 5 and didn't exist in 2.
>They reuse a bunch of their minigames and just slightly polish them with new rules, new hands, or remixes.
Quick example being they didn't introduce a majority of the Cee-lo hands until I think either 4 or Dead Souls and you didn't get numbers on the mahjong tiles until I want to say 0.
>Many of the enemy and boss movesets are reused, with some in LJ still being from 3.
https://docs.google.com/document/d/1LUIlUZ7P8JgcIVbEWFM-0n9dIgT0qZdQT1PnkvPcUDo/
Case and point, Tamashiro Pistol moveset is still in LJ.
>They're made on a shoestring budget since they spent nearly their entire life subsisting on 500k sales or less per game, with stuff like K1 and K2 hovering near the 200-300k range until they got released in the west.
They're not AA games, they're not AAA games, they're A games at best and even that's stretching it.
ching chong nip nong
This has to be one of the dumbest “controversies” that I’ve seen on this miserable board in quite a while. That guy is a gay and ecelebs are all cancer, but if you’re not playing Yakuza with the original Japanese voice acting then you’re doing it WRONG. In fact, you shouldn’t be playing any of these games at all and should frick off back to Fortnite or whatever other plebshit you were playing before your favorite eceleb recommended Yakuza to you.
You'll get used to his voice. And once he inevitably gets replaced by the third voice actor, you'll be begging for him to return
The resemblance is uncanny. He really is the live action Kiryu
When we finally hear it most of what we see about it online will probably be mocking videos and talk about how horrible it sounds.
Dude probably thinks he got this great gig, but this might end his career before it even started.
People were saying the same about him voicing Pucci in JoJo and nothing happened.
Because no one watches anime in English anymore.
Just here to laugh at dubcels
DubBlack folk get what they deserve

His voice acting is genuinely awful... Just a few seconds in here you can see the scene starting to have those action speedlines with the colored background and he's clearly supposed to start the sentence off by basically yelling it out but he just talks like normal, not matching the intensity of the background then still ends up with not even a proper yell but just some whispery shit as if he's trying not to wake his parents up.
Then around the end of the clip the emotion is supposed to sound like someone who is really pleased or in some type of bliss or whatever from what they're hearing/experiencing but he just narrates as if dead inside. Absolute garbage. How the frick are people unable to tell this sounds like shit?
>read news article word for word
>read reddit thread about news article word for word
>k thanks for the ad revenue YOOOOONG OUUUT
Unless studio recording can alter his voice a little, I think his voice doesn't fit Kiryu.
dead franchise
what happened to this series?
why does everyone say "like a dragon" now?
"Like a Dragon" is what the series is called in Japanese. For whatever moronic fricking reason they decided to rebrand it from the well known "Yakuza" name to the one they use in Japan as well.
Personally I feel like they might've done that due to Nagoshi, the original producer and director of the series being fired and the term "Yakuza" for the games in the West was associated with him so they switched it over to "Like a Dragon" so they games start being associated with the new director instead.
Either, moronic decision. It's as if they suddenly decided to switch the name from "Resident Evil" to the Japanese counterpart "Biohazard". People wouldn't know it's supposed to be a new Resident Evil.
