It's a shame because it's based on a really cool family of spiders. They use their webs to make nets they hold with the forelimbs to grab and enmesh prey in.
He didn't have to be amazing, but I wish they'd made him in gen 5.

And then the stats came out and it's Kricketune 2.
God, they shafted Tarountula SO FRICKING HARD on top of a completely dogshit idea of execution for an ogre-faced spider with beyond-abysmal stats.

I like the idea of this design, a humanoid looking spider that uses thread to lay traps, but the actual execution is god awful and it looks like some shitty calarts character.

Love how it is a different take on a spidermon. Nothing reddeming about the stats but this game is easy enough and not every pokemon will be meta relevant.

Did they think they’d have the next aeigslash if they have it even remotely decent stats because of its signature move?

Masquerain is waaay better than it for webs since it has intimidate and most speed.
It sucks both in battle and design. I have no idea why they'd do this.
I can only think of one way people will be able to use it...
Statwise it's equivalent to Parasect, Ariados, Kriketune etc so it's not entirely surprising.
