Hopefully now that they've secured their funding hopefully they now have the means to properly construct Swen's Magnum Opus: the Dragon Knight Saga.
Game with amazing ambition that just fell short on a technical level.
It's such a smart move to do.
Release a small chunk of content in EA - not enough to spoil too much, but enough to test game mechanics and major bugs.
Get money from that EA to fund development and get free testing from thousands of people.
I knew it would pay off for them.
Swen said he wanted to work on something smaller in scope next before taking on a massive project again. There might be some side-DLC for BG3 - probably nothing that brings you over lv.12 though, as the DnD rules get difficult to impliment in a balanced way after that.
I'd fricking love it if EA let them licence Dragon Age after they shutter Bioware but it's a fricking pipedream.
Probably going to be forced to make DnD modules until they go out of business.
WotC is using them to test their own module system (they want to undo tabletop simulator).
>now that these guys are at FromSoft level of known and loved devs, what's next for them?
They either choke and get bought out by rat faced coin counters or keep on trucking for another 10 years until the core people who are passionate leave because of family/age/burnout and get slowly replaced by incompetent ideologues or 9-5 "professionals" who are SO SO PASSIONATE about working at the vaunted LARIAN STUDIOS who will inevitably end up lowering the quality of games.
Are those the guys who were mad at their players for picking human male characters in a game where every other race is just a human with a gimmick, like human but green or human but short?
Can't believe you anons are still pretending that was the point of the post.
It was literally just a standard "hello fellow gamers, looking through the stats we found something we thought was funny" kind of marketing post.
There was a tiny bit of snark in it but you're reaching a lot to imply they were mad about it. It was clearly more of a "we made a fantasy game with all these carefully designed races and fantastical creatures, but in the end 80% of you just picked an average human".
They were just poking fun at how uncreative the players were, but I guess humor is illegal in your crowd at this point.
DLCs and or Baldurs Gate 4 and/or Icewind Dale 3 and/or NWN 3 (?) and/or some other D&D related project.
Hasbro and WotC are so greedy they even EA, Ubi, Blizzard and mobile companies combined are like: Wow, calm down. Doubt they let this much money "escape".
why does he have a nerf dart stuck on his head lmao
it keeps reminding me of that old CWC video where he shoots this dude's picture with his Megatron pistol
Im hoping for a different genre and definetely a different setting than medieval fantasy.
Shadowrun rpg that plays a bit like mass effect but smaller in scope and immersive sim-y
It took them 6 years to create a Divinity Clone with a D&D skin. Divinity is great and all and I'm glad more people are getting acquainted to it, but don't expect them to pump out games back to back. The next game is Divinity 3, so expect a new property to come out in a decade from now.
Divinity: Original Sin 3
The game they were actually going to make, instead of repurposing it to be Baldur's Gate 3.
They just cancelled a Divinity game
I doubt they're going back to the series so soon now that they're more widely recognized with Baldur's Gate
WoTC will probably use them to make more D&D based games imo
Probably making another game
HOLY SHIT
probably dos3
Neverwinter Nights 3
I WISH
And it better be like NWN1 and the expansions, none of that NWN2 slop.
Hordes of the Underdark was absolutely great.
Crashing hard when disappointed normies don't buy their next game

Baldur's Gate 3 2
Pulling a CDPR/Cyberpunk and losing all that trust and love with a shitty release on their next game
it seems that they learned from CP77 release and just left the game in EA for like 3 years
It's such a smart move to do.

Final Fantasy XVII please.
I think they were gonna make xcom but divinity original sin before this
as much as i'd prefer dos3 to baldur's gate 3, it feels like dos3 wouldn't be nearly as popular. so idk what they're gonna do

legend of dragoon 2
Too bad we'll never have a cyberpunk themed CRPG that's as polished as BG3.

Considering that amount of clipping that occurs with the pointed ears, horns, tails, and so on, I don't think those options were carefully designed.
they should make a new franchise
Probably about a black disabled transgenderfluid 10 year old child who dindu nuffin.
Be the face of WOTC & DnD
Do Baldur's Gate 4 from 12 to 20
Do Spelljammer game
Do Eberron
Do blabla
Just make more D&D games
>Do Eberron
I'd rather they not homosexual up the only good D&D setting.
>Do Baldur's Gate 4 from 12 to 20
Absolute BS the level of threat you stop at lvl 12
No way it gets bigger than that
I hope they stick to D&D, its just comfier than the OS games system. But in all likelihood its Divinity OS 3 next
Baldurs Gate 3 with proper combat system

rehashing the same game over and over and over again.
OH WAIT they're already doing so.

Dragon Commander 2
It's not gonna be but I wish it was
They've had one of the most kino character development arc for a gaming studio, going from making AA eurojank kino to potential GOTY material
