>stupidly try holding on to a huge hand >deal in an obvious tile with like 2 draws left >lose some more points to a couple tsumos >deal in to moronic wait nobody should ever take, knocked down to 900 points >alt+f4
Frick mahjong.
>Lose old account >Make new one >Absolutely curbstomp my way to one-flower expert. >%5 deal-in rate, just unstoppable aegis of defense willing to dump hands on a sniff of a threat. Lucky turn-arounds and all kinds of shit. >Sudden 15-game losing streak.
This happened last time at the same damn time. I wouldn't mind if it was at a threshhold but I'm playing the same fricking adepts I was playing yesterday. Its like the discard pile karma builds and suddenly seeks to consume me. Everyone else gets Tsumo, I lose 3-wait tenpai to 1-waits and one time a 1-wait 1 tile left. I see my first thirteen orphans by discarding a wind...to someone else. (very nice though I like when other people get Yaku) I just, aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
I don't have any! I haven't won a single fricking hand in at least 5 games and I'm doing the exact same thing! >Follow anpai/efficient discard pattern modified by what other people are doing and what's in my hand. If I'm terminal-heavy and nobody drops a terminal in their first turn I might go in that direction. I might hold onto a prevalent or seat wind a little longer if there's isn't an immediately efficient tenpai. >If I think someone is even close to a hand and my hand isn't at least a 2 wait: Doomp et. Unless I'm already fricked and need to win/get second >If I'm ahead by a reasonable margin: I no longer care. I will dump 100% safely. >I will lean towards using dora over forming high-han: You can open a dora-heavy hand and make bank more easily than hope you get what you need for a closed hand.
But it doesn't matter, I might be/am terrible! but even if I was good I can't fricking survive against three other players who have goddamn tsumo magnet hands and can pluck what they need from the fricking ether.
It's hard. I don't know if I should fricking recommend anything, but I also recommend avoiding the temptation of riichi on a 1-wait if you can realistically aim for anything that would give you 2 or more. Sometimes you just wanna push the button but you'll have seen yourself other tiles could have come later to put you in a way better position.
Oh I always get my pair out of the way early: Waiting on a sequence is 2-wait of different tiles (hopefully not just 1 in the middle) wheras if the last thing you're waiting on is a pair you're waiting on 1 tile and its one you already have a reduced chance of seeing because you hold a tile.

To be perfectly honest if you're having trouble against adepts and experts you're probably not as good as you think you are
DUDE i just LOVE the hustle and bustle of Riichi City, it’s so DYNAMIC and makes me feel like i’m in one of my favourite MAHJONG ANIMES. you should totally come on down to my studio apartment, it’s got TATAMI MAT floors and everything, we can crack open a nice cola or three and get crazy watching some Akagi on crunchyroll! and dude, dude, DUDE, we have GOTTA go down to the jansou- listen here, right, it’s a MAHJONG PARLOR where we can play MAHJONG. BUT!!!! it’s also got TOURNAMENT ROOMS, so we can play awesome TOURNAMENTS, without dumb nyaggers bothering us. speaking of which ichihime and i have finally decided to untie the knot- literally -we’re both getting unsnipped tomorrow at the hospital, that way I can have tons of hot baby making sex with ISSHIKI. i’m frickin JACKED man, i’m gonna SLAM this milk tea and pop open another one!!!
>Anyone who can calculate fu manually is a goddamn fricking Chinese mafia vampire.
It's piss easy when you know the tricks, especially since nearly every hand is either 30 or 40. Tsumo or open ron? It's probably 30, unless there are multiple ankou and at least one is honor/terminal or there's a yakuhai pair or whatever you don't even really have to count. Closed ron? It's probably 40, with the same checks. Over time you'll get very quick at checking the fu sources and just being able to see "that's not enough to put it over" and you can just go with the default.
Just throw away tiles that are 9s,1s or funny pictures until a gold button appears and press it.
Congratulations, you will depart novice in about a day.
I am.
in FFXIV
literally impossible to find a game
in EU and JP it's alright
>it's simple
>stupidly try holding on to a huge hand
>deal in an obvious tile with like 2 draws left

>deal in to moronic wait nobody should ever take, knocked down to 900 points

Frick mahjong.
>play like a moron
>lose
>blame the game
As expected of Ganker
>Lose old account

nah it's good advice but i already try to play like that but you cant beat a nyagger getting a double riichi
To be perfectly honest if you're having trouble against adepts and experts you're probably not as good as you think you are
Thanks Ganker for lowering the bar below the fricking floor. That's not messed up.
>making a mahjong thread when the servers are down
nyagger...

Take the Riichi City pill
Buy an auto table
The table isn't the problem, it's calculating fu
Anyone who can calculate fu manually is a goddamn fricking Chinese mafia vampire.

Also, pinfu? 20 if tsumo, 30 if ron.
NICE TRY NOSFUMANCHU HAVE A TASTE OF THIS.
>The table isn't the problem, it's calculating fu
you DO have your mahjong abacus at the ready, right?
why buy when i can just go to a mahjong parlor?
So it can collect dust just like my mahjong set?
They need to make one of these for chess
literally why
to set up the board after a game?
It isn't even remotely slow or irritating to set up a chess board
Someone find a way to make this work with sushi and I'll buy one.
I can't. I have no idea how to play.
Just throw away tiles that are 9s,1s or funny pictures until a gold button appears and press it.

>majsoul is down
come join the Hustle and Bustle of Riichi City
We are truly hustling and bustling.
my best hand was riichi tanyao dora 4
Four quads
Or a 13 dorabomb if you count that
I'm trying to learn I just feel really dumb about it
Learn one yaku at a time. Play games.
playing mahjong is like going into the hyperbolic time chamber for anger, i hit anger levels that should take hours within minutes
thats for autistic boys working at walmart or postal service or 50 year old japanese women
