Handlet or not, they force your thumb into an unnatural position.

Eh. You're right but the games I've had to use them for have the trackpad as your only input basically, so you never reposition your hand and it feels less awkward that way.
>steam deck has perfect button and stick positions, also neat trackpad alternatives. >bugmen STILL copy the switch layout in hopes to confuse a potential console buyer in china.
why are chinks like this
There's no way anyone can confuse any of Ayaneo's products over the Switch. Mainly because they're way more expensive than any Switch model, even the AYANEO AIR which is them at their cheapest.
>gamers clamor for touchpads >Ayyneo adds them as an afterthought >they're so low you can't comfortably use them during gameplay
Did valve trademark the side by side button/stick layout with touchpads underneath or are chinks just employing planned obsolescence at lightspeed so consumers by the next handheld that is slightly less shitty than the last?
I wonder if one day those Steam Deck killers will realize that the biggest appeal of the steam deck is being affordable, not bet able to run shit at 4k, they'll never come even close to being a real competitor while they still cost a lot more
The problem that these Windows OEMs have is that they have an extra $100 or more tacked on by the required software and patent licensing in their contract with Microsoft, so they have a higher base price than can be achieved by Linux companies like Valve.
This is the whole reason why Windows lost the Phone and the low-end laptop market to Android/Linux and GNU/Linux distributions like ChromeOS, and is now losing the handheld market to SteamOS.
Even when Microsoft tries something like offering Windows for free to OEMs making small cheap devices, OEMs are often reluctant to take the offer because they know that after the first one is free and the market is more established Microsoft will want to take all the profit from the devices for themselves.
The SteamDeck won't get killed cause all those chink ripoffs fail to actually put any effort into the system itself.
The Steam Deck works cause SteamOS is optimized for it. Windows 10/11 are terrible for portable devices. This one having trackpads won't make Windows better to navigate. They should come up with their own different OS in order to get the most out of the hardware but that would take money and way more effort. Building 1000 plastic devices with Windows slapped on them and shipping them out is easy - actually having a support team which develops the software costs a lot of money and time and nobody seems to be willing to invest there.
It's funny because Aya has shown interest in adopting SteamOS in the past and were supposed to put it on the AYANEO 2 but apparently that was scrapped and now there's radio silence. The morons saying we'll "lose compatibility" have no clue what they're talking about either. There are so few games that won't actually just werk with proton 8.
It's odd too since I the only Windows handheld that actually seems to have official SteamOS support is the Win600, and that handheld is severely outdated specs-wise. I dont know if these chinese companies are waiting for SteamOS to get an official public release to shove it on their systems or what, but it would really help out because Windows bloat probably doesn't help performance and drains the battery on top of that.
Cause SteamOS is optimized for the Deck specifically. There is no general SteamOS 3.0 for any system available yet.
Sure. They could literally put the SteamDeck OS version on their own chink handheld but in order for it to actually work they would also have make pretty much an exact copy of the Steamdeck.
And then you ask yourself - Do you want a Steamdeck or do you want a Steamdeck (China)? The latter might not even be cheaper and even if it is - if something is going wrong they would have to refer you to Valve for support as they have no way of influencing the system. WIth Windows nobody gives a frick.
>Cause SteamOS is optimized for the Deck specifically.
Somewhat true, but it is really just that SteamOS doesn't include Nvidia's proprietary drivers. All these other handhelds right now are using hardware supported by Mesa. With Intel or AMD graphics.
There really isn't any 'secret sauce' in SteamOS, ChimeraOS is already essentially a public release of SteamOS in all but name, and there is also Nobara for handhelds from the guy that does ProtonGE.
The real reason is because these OEMs have contracts with Microsoft that gives them cheaper prices for Windows, which they need on other products they sell, but for handhelds where Windows is definitively a worse choice requires that they pay a Patent license on any systems sold with Linux.
Where the patent license costs more than the Windows license. So they just ship Windows on all their devices.
Steamdeck: Arch-based UNIX system
Switch/3DS: Proprietary Nintendo OS based on UNIX
PS4/PS5: Proprietary Sony OS based on UNIX
XBOX: Specifically tailored XBOX OS which is loosely based on a heavily cut down Windows 8 core
Their competition: "Let's put Windows on our device - an operation system which is exclusively tailored towards huge desktop PCs with no actualtrackpad or touchpad support with menus and options that expect you to use a keyboard and mouse with tons of useless bloatware that isn't needed for gaming running in the background
Say what you will about the Asus Ally, but it made all of these Chinese windows handhelds irrelevant. You can walk into best buy today and buy a device with better support and a lower price than any other windows handheld on the market.
more like rip switch
>rip switch
>IN CURRENT YEAR OF OUR LORD 2024
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
I'm waiting until they release the KUN-E.
for me it's the AYANEO™ KUNNY®
>Windows
LOL, no.
ywnbaw
Thank you Bill, very cool
But how about Linux handheld?
>asymmetrical joysticks on a small handheld
She definitely can't wait to get her hands on a new Kun
Can it harness the power to tell me why Tiananmen square protest turned into Tiananmen square massacre though
Good morning sir
Battery life ?
I can already tell these things are unusable based off position alone.
Yah so?
It looks better has 2x the battery and the screen isent trash
Pic unrelated
According to the Youtubers they're not that bad but they're also not as good as the Steam Deck's. And handlets need not apply.
The steam deck's trackpad positioning was already pretty bad to begin with.
Nah as a handlet they're actually perfect for me. Granted I only really use them in clicker games. Gyro and backbuttons are way more useful.
Handlet or not, they force your thumb into an unnatural position.
Eh. You're right but the games I've had to use them for have the trackpad as your only input basically, so you never reposition your hand and it feels less awkward that way.
>$1700
I'm literally selling mine
same, SteamDeck is already wildly redundant and won't be able to play starfield on launch
>asymmetrical sticks
>xbox layout face buttons
>that """Dpad"""
>too small to matter touchpads
>>
that dpad looks very xbox
>steam deck has perfect button and stick positions, also neat trackpad alternatives.
>bugmen STILL copy the switch layout in hopes to confuse a potential console buyer in china.

The power of coon
ZA PAWAA OF KUNT
>gem
Shill homosexual.
Bros. Is the PTM7950 on Amazon legit? Or is better to get it from moddiy?
Without Steam Deck, there wouldn't be a sudden arms race for this technology.
KUN will be better than Steam Deck but it's going to cost like $1200. You will have to decide if it's actually worth that much or not.
>chinkshit
>wangblows 11
>40% of cpu eaten by telemetry
lol
Let me guess, it costs almost twice the price of s stream deck?
This. It's a given that it will cost over a thousand dollars. The heat will probably melt something, too.
And this push for putting windows on these handhelds because the average user is afraid of anything else is lol
No it costs $1200 lmfao. It's like they've learned literally nothing.
More like literally nobody cares about Chinkshit companies anymore lol. Why buy this over an Ally, and why buy the Ally over a refurbed Deck?
rip on 'eck
Why would I buy chinkshit decks if I can get Valve quality hardware for half the price?
>Steam Deck Killer #77
>this time we mean it
>flops

I don't understand why they can't just slap steamos on it, surely it would be a cheaper option than having a windows licence

Price you absolute moron. Anything above 400 doesn't compete. The Deck is cheap enough to target casuals, the actual market that matters.
>trackpads
At least they're learning. Really slowly.
Look who FINALLY got touchpads.
I'm waiting to see how Lenovo's upcoming handheld turns out. These small companies have awful customer support.
Wtf is up with the position of those trackapads, it looks incrediblly uncomfortable.

The Aloy is still a good product if you just invest in a big SSD and ignore the sd card slot. A big SSD will be cheaper $/gb anyway.
