    How do I build Jae?

      Anonymous

Either pick grand strategist if you have no other buffing officer to kickstart things, or m master tactician to do damage and buff a bit sharing her stacks. Bring it down is still good.

      Anonymous

Depends, does your comp need a pure buffbot or some support + damage?
If former go grand strategist if latter go master tactician.

      Anonymous

Wrong board. You have to go to Ganker for bodybuilding advice. Or maybe ask a Haemonculi

      Anonymous

you kinda have to go for master tactician.
grand strategist is mostly for cassia/psykers because they have a lot of strong origin talents and abilities to pick instead of the dogshit GS ones
Master tactician is legit powerful on it's own and works well with the pistol talents that jae already comes with
      Vanguard is dogshit

      Anonymous

Lol officer lmao. Do whatever you want you will still be busted.
Buffs and extra turns are where you want to put your feats, who gives a frick about anything else.
Tactician/strategist choice basically boils down to only wanting one strategist per party so she'll probably be a tactician. But again, specifcs don't matter because if your argenta takes 3-6 turns per turn and absorbs buffs from all of that you'll be bursting down anything aside from act bosses with specific anti-one-shot mechanics.

      Anonymous

Early you use her as a generic Officer, which is still good.
Later once you've gotten your trading levels up she's turbo broken and becomes an unstoppable combat juggernaut who can go Master Tactician or Vanguard because of Cold Trader's Acumen. Even with the handicap of being a combat unit with 16 levels in Officer she still has insane stats across the board. Seriously, read this shit
      >Drusians: +(2x reputation level) % to all resistance tests and +(4x reputation level) to Lore (Imperium)
      >Explorators: +(2x reputation level) % to armour and +(4x reputation level) to Tech-Use
      >Kasballica Mission: +(2x reputation level) % to dodge and parry and +(4x reputation level) to Commerce
      >Fellowship of the Void: +(2x reputation level) % to critical hit chance and +(4x reputation level) to Coercion
      >The Imperial Navy: +(2x reputation level) % to cover efficiency and +(4x reputation level) to Persuasion

        Anonymous

For anyone who doesn't want to read all that, she can reach Armour and/or Dodge numbers no one else can when you max the Explorators and/or Kasballica. She's also basically unhittable in cover due to the Navy bonus and has nearly 100% crit chance when you get Fellowship up.
By the time you're in Act 4 she's the literal strongest unit, even more so than Cassia.

I liked it personally, had great character development and some interesting Deldar tidbits. I wish it was longer and we had some quests to help meddle in Kabal politics. And that you got to talk more in depth with companions with more reactivity and options regarding certain events such as Argenta's reveal and companions real time reacting to Yrliet's betrayal. Plus the option for some more "hurt" dialogue if the PC romanced her.

It's great and should be longer and have more areas, quests etc.

I liked it, and I liked that Yrilet didn't actually betray me she just fell for a trap and dragged me down with her.

I wish there was a way to explain that to the other crew though, rather than saying nothing, even if not giving them the details. Because my RT seems like an absolutely insane moron for keeping her around from their perspective.

It doesn't help but you can explain it to Heinrix and Marz even helpfully proves it to him with facts and logic (yes, really). But yeah you really should have the option to fricking tell everyone.

extend it,it's a legit crime that it's so small.
from untouchable galatic merchant prince to an slave not worth shit...is great,Act 3 here imo is where your PC decides what he fights for:
      For Faith and Humanity?-Dogmatic
For Freedoom and Loved ones? - Iconoclast
For em Dark Gahds? - Heretic

The early parts are confusingly structured. Like Nocturne says I have to fight in the arena to impress the Haemonculus, but turns out I just did that seconds ago by accident. He says the Haemonculus can help me escape, but escape seems pointless when the maggot will kill me soon. Turns out the Haemonculus CAN remove the maggot, but that's not what Nocturne said. So I don't feel like I have a goal I'm working towards. More like I'm bumbling around at random. It needed another editing pass.

They don't need to do that. One of the Gaunt's Ghosts novels has a part where the titular regiment is defending some ancient Eldar temple against a Chaos incursion, and the Eldar arrive to help - they make the Guardsman hallucinate they are in fact defending their doomed homeworld and long-dead friends and loved ones, and as a result they achieve a kill ratio of 900:1. They perform such a massacre, in fact, that the Munitorum deems it impossible, and strikes their achievements from official records.

Did guys on Janus mind control rebels btw? I don't recall such staff and it seemed more manipulation, tho it's reasonable to assume that some amount of telepathic brainwashing was used

One thing that's annoying is when he joins the Yrliet lynch mob you can ask him what you should do about him i.e. the guy who failed to notice his agent was working for Drukhari and he just cuts you off because Scalander got killed. Yes but that's not what the question was, you're the guy who made me keep the dude and it's your fricking job to know basic shit like how you can't trust someone drukhari fricked with, and this after another guy got drukhari on your ship for the same reason. Oh and Scalander lies to your face at the palace and Jimmi doesn't notice or doesn't tell you.

Honestly they should have just made the dude betray you either way, it wasn't really necessary for Yrilet's story. But it's fine, and when you actually get an explanation from her, it's pretty nice.

And I saw how indifferent you were to the troubles of my kind. What else was I to do? Of the two sorrows, I chose the one that was closer to my blood."

I can only buy it for one reason and that's Scalander being Emelina's agent and Jimi is extremely biased about anything Emelina related, like maybe he knows but he's deep in denial. But that's still ignoring how it should have been suspicious to him that Scalander kept getting such accurate info but never bothered to check up on that, compare with how Marazhai instantly knew, well that's more about Jimi being shit at his job.

Reminder that RT failed to notice any signs in Achilleas' behavior as well. Even when he invites you to the station, personally.

      Anonymous

      Even better:
you can pass a check to realize he was tortured for a long time in a non-lethal way.
You know from Clementia that Achilleas almost never left the palace so he was stuck there when the attack started, but Achilleas lies and tells you he was at the Administratum and rushed to the palace when it started.
Achilleas lies that the drukhari didn't ask him anything and Heinrix also claims that the drukhari wouldn't have known he was from the Inquisition. But you were told straight up by Marazhai that he's sure drukhari are feeding you info, you're told by several people and can even say that the drukhari assault is weird and implies they want something in the palace, and you know the drukhari leave after you get there with nothing else apparently accomplished. But no one figures out the obvious "Marazhai was right about the info pipeline and came here to find the source which was Achilleas".

What happens, I never got that far. It's not really Achilleas' fault even, someone (RT, Jimmi) should have put 2 and 2 together and kept him the frick away from sensitive info or at least had someone tail him. I did the initial part at the station and Marazhai of all people told me not to be so harsh on the poor guy because no one could have resisted that. So really it's more Jimmi's fault than Achilleas'

          During the ambush
The xenos turns his attention to someone else. "You have proven quite useful, mon-keigh. An uncanny quality for your kind." He is speaking to Achilleas, who is lying nearby, his pale face contorted in terror and pain, and his eyes wide open and tearful. "I may find other uses for you in the future."
"Damn... you..." Heinrix growls hoarsely as he tries to get up, driven more by rage than by physical strength. "I... will strangle... you both... myself..."
Marazhai nonchalantly kicks the arm Heinrix is using to prop himself up and he tumbles to the ground. "That seems unlikely, mon-keigh. Both of your fates are now mine to decide."
"Forgive... Forgive me, Master van Calox..." Achilleas's voice is trembling with sorrow and regret.
          - Achilleas! You vile traitor!
"Y-Your Lordship|Ladyship, I..." Achilleas shakes his head, grimacing from the pain wrought by the poison gas.

In cumrag, Trev turns him into a bouncer
Heinrix staggers back as if from a blow. His unblinking gaze is fixed on the monster in front of you. "Scalander?"
The monster lets out a distressed howl in Achilleas's voice. "Master van Calox, you are alive... I hoped death had taken you before those monsters could do to you what they had done to me...
Heinrix clenches his fists. "I see the xenos' minion has been handsomely rewarded for his treachery. I had a sliver of hope that I might still be lucky enough to kill you myself... but I will not do so now. No, not by any means. To languish in this... form... and be deprived of His light is a far greater punishment than any I could devise." Heinrix spits on the ground in disgust. "Damn you, Achilleas. Damn. You."
A sound erupts from the monster's throat, a distorted, mangled, but still recognisable human sob.
            - Heinrix was never more wrong than when he chose such a pathetic creature to be his agent.
"You are right, {name}." Heinrix's voice rings with shame. "It is my fault. I did not see the weakness in time."

            In the camp
            - Achilleas betrayed us.
Heinrix says nothing, making no attempt to hide the bitterness on his face. "Accepting that is... unbearable for me. Scalander was a true citizen of the Imperium and a fine agent... and the worst part is that the moment he ceased to be either passed beneath my notice!" The Interrogator closes his eyes, whether in shame or anger, you cannot tell. "I have no excuse for my offense against the Golden Throne."

You can bring him out of cumrag with clownussy's help, and he can help you on the Arena, but there's no happy ending for him, he kills himself eventually by offing himself from the spire. And Heinrix says absolutely nothing to him, he's already dead for him.

              >he kills himself eventually by offing himself from the spire.
That sucks, if you can get him that far I'd have hoped you could take him back and talk him out of it.
In the Yrliet route I got a slide where they eventually found his body and Marazhai even dropped by to testify about how he tortured him into betraying you. Which is just insult to injury, as is him being kept out of the loop when Emelina and her other agents used him as a patsy by feeding him info. Poor guy.

                >That sucks, if you can get him that far I'd have hoped you could take him back and talk him out of it.
Not like he had a choice with that body of his - the haemonculus did turn him into an unhuman wreck. And guilt, I suppose. Ending:
The monster that returned with the Rogue Trader from Commorragh bore little resemblance to Achilleas Scalander. In rare moments of clarity, the former Inquisition agent howled like a wounded beast, pleading for death. In moments of frenzy, he violently disposed of anyone who disobeyed his {mf|master|mistress}. As time passed, the body and mind of this monster, deprived of the Haemonculus's injections, began to disintegrate, bringing him unending suffering. In a burst of madness, Achilleas leapt from a high spire on Dargonus, and his crippled soul found peace.
You can leave him in cumrag though. Ending:
There were rumours of a frightening new fighter in the arenas of Commorragh — a crippled, insane Wrack that fervently hacked his opponents to pieces. Bathing in rivers of blood, ecstatic with rage, he echoed the cries of the delighted spectators, shouting, "A-CHI-LAS! A-CHI-LAS!"
Or execute him for his treason, of course.

Unless, of course, you prefer to face the conspirators head-on." Achilleas brings a trembling hand with his gilded respirator to his lips.
Heinrix looks at Achilleas intently. "A shrewd and well-considered suggestion. I can see that you have taken the time to learn as much about this station as you could. Good work."
Achilleas coughs. "Far from it, Master van Calox. Alas, my options were rather limited: we never properly scouted this place." He lowers his head, too ashamed to bring himself to look Heinrix in the eye.

Works fine for my xeno-loving Icono, basically you have a deal to fight each other's enemies and you get to chat with strange new xenos most people would never have a chance to and get to listen to cool Commorragh trivia and maybe flirt a bit sometimes. And I like the irony of two people that got fricked over by Calcazar and Yremeryss shenanigans teaming up instead.

Anti-Yrliet gays always use the wrong talking points when shilling against her going on about her intentions, It's clear that she didn't want to get RT captured, the things that matter was the torture the crew endured.
The talking point should be "Intentions be damned the crew had to endure horrific shit because she withheld info. Her stupidity makes her both a danger to herself and the people around her." which would be a factual argument.

Yeah but then you can blame Jimmi for trusting the guy he knows got drukhari'd, like a day after the ship almost got blown up by another guy they did it to. Or if people don't trust what Marzipan says you should assume all the Inquisition people were in on the plan to have your worlds raided and so on. You kinda have to allow for intentions so then if you hate Yrliet you have to ignore hers.

Jimmi is either an idiot or he strongly suspected Achilleas was compromised but didn't tell you because he chose to cling to hope and trust him as the alternative was too terrible to consider, which is basically the same as Yrliet hoping Marzipan's info was real. At least that's what would be reasonable to assume in universe, the real reason is bad writing.

how are you even supposed to play the tabletop of rogue trader? i've played a d100 system before (CoC) and that was easy enough to understand, but rogue trader has so many percentage based rules to keep track of... especially talents. like how are you supposed to keep track every time you take a shot that you akshually deal 3.67% more damage than normal? this seems like a video game first and foremost, and not something that can be enjoyed as an actual ttrpg without your GM being a literal supercomputer when it comes to all these calculations

What's the problem if the game heavily features Eldar? The game doesn't have to have a faction menagerie, just like Mechanicus only being about Admech and Necrons or Space Marine being bout Imperium vs Orkz and Chaos.

Eldar are the worst faction in 40k and their fanbase and players are by far the most annoying. The less they're involved in something the better, in fact the entire settinf would be improved if every Eldar faction was removed overnight.

There are worse factions like the Leagues of Wotann. But Owlcat could atleast have focused on Exodites and Clowns, instead of the two most used Eldar factions.

I'd say RT is one of the closest things to an influx of new IP fans they are getting right now, so showing muh tyrannid swarm menace off could only help interest in SM2.

        Anonymous

Yes, but that's because Eldar tend to hage absurdly busted rules that aren't fun to play against in the slightest. There's often rules for them which 'slip past' the typical balance checks and end up being caught by players who pick up Eldar armies for cheap wins.
For example in the latest edition, Wraithknights alone caused two entire General Rules for THE ENTIRE GAME to be changed, fricking over other armies im the process because the person writing the Eldar rules made it so Wraithknights could casually delete any unit on the field with ease.
