Neither because VR is fricking moronic.
Agp thread
I will be the fast chick cause of the CLEAVAGE
I agree. Those VR headsets are probably really sour anyway.
lmao poorgays detected
it's a really cool toy to play with, and that's literally all it is, how are you even mad at that hahaha fricking losers
>L-le poor gays
You do realize vr isn't even that expensive anymore right? This is just pure cope by gullible consumer morons like yourself
Never heard of it, not clicking your link. What is it? A Boneworks mod?
It's basicly Boneworks 2.0. New graphics, new mechanics, everything new.
They even said that they took money from boneworks, to make bonelab
Um I could really care less lol
>More failed vr crap
No one cares about this gimmicky trash
Why are her hands so big?
big hands big dick
They have cool system for avatars, where it put stats on your avatar based on the avatar itself. Big fat avatar will have alot of strenght but will be slow. You can throw people and shit, on the other side, skinny avatars will be faster, but weaker.
Also there is haptic feedback based on avatars, so neither if you're fat or skinny - if you touch your belly, avatar will touch it too. No clipping, movement scales to your avatar. That's fricking cool
what kind of stats does the bimbo body archetype get?
Don't know but anime girls get's mediocre as frick
>Unity
ruined
If you want VR games to use something else then send Gabe a letter to make Source 2 open for devs already.
Oh wait, there's your bimbo stats
A according to the gameplay trailer, she runs faster.
im excited for it. im glad their games so far offer a great art style.
dont care if this is "gimmick" crap. this shit looks like fun gimmick crap.
My first reaction was a big ehhhh because I played Boneworks for maybe a week and haven't touched it since, but that video sold me, as modding for it is going to be massive. (And so will the porn mods.)
>little over 20 guys working on the game
>people literally hired because of their skill level and not to fill some sort of diversity quota
see, THIS is what game dev teams should look like.
why is the floor all fricked up
from testing porn mods
their studio is in an old packing house building in LA
It's just slab foundation without any flooring added on top. You're supposed to maintain slab by polishing it every few years or sealing it, otherwise once it starts getting fricked up it doesn't stop.
Also they said - no microtransactions. They just made a game, now have fun.
soul
How many of them do you think have jerked off at their desk when nobody else was around
>when nobody else was around
Anon, judging by the interview they know who their market audience is. If they waited for no one to be around they'd never be able to test anything.
Where is the diversity?
How do you know they don't identify as black women?
The team is too small, only massive studios have it forced on them by law.
These motherfrickers look lifted straight out of the 90s. I'm amazed that's even legal in burgerstan.
nice. they seemed pretty excited about their project too, good stuff.
Waiting for kotaku article named:"Misogynist, male-dominated gamestudio made a sexist, brutal game about raping avatars, also didn't have people of color working on it"
Too wordy. It'll be "Racist rapists still overrunning gaming industry" with the subtitle being a link to the writer's venmo to help fight their PTSD
>brutal game about raping avatars
Let's not pretend that's not part of the fantasy and likely some of the reasoning behind the entire player body having physics and being able to mod/import shit. Being able to grab and direct your cyberwang into an anime girls pussy was almost certainly a factor here. I'm all for it but I just don't think the article would be entirely wrong.
>model traits
So in theory I'll be able to swap to a Power Girl model, once the one from Injustice is ported, and have massive breasts AND super powers built in?
According to the Node interview it's just stats calculated from the model instead if any unique abilities but hopefully modders are able to customize those.
I general it all depends on how good the sdk is.
>
They also showed distinct stat sheets. We need to know more to be sure, but it sounds like you can give distinct models their own traits, like the fat model and robot are super strong (and the robot in theory will be tougher/damage resistant).
Looks like the same shit but with an avatar gimmick. Same dogshit ebemy variety too from the looks of it. Meh.
At least rhey have a shotgun now but I'll play it in a later date.
boobs too small
just import big boobas avatar
>no multiplayer
Boneworks has it as a mod, so I imagine that's coming soon.
would rather play virt a mate
what a coincidence, I just finished watching that video
that's cool ngl
>see tiny virtual booba
>can't resist the urge to fondle them
based
i've been checking the store for months for it to come out and now i find it comes out on my fricking birthday?
huh, about time
>i find it comes out on my fricking birthday?
lol fricking kids.
I'm glad I no longer have a birthday.
was beginning to become a nuisance really
Will it run on my Quest 2
Yeah it will have standalone Quest version. Lets Hope it doesn't look like ass
So is it just a meme avatar or is there actually sex
i never got the appeal of boneworks tbh
The campaign sucked but the engine was neat. I actually liked replaying the levels for collectables because you realize a lot of the scenery is climbable. The problem was no real sdk, so that was all there was.
It may have been objectively shit, but I played it about 5 times.
Now the real question is do I really have to buy a quest to play this? I really wish I didn't sell my CV1.
No, it's normal PCVR. You can play it with anything. They just made quest standalone version of it.
I just played up until the synth guys started attacking me which is pretty much after the tutorial. Is it worth playing to the end or should I just wait for Bonelab instead?
i'm just happy VR gets yet another vidya to go through, playing ItR and Wingman all the time is great but variety is more than welcome
It concerns me that they open with damage control over how building it with the Quest in mind totally hasn't fricked the end product. It looks genuinely impressive though so I'll withhold judgement.
That seems like a catch-22 situation
>don't talk about quest version
>"oh man the Quest downgrades must be so bad they don't even want to talk about them"
>talk about quest version
>"oh man the Quest downgrades must be so bad they need to cope about them"
I like how they snuck in a demon maid anime girl avatar, this dev team if full of SOVL
>anime girl
I will now buy your game
I've always respected these guys for trying to push the possibilities of VR IK bodies, jank and all, but Boneworks is just so insanely fricking boring. It triea to do so much with an admittedly impressive interactivity framework as a jack of all trades but falls short on so many things.
Whenever I play the game, I often find myself impressed by the freedom of what you can do in it but soon after I just want to play other games that provide better melee combat, gunplay, immersion etc. Stuff like S&S, B&S, that give much more satisfying melee. H3VR gives me all the pure gun autismo I could possibly want. Onwards or Pavloc that trump AI combat by having actual PvP. Or hell, despite being babby's first VR game, even Alyx has a handful of mods that make its Combine firefights way more satisfying than anything in Boneworks. If we're talking about the campaign itself, there are loads of games that actually try to provide well-realized world that isn't just hacked together tech demo dev assets they try to reason away with bullshit.
And Bonelabs just looks more of the same but with an added gimmick. Like don't get me wrong, I'm sure there's going to be an awesome sequence where you get an giant avatar that turns you into an actual titan to frick everyone up. But at the same time, the avatar mechanics don't seem that engaging when it's a applied to a single player game. Even without the wealth of physics Boneworks/labs has, VRchat's would be a far better game to go full avatar autism on. Also, I haven't even mentioned the real bread and butter of PCVR --- that being the VR mods of pancake games.
But you know I can feel the passion for innovation. More power to such a small team. I just find the genuine tech demo quality of Boneworks to be personally really unengaging.
my main problem has always been enemy variety
hope they provide more tools for enemy modding in bonelabs
I found boneworks absolutely intolerable because the game clearly wasn't playtested at all. Alyx was a stark contrast, that game was clearly playtested so hard every single corner was rounded off and the whole game became a cakewalk.
But that's kind of what you want in VR. I don't want to wander around a level trying to work out what the frick I have to do next, I want linear corridors and funnels to the next area because wearing a hot piece of shit on my head for 6 hours isn't fricking fun. You want drop in, drop out gameplay.
Boneworks had no playtesting. Every sharp edge was left attached, and you cut yourself on every single one as you try and eke any enjoyment out of a product that's completely banal and a chore. You don't have to smooth the whole game out like Valve does, but you have to fricking test it, morons. If players consistently get stuck in areas and the way forward isn't clear through generic hallways that all look identical, you need to change it.
I refunded Boneworks after 2 hours, and I have absolutely zero interest in Bonelab because it looks like more of the same jank garbage and they haven't learnt any lessons from it.
>I don't want to wander around a level trying to work out what the frick I have to do next, I want linear corridors and funnels to the next area
You're the reason 99% of VR games fricking suck
nta but what's wrong with having a preference for a linear style of game?
Boneworks is already linear. There's no open world, no quests, no npcs. What he's advocating for are dumbed down levels that make VR games become Wii era shooting galleries.
Ah fair enough, I misunderstood
VR sucks because it's shit. The experience doesn't lend itself well to wide sprawling complex gameplay with hours of dialogue and quest trees.
It's fundamentally arcade, because people aren't going to walk around for hours holding their guns up at every corner. VR has to be linear by design, the problem is that nobody is competent enough to make linear games anymore and indie morons just mash together procedurally generated garbage and hope for the best. Alyx is the only game that gets it right, but it gets so much wrong at the same time that it's a dull game.
Honestly, I'm of the opinion that VR is just a mistake. It's not engaging in the way you think it would be, it's just generally a chore. Maybe full dive shit will hold some appeal, when you can actually get into sword fights and feel the weight of a weapon in your hands, but right now VR is a dull joke. It's okay for sim games, I guess.
Play VR mods you moron. HL2VR just came out.
I can't be bothered. I played HL2 when it came out, I've replayed it once since then, I have no urge to play it ever again, and certainly no urge to replay it with a janky VR mod that kind of works sometimes.
>janky VR mod that kind of works sometimes
98% positive reviews
You think that means anything? VR cultists are so hard up for content they'd give a positive review to a bag of dogshit.
Even if it's a completely seamless experience that feels like it was made for VR from the start, I wouldn't want to play it. Because HL2 wasn't very good.
Mod is actually fricking great. I played more janky games made specifically for VR.
Truth is spoken here. I love muh sandboxy tech demos to shit around, and yes - vr feels like a arcade'ish platform to just hop in, do stuff and frick out. But actually the most fun i had in VR was playing Doom3, and currently HF2vrmod. Those old linear games with vr included are fricking bangers. So i see where the "linear gameplay" argument comes from and i totally agree.
Still i want more sandboxy stuff too.
So as a conclusion, devs should make more linear games so we can play whatever we want.
>even Alyx has a handful of mods that make its Combine firefights way more satisfying
what are they called anon?
out of curiousity
Does anyone remember a porn game with 'bone' in the name? It had a cartoonish artstyle, and I think it took place in the future.
Yes that was it! I remember jerking off to it when I was 12 or something.
Did the devs say anything about the changes to the engine? What are the improvements exactly? Any new systems?
Just want a sandbox with good foundations, don't care about story or linear shit.
Neither because Im not a homosexual who dresses up as a girl when hes a grown ass man.
Fricking homosexuals just give it to me straight, is there sex potential for this thing? Like penis into vagoo physics with mods.
There's already games that let you do that, why would you wait to buy this?
Name 3 games other than Virt-A-Mate. No, clicking a button to play an animation doesn't count.
>villain simulator
>captain hardcore
>unironically skyrim with mods
(https://files.catbox.moe/u8vl5u.mp4?fbclid=IwAR1dkbZiQFB7NZbf1Dc9umvKgUobuMrYTALyLFaX24IdVJpKKKRG8BadS38)
Captain Hardcore is really shit, and Villain Sim is a scam.
Does anyone actually find that sexually arousing? I suppose it's impressive but it's also janky and dumb as shit looking.
Definitely not on the level of VirtAMate. Depends on how detailed the rigs are and if you can change them. If they use unity default rigs then you are fricked. It would still be possible to make it high quality but no sane person will put that much effort into it.
I just hope they didn't compromise the pcvr version for the sake of quest money. Also hope for better gunplay and less jank.
ywnbaw
Playing as and wanting to be are not the same.
Anyone, and I mean anyone, who thinks they are is mentally stunted and needs help developing.
Holy cope
Have they said how much it will cost?
Probably 40$. That's like current standard price for "mainstream" games
>boneworks v2
sigh, not these clowns again
>weapon and vehicle mod support coming later
Fricks sake.
At least shotguns are in the game now.
I remember they promised a shotgun and vehicle update for boneworks but only got around to doing a vehicle update (which was just redone stuff from their first VR game hover junkies)
