>Nintendo patents good
>Sony parents bad
>sony thread
>bring up nintendo
sony gays are mentally ill
>patent thread
>bring up patent
>WTF YOU CANT DO THAT YOURE MENTALLY ILL
are you moronic?
How can they patent the gravity gun from garrys mod, wouldn't valve be mad
Why are nintendo fans always so fricking salty about other games and systems. Every sperg you see tripping over something that isn’t on nintendo is almost guaranteed to be a tendie, you can feel it. They’re the worst part of the board.
You're literally responding to a seetheing snoy. Tendies aren't even half as bad.
It's just Darren, something probably triggered him again
Whataboutism is a time honored tradition in low quality internet shitflinging
>Whataboutism
such a cringe word
>ZTotK mechanics
lmfao
>steal form banjo kazooie nuts and bolts
>let's patent it!
they are still seething about rare huh?
>Nintendo preemptively killed the next Horizon games
Holy based
I thought you couldn't patent game mechanics. Would this fail if it were brought to court?
to be fair even Sony steals from Nintendo but never the other way around.
Patents are fair game if it isn't something everyone could have figured out like a fricking save editor
>but never the other way around.
You are coping
>BUT NINTENDO
Every single time
>BUT SONY
Every single time
Where's the "but" though
Doom had quicksaves like that in 1993.
The patent is because it's not a save, it stores the entire playthrough as loadable.
How is that not saving the current state of the game?
now you can watch your favorite part of the movie
Underrated comment
HAIYOOO
>play from any point possible, even future ones
taking movie games to the extreme
>boot up movie game
>quickload™ sony edition takes me directly to the credits
D-did I beat the game?
Speedrunners in shambles right now
So... Thats sony's take on the wrongwarps...
Easy, just serialize the game every single second and have a datacenter to store the saves 🙂
will only work in a non linear game, all you need is a save editor or make like a cutscene gallery with saves like Half Life
>sony patents saving anywhere
Not really. Dying Light 2 already has a feature where you can revert back in time to redo choices.
I dont get it? Cant you just save game on consoles? Or replay particular level which was doom1 functionality?
Yes, the patent will be invalidated the first time Snoy tries to use it against anyone that can afford a decent patent attorney. That's why their first targets will be small indie companies who already struggle with keeping the lights on, so they either settle (read: get bought out by snoy) or try to go to court with some shitbagger attorney who is also struggling to keep their lights on (to establish favorable precedent to bully more small-timers). The long game isn't claiming save states as a novel innovation; the long game is harvesting as many developers and indie companies as possible.
....yeah, that sounds about right. Make a patent that's impossible to hold against anyone big or competent enough, but weaponize it against the small guys so Snoy can add them to their collection of developers.
Why do you think the OP calls it save state moron? What you are saying and the patent are not the same thing. The patent is about replaying a specific section not the whole level or from a save point but a very specific part like if it was using a save state.
so quicksaves
>Good goy! Now say Black Lives Matter and Trans Rights Are Human Rights 1000000 times, otherwise we will ban your account 🙂
touch grass
i don't see the veriification cans
People make these patents so other companies don't do it
That's just the excuse. If they thought they could get away with it they absolutely would do it.
Did something happen? Why is Darren having a meltdown and spamming anti Sony threads suddenly?
>Sony patents a DVD Chapter menu
Why not making movies you can watch in the PS5 instead of doing something stupid as playing the game and wasting time beating a boss?
You can already do that in Talledega Nights.
Patents stifle creativity
But the only play point possible with Sony is over the shoulder, cinematic and narrative driven
That sounds pretty awesome. I’ll be interested to see how that turns out.
When are Windows PCs getting the game resume feature from Xbox?
a good reminder that sony is still a very evil company.
>replay a game from any point
Like a save game or a save state ?
Considering save states in emulators have been around for decades I don't see how this patent would hold up
Patents are so fricking gay
>you can't do this that way just because you just can't ok
>notice that the only controllers that have back buttons are either overpriceshit or chink ones
>do research
>turns out that some homosexuals patented back buttons
Oh for fricks sake this shit doesn't warrant a patent.
Doesn’t sound like save states to me. Sounds like Record your whole playthru and you can go back to any moment at any time states.
>rewind feature on Snoy slop
kek
I'll never understand why games feel the need to make stuff like this part of gameplay, when they could make it part of the cutscene so that A. I don't have to hold up the whole time and B. I can skip it on replays.
RE4R randomly having one of these at the end of the game when it's even more streamlined than the original in this way was so weird to me.
>YOU BETTER LOOK AT THIS SETPIECE, IT TOOK A LOT OF TIME TO MAKE
turns out this became every snoy game and now there's no fricking gameplay
>now there's no fricking gameplay
Look, I agree that overly obtrusive walk-and-talk sections are a problem, but pretending nu-GOW has no gameplay is moronic. I prefer the greater verticality and larger fights of the older games, but the gameplay in the reboot entries is still very good.
I hate the American IP system. You shouldn't be able to acquire a government monopoly on any IP for longer than 10 years and when you enforce it, attack it or defend it, the process should be so optimized that you both do not need and also can not have more than a single minimum wage lawyer.
Because initially they WERE cutscenes, but obviously that's shit because the developers for this slop do not understand pacing or if they do understand it, then they exploit it to make their lame autopilot gameplay seem more engaging. Games existed that let you walk around during talky sections and it gave the player some modicum of control, even if that control was just fricking around and trying to push people off ledges. Games started developing that concept further, except since they are fricking moronic they can't comprehend the idea of the player doing something they don't want them to do, so they have the player carry something or otherwise engage in non-gameplay.
Haven't Bethesda games (Elder Scrolls & Fallout) always done this? How can they patent something that's already been used for decades?
snoy janny got assblasted on me
lmao, the fricking console pleb
>sony patents Savescumming
lmao toddler console indeed
