Really it’s mostly luck and whether or not the game decides to favor you. A large part of it also comes down to skill as well, but no amount of skill is going to make up for 3 people who feed the whole game. Picrel is me getting a good team. I use a computer monitor with low latency but I assure you it has nothing to do with how well I play. My pro controller and gyro aim does though, so if you’re not using one of those you probably should.

No it is absolutely luck since the game runs off of some moronic average power system.
Lets say your power for the sake of relativity is 5/10.
Good matchmaking is "lets pit this player in a team of 5/10s against other 5/10s, +/- 1"
S3s matchmaking is "lets make the average 5/10, aka, potentially put you on a team of paint sniffing glue munching 1/10s vs a team of 10/10s so long as it averages out back to a 5ish/10"
The kicker is the game also accounts for your recent games w/l ratio, and tries to keep you at a 25/25 win/loss, so if you recently won a bunch of games, got to the 35-40 win mark, you WILL be the one with the glue munchers on your team. Reverse this logic if on a loss streak.
"learn to carry" only applies for low level play, at high level play people are simply too good at the game to let one player carry the weight of 2 morons and a midler.

I never realized how trash these maps were til I saw people playing splat1. I'd forgotten how big they were and so many routes. Splat4 needs ones maps and threes game mechanics.

Bubbler is still going to get completely shredded by most things, even with its weak spot getting a slight buff. The special is a complete pushover as it stands right now. Slight buff? Mate it got a 22% HP increase, thats enough to survive a full trizooka IIRC. The bubble hp is the same, but the two weakpoints are 1/5th more durable, so other specials, fizzies, sloshers etc are less powerful. Things that took 3 shots should now take 4 in most cases, which is good as bubbles biggest issue is it was weak.

Removing the pillow and replacing it with a dip will help mid feel less claustrophobic IMO.

Bamboo is overhated but it has limitations. The weaker the overall comp is, the more those limitations are felt.
Inkbrush is the worst not because of its shit range and shit damage its because of having to constantly push the right trigger to the point where it fricks your finger and controller up

Its like 2% better in mid, basically the same though.
Defending when theyre in your base area is much better thanks to the left platform, especially with long range weapons. Similarly attacking is a little better thanks to the wall on the snipe ramp giving you some cover
Rainmaker is a whole lot less cancerous on the left route, which is good.

The weird overhang bits near mid kind of help, but... eh? still a massive chokegrinder map. No idea WHY they didnt remove the glass walls to the left of the map for a one-way-drop flank.
Its like 2% better in mid, basically the same though.
Defending when theyre in your base area is much better thanks to the left platform, especially with long range weapons. Similarly attacking is a little better thanks to the wall on the snipe ramp giving you some cover
Rainmaker is a whole lot less cancerous on the left route, which is good.
