Tetsuya Nomura

>Destroys every franchise he touches
>Is praised for it
How does he do it?

Because people like the franchises when they're worse. FF7R is just FF7 for people that needed the game to explain itself more (HOW???) and that shit made millions

      FF7R is a sequel tho.

Is it a sequel to 7 or a prequel to AC?

It's for morons. Ffs how can someone like this empty shell of a game over the original is beyond me.

Someone said he wanted FF7R to be a more 1:1 remake. Apparently Nomura said this in an interview, and others on the team said so as well. Anyone got the interview(s)?

I don't believe it solely because the reboot/endless speculation/sequel bait is how kingdom hearts is written. 30 hours of shit and then 5 of WHAT DOES IT MEAN WHAT IS XEHANORTS/SEPHIROTHS PLAN

like I guess he could have copied himself unintentionally but it would be stupid even for him

        Pretty sure that's on Nojima.

Nomura is probably one of the few devs i actually respect because 1. you know immediately when a game has nomura influence and 2. he actually has cool concepts and ideas
Its sad that theres a lot of people being filtered by his stuff.

No, its because the characters actually have good design, the gameplay is more than just cookiecutter safe stuff and the game has strong character moments that stick with you

I can recognize those creepy monsters from that Quizznos commercial buy it doesn't mean I like them.

For a character design to be good, it has to be recognizable.

around 70% of characters arent recognizable. All nomura characters are. Therefore, all nomura characters are able to qualify as good.

SoP was actually really good. Not just the gameplay, but the story took me by surprise. Really felt for all the characters which I didn't expect.

His designs are timeless for a lot of characters but he tends to be tied to games with great gameplay aswell even KH 3 which after the DLC has some of the best action bosses of all time

Its simple he is well liked by his peers due to a willingness to help out and has seniority due to being around since FF5.
Also while he is shit at plot coherence and good dialogue he is very adept in many emotionally evocative scenes and has a bunch of cool if very chunibyo ideas.
In an ideal world Nomura would be allowed to use kingdom hearts as his passion project and would work in an advisory role within the rest of the company basically taking others scripts and pointing out where they could add an emotional beat or to suggest that this aspect or another could be altered to hit better.

Because he knows who to appeal to. The fact that he's a middle aged manchild who still thinks he's a teenager is why his shit appeals to actual teenagers.
