I don’t really care for either, but I’ll have to say the original is superior for the music alone. The fact that you have to pay extra to have music in the remake is also laughable.
>REmake is the only one better than the original
false
Atmosphere in REmake 1 is dogshit compared to the first. Crimsonheads are a dumb gimmick to pad out the game and punishes players for not getting RNG headbursts since they nerfed the shotgun so as to not have an instant headburst when you aim up. Turning the mansion into a generic haunted house actively fricks with the sense of progression since now EVERYTHING looks like its been broken down and abandoned for decades, which makes zero fricking sense when its an active facility that was in use up until a month before the STARS arrive.
This. The first game is great for that first step for the franchise but only nostalgia can make someone actually enjoy the original RE1 over the REmake. The REmakes of 2-4 are pretty good but they're their own thing and can't compete with the originals at all.
Like what? They didnt remove any enemies or locations.
A few interactions between chars are different, but other than that it faithful.
Also they add a lot too.
Demake only removed enemies. They could have used some of the concepts scrapped from the og game, but nope.
Theyre their own seperate games.
Then again I’m a weirdo that prefers RE1 out of anything in the classic trilogy and I disliked the remake of it since it dipped the mansion in generic haunted house aesthetic and called it a day. I really hate how the color palette of REmake 1 is primarily brown when the original didn’t shy away from having actual color.
Mechanically on normal mode I’d say its the best since the game goes out of its way to be as fluid as possible and the dodge is a great addition that plays directly into that. damn shame hardmode changes the input timing and makes it almost fricking useless. Its still a great game and I enjoy it more than RE2.
I don’t get how Ganker calls REmake 2 “le demake” when R3make actively gutted the game at the halfway point since it was a shameless asset flip.
>I don’t get how Ganker calls REmake 2 “le demake”
Because it did LITERALLY everything the Demake3 did. Just because RE3's demake was butchered even more does not make 2's absolutely pathetic zoomer version any "better". It's literally THE worst-case scenario I and many, many OG fans had in mind. But alas, RE games are no longer made for the OG audiences, but the easy-to-please zoomer gays.
if they are equally good, the the original is better because it has more content
so, the important question is >what did the remake do better than the original?
>what did the remake do better than the original?
Nothing.
Absolutely nothing.
It has worse story, less replay value, less content, worse art-directing, worse OST, worse SFX, casual as frick gameplay with optional ink ribbons + auto difficulty + 3rd person shooting + HUD prompts and hints. The one-shot setpieces like the Crash Bandicoot running part and forced stealth area as Sherry were just awful, tacky trash.
Kendo, Ben, Chief's and even the MC's roles were absolutely butchered. Most of them were made into single-scene jokes, never to be seen again.
>Because it did LITERALLY everything the Demake3 did
I’ve platinumed REmake 2 because of how well it was done. I legitimately can’t recall anything major that was cut from the OG besides Mr. X’s helicopter introduction. Everything else is remixed as is fitting of… yknow? a remake? >b-b-but youre just a zoomer your opinion doesn’t count
Grew up playing the originals, starting with RE1.
REmake 2 is perfectly kino. but please, throw some more buzzwords around, that totally proves youve played the game and arent just some moron regurgitating Ganker‘s shitposts.
>casual as frick gameplay with optional ink ribbons + auto difficulty + 3rd person shooting + HUD prompts and hints
I don't think you've actually played the original since you were a child, because the combat consisted of press two buttons until everything in the room was dead and the puzzles weren't difficult at all. There was barely any resource management needed because after like the first hour of the game you're swimming in ammo and healing. RE2R on hardcore is more difficult than the original except for the Nightmare mode which was only on the DC and PC releases that like 5 people played.
Playing the original fully for the first time, I was stuck in the station awhile running back and forth constantly getting lost because the layout is different but similar enough to make it oddly disorienting
i looooved re2. i thought re2 remake was way too hard all the zombies keep coming into the building..i think i don't understand how to play even blocking up some windows didn't do enough overall. i didn't get very far at all ;-;
I played Dino Crisis like two years ago from start to finish and that is my honest opinion, i played the demo a lot when i was younger and was finally curious to play the full game, it was disappointing
Mechanically on normal mode I’d say its the best since the game goes out of its way to be as fluid as possible and the dodge is a great addition that plays directly into that. damn shame hardmode changes the input timing and makes it almost fricking useless. Its still a great game and I enjoy it more than RE2.

REmake2 is a very respectable demake, REmake3 is pretty crap, didn't even finish it and i was at what seemed the best part of the game aka the labs
Nah, DC1 is just dogshit and tedious. Constantly respawning enemies that take way too much ammo to actually put down making tranqs the only viable weapon is moronic. environments are all the same grey fricking walls until you get to the labs where theyre yellow and white. idiotic “puzzles” that make Resident Evil’s look like fricking professor layton. A moronic fricking plot.
DC2 did the correct thing by embracing itself as a campy over the top action flick instead of trying to be a shitty RE clone with dinos. plays a lot better, environments are beautiful and varied, and the gameplay is actually buttery smooth action kino instead of choppy halfbaked “survival” mechanics.
if they are equally good, the the original is better because it has more content
so, the important question is >what did the remake do better than the original?
But the gameplay is easily THE biggest downgrade, right after the story and OST? You literally have LESS everything, and it's coated in a literal textbook definition of artificial difficulty.
You need to grow up, youre not a little kid who shits his diaper anymore no matter how hard you try to show off your crusty skiddies, ps1 resident evils are trash and you need to move on you mentally ill shitter.
I'm not that second anon. Just keeping it real. I still like them but the gameplay is horrible in the PS1 games and thats something I'll prefer from the remakes any day of the week.
>I still like them but the gameplay is horrible in the PS1 games
But… theyre the same fricking gameplay. Just admit you’re a moron that doesn’t know what you’re on about.
Yeah because your little zoomer brain can't understand anything that isn't Gears of War or Fortnite, i get it
[...]
You are too young to speak about these things, the 4th gen for example was full of FMV games, just because they didn't have much success doesn't mean they didn't have big budgets compared to other games of that era, RE2 is a proper videogame and the number of "cutscenes" that it has is very limited.
Yeah because your little zoomer brain can't understand anything that isn't Gears of War or Fortnite, i get it
Every garbage ass movie game clogging the market has its roots in the original RE2. It was the first dumbed down, big budget shit game for normalhomosexuals that sold itself on being "just like da mooooobies!!!!"

Mr. X and improved Marvin. That's pretty much it. Controls I suppose if you can't wrap your head around tank controls. Atmosphere, music, monster variety, content - original was better.
The original is better, especially with the PC/Dreamcast Hard Mode. It's a more complete experience and a better told story. RE2Make is very good though, in spite of a few scenes being cut out and the A/B scenarios being dropped.

FF7 came out before RE2 did and sold almost 3 times as much. Metal Gear Solid was out two months before RE2 and is constantly cited as one of the modern movie game progenitors. Half-Life 1 came out like two weeks after RE2 and is basically the archetype for the modern linear setpiece driven action game that's been the standard since like the mid 00s.
No one with taste or a history in videogames would ever think the remake is better than the original. Only stupid zoomiis think that because they have neither. (Smart zoomers understand)
The remake is more entertaining, hands down. And I used to love re2 in the 90s.
The only thing they did wrong was the zapping. They should just written one Clair A Leon B story and kept it that way if they were going to half ass that part of the game so much.
Id ask you if you play ps1 era resident evils and if you said yes id put my gun in your mouth and mag dump into your head then piss and shit on your corpse and snap your gay ass game disc and throw it on your pissy shit stained corpse.
Its gays who grew up playing the games and then never grew up and these games are like their blankies that they still cuddle with and go MOMMY I WANT MY BLANKIEE WAAAHHH because it comforts them as theyre 40 year old man babies.
I hate how they made Claire seemingly uninterested in continuing her search for Chris by the end of the game. There’re a lot of things I hate about this game, but that’s probably the most glaring problem to me.

There is no debate since the remake is actually a demake
first post best post.
/thread.
Demake-gays BTFO.
>REMAKE the game into a different game
>"THAT'S NOT A REMAKE THATS A DEMAKE!!!"
Original > Remake, not even a contest. Only those people who never played the original game or an unironical contrarian would claim otherwise.
Daft. I played re2 at release. Remake is more thrilling.
I don’t really care for either, but I’ll have to say the original is superior for the music alone. The fact that you have to pay extra to have music in the remake is also laughable.
Original, no contest. REmake is the only one better than the original.
>REmake is the only one better than the original.
lmao no. All remakes are inferior to original works.
Nah
Nah, the GC remake of 1 is pure kino.
>REmake is the only one better than the original

The weird thing is thinking RE3 is the best in the trilogy
But it is.
It is. It's the most fun to replay due to the randomized elements and the fact that your choices can change some shit in the game.
Mechanically on normal mode I’d say its the best since the game goes out of its way to be as fluid as possible and the dodge is a great addition that plays directly into that. damn shame hardmode changes the input timing and makes it almost fricking useless. Dino Crisis.
Dino Crisis 1 is mediocre as frick, its one of those games where you could say that every location looks the same and it would actually be true.
Zoomer take
I played Dino Crisis like two years ago from start to finish and that is my honest opinion, i played the demo a lot when i was younger and was finally curious to play the full game, it was disappointing

The combat and the difficulty.
The gameplay which is pretty significant.

og RE2 plays like shit anon, go replay it.
Controls, gameplay, difficulty, atmosphere.
>controls
Zoomer detected
Stop posting and calm down

Puzzles that aren't kindergarten level box pushing.
Mr. X and improved Marvin. That's pretty much it. Controls I suppose if you can't wrap your head around tank controls. Atmosphere, music, monster variety, content - original was better.
How does turning Mr.X into a evil character from Scooby Doo improve the game exactly?
I like the remake better.
You have to be a tiny dicked mentally ill downie to enjoy re2 ps1 and still play any of the garbage ps1 era games
Malding
You have an inverted dick. That looks like garbage because it is just that.
shotgun is arguably the worst weapon against nemesis
All it takes is to have good taste in videogames, anon.
This homie is too moronic to handle tank controls
bruh fricking 8 year olds can handle tank controls
Hear hear bro, that shit is tired. All the youngsters thinking they’re so cool playing hoop and stick in the street.
If you still play any of the ps1 era games and enjoy it, have a nice day. Youre such a fricking loser lol
REmake, RE2R and RE4R>originals
RE3>RE3R
Simple as that
I play remake and feel I don't need to play original and I am right.
The original is better, especially with the PC/Dreamcast Hard Mode. It's a more complete experience and a better told story. RE2Make is very good though, in spite of a few scenes being cut out and the A/B scenarios being dropped.

Why the frick do you zoomers invent fanfiction like this?
FF7 came out before RE2 did and sold almost 3 times as much. Metal Gear Solid was out two months before RE2 and is constantly cited as one of the modern movie game progenitors. Half-Life 1 came out like two weeks after RE2 and is basically the archetype for the modern linear setpiece driven action game that's been the standard since like the mid 00s.
If I walked in on my 40 year old son playing ps1 resident evils id smash his head through his monitor for being a little homosexual
How fricking old are you dude?
Youd better not be playing ps1 re games
Im saying only 40 year old virgin losers still play ps1 re2
No one with taste or a history in videogames would ever think the remake is better than the original. Only stupid zoomiis think that because they have neither. (Smart zoomers understand)
RE 2 police station
DEmake 2 police station
The remake is more entertaining, hands down. And I used to love re2 in the 90s.

I think you should probably see a psychiatrist.
remake is too blurry and fog
Original EASILY sage
Boomers be like "yo this gameplay FIRE"
>noooooooo why isn't every game Duck Hunt in third person?
Tank controls look so fricking stupid
Its gays who grew up playing the games and then never grew up and these games are like their blankies that they still cuddle with and go MOMMY I WANT MY BLANKIEE WAAAHHH because it comforts them as theyre 40 year old man babies.
I hate how they made Claire seemingly uninterested in continuing her search for Chris by the end of the game. There’re a lot of things I hate about this game, but that’s probably the most glaring problem to me.
Loved them both. Remake had cucked content and weird fetish for cursing. OG is a classic. Remake was a good game.
The original's atmosphere is unmatched. Playing RE2 on cold winter night is kino
> "Remake"
> no crows, no giant spiders, no giant moths
> ivy is now a zombie reskin with a veganamouth

> crappy scripted Sonic-like Alligator boss
> crappy handling of the 2 scenario differences that make no sense, no repercussions for doing certain actions in the 1st scenario for the 2nd scenario
> moving the gunshop and courtyard to the middle of the game instead of having it before RPD destroys all the initial buildup that nowhere is safe in Raccoon City
> boring af Lab
> No interaction between Leon and Claire until the Lab in the end, they literally have no connection to each other now
> Instead of making DLCs that explain the stories of the survivors, they made it into stupid arcade what-if scenarios
> paleheads, scavenger zombies, exploding zombies and armored guard zombies locked behind DLC instead of being in the main campaign (I just find their mechanics interesting)
Original.
