Japanese prose is very functional. It’s why poetry is a big deal, it’s the dedicated “metaphor and allegory” form of speech. English and even most Romantic languages tend to mix the two pretty liberally. I can’t speak for Germanic or Slavic or Nordic languages
At least when I was both learning and speaking Japanese a few years ago, one thing that stood out is that in both day to day conversation and fictional dialogue, direct expression of thoughts and feelings was almost too plain by Western standards

Just remember to code them to only target not poisoned enemies, since it doesn't stack.

Yeah I just slapped her in a team with Chloe, gave her Raven/Dove feathers, let her use her start of battle stun skill that grants her a faerie and pair her with Chloe's guaranteed crit, to just annihilate most teams on the first action of the battle. Great no-brain strategy

Forgot to add: before my Eltolinde got Elemental Impetus, I used that one mantle on her. Something something sunlight? That gives 1 PP for the price of 2 AP, additional magic attack, but only during the day. Does the same thing, allows her to cycle through her attacks and passives to build PP, but no additional fairies.
It would actually need some testing to see if the buff in magic attack would offset the bonus fairies. Alas, I'm too lazy for that. And you could use that equipment slot for something else when she hits level 35.

Hilda Dragoon Dive squad only needs four members (Hilda, Yahna, [insert cat hoodie user here], and Chloe) to operate at maximum efficiency. Getting to start with +30 initiative in that squad is pretty important.

This. The only point of stationing people is get field materials. The only point of field materials (outside of repairing a bridge or something) is deliveries. The only point of deliveries is so you can get more honors and money to supplement your army. I supposed you could get even more honors if you do station them all, bu tthen again you're also arguably wasting your honors on shitty units just to station them there so there's a large upfront cost just to get you more honors.

You can station units at every town with 3-5 honor units. They break even almost instantly, you can farm hundreds of honors per region if you keep them stationed.
You don't understand what I mean if you think losing 3 honor for what I could get by picking up the mats myself. They also can grow into stacks so it means you can just gather 20 battles later anyways.

I understand what you mean, but it has nothing to do with what I said, which is that your investment into the guards is not "arguably wasting honors" or a "large upfront cost". There are 3-5 honor units available by the dozen, enough to guard every town, and the resources they produce over the playthrough will yield hundreds in return. It's very clearly a net positive return. If you're willing to tediously scour entire regions for materials so you can get more honors, be my guest. Your net gain doing that instead of just stationing 3-honor guards would probably be, like, 100ish total, so if your time is worth less than 100 honors then go for it.
Who cares? What are you using honors for anyway once you're full expanded? I'd much rather a clean team UI than making a useless number go up.

By the time you get to late Bastorias or so, yeah, honors are completely useless and you'd have had enough time to promote everyone and max out a lot of units even without minmaxing resource/delivery farming.

On expert you have to defend your main stronghold for a lot of the actual big missions. Especially that one where where theres two beast factions fighting and you can choose to go the third route of taking them both on. And if you don't make the hoplite the actual leader, you still can get ~100 mobility like any other infantry unit.

Anything can work, but the majority of classes can take a reasonable number of hits and also do good damage. Hoplites can only take a reasonable number of hits, they can't do good damage. That makes them worse than other classes. You don't have to be a genius to use them anyway, they're just not as useful as other options.

For a support class druid is pretty versatile. They have multiple specialized staves, from status conditions (sandstorm, fire, poison) and can choose between needing enemy offenses and defenses. What do you want the druid to do on your team?
Druids are also a decent pick for a front line unit since they're beefy and have decent defense and dodge. Obviously not as good as a Legionnaire, but if you're running a 5-mage unit or something like that they're serviceable.
For a while I ran a defense/defense druid with the warding staff (+25% guard efficiency, transfers 15 magdef to physdef) on the front line with Virginia, and she was durable enough to pull it off after iron veil.

That gives 1 PP for the price of 2 AP, additional magic attack, but only during the day. It would actually need some testing to see if the buff in magic attack would offset the bonus fairies. Alas, I'm too lazy for that. And you could use that equipment slot for something else when she hits level 35.

You can station units at every town with 3-5 honor units. They break even almost instantly, you can farm hundreds of honors per region if you keep them stationed.

Your net gain doing that instead of just stationing 3-honor guards would probably be, like, 100ish total, so if your time is worth less than 100 honors then go for it.

On expert you have to defend your main stronghold for a lot of the actual big missions. Especially that one where where theres two beast factions fighting and you can choose to go the third route of taking them both on. And if you don't make the hoplite the actual leader, you still can get ~100 mobility like any other infantry unit.

How are you supposed to set up a Druid's tactics?
For a support class druid is pretty versatile. They have multiple specialized staves, from status conditions (sandstorm, fire, poison) and can choose between needing enemy offenses and defenses. What do you want the druid to do on your team?
Druids are also a decent pick for a front line unit since they're beefy and have decent defense and dodge. Obviously not as good as a Legionnaire, but if you're running a 5-mage unit or something like that they're serviceable.
For a while I ran a defense/defense druid with the warding staff (+25% guard efficiency, transfers 15 magdef to physdef) on the front line with Virginia, and she was durable enough to pull it off after iron veil.

She's one of, like, 3 girls I would say has a pretty canon-feeling romance route. The relationship between her and Alain seems to dull a bit as the game goes on though, and it feels more platonic at times than you'd think. I don't think they push it so hard that it's definitely THE choice.
They definitely push it, as a unit Scarlett is basically designed as the ultimate support for Alain, but the game never seriously makes it out as if she's the "correct" choice. Honestly quite a few secondary characters feel like they have more romantic scenes if going by that metric, I think the writer probably thought her jealousy would be more endearing then it did for people
