This mentality proved the deep ignorance to believe talent is infinite and any team can handle any project with good results. Despite every medium having proven this not to be the case time and time again.

      Anonymous

It's infinite if you're willing the pay the money for top talent, yes.
It's not like takes a very high bar for third parties to surpass the quality or output of modern games anyway, with maybe the exception of Smash and Monolith Soft's stuff (to an extent.)

There are better indie platformers than Mario, DK, Kirby, etc out there, there are better "cozy" games than Animal crossing out there, modern Zelda is just over-glorified Ubislop these days, and Luigi's Mansion, Mario Kart, Splatoon, etc are all AA efforts that can easily be achieved by an experienced & talented AA studio.
Nintendo won't do it though, because that would easily expose their 1st-party teams as the outdated, washed-up hacks that they are.

It absolutely is IF you find the right talent, yes.
It's not like there's a very high bar to set or surpass, either way. As previously mentioned, most modern Nintendo titles are cheap AA-tier projects made for literal children and generally succeed off of brand name alone. The majority of them aren't AAA-tier in scope (at least not yet) with over-bloated budgets, massive open worlds, overtly complex live-service BS and optimization issues out the ass.

Yet they remain unsurpassed, the only platformer that's arguably better than Donkey Kong is yet more Gonkey Kong, and where's the competitor to Luigi's Mansion, or the game that tops Mario Kart, or the game that tops Splatoon in originality/approach to tps, there's nothing, Splatoon is easily the top of that genre when it comes to competitive play as well as just plain old gameplay itself. Sort of.
Nintendo doesn't want to just give away their IP to other studios for many reasons and one of the big ones is because they respect the original teams/ creators behind these franchises. Look up the Iwata Asks interview about Punch Out for Wii, Nintendo went to the original creator first and got his blessing before working with Next Level Games on that instalment.

It's not about just the desire to have something new out from an old IP, Nintendo already did this with Advance Wars and basically killed the IP dead, they got a team that was a fan favourite making multiple successful releases and it was still shit, why? because of the mismatch, well that and the team couldn't fricking help themselves with their own bs, but then look at Metroid, Nintendo got a team that fits and then tard wrangled them, there were hints at quality in Metroid Samus Returns but ultimately the game was lacking on so many levels and had a bunch of shit that really could have fricked off, and then you look at Metroid Dread, in the space of a single game a giant step up, things like the slide are tiny but fold back into the gameplay on so many levels that it feels like something that should have always been in Metroid.

Advance Wars was Wayforward's idea. I'm assuming F-Zero 99 was NST's idea and Metroid probably being Mercury Steam's idea and Super Mario RPG with Square Enix. I'm actually on board with other companies approaching Nintendo to use their unused IPs. My issue is Nintendo just assigning the IP to someone because they want a new game like Muppet homosexual is suggesting them to. The thing is no one wants his games besides him. Nintendo isn't going to revive a game on their volition if they don't want to. There's no obligation or financial incentive for them to. If no one will approach them to make a game it doesn't get made. Nintendo doesn't have any slacker teams not working on something for them to assign something to. They already did that with Metroid Prime 4 when Retro was slacking off after Tropical Freeze was done.

          >My issue is Nintendo just assigning the IP to someone because they want a new game like Muppet homosexual is suggesting them to
To an extent that's my issue too, I want Nintendo to work with teams that they feel would be a good fit for a new entry in that game rather than just getting anyone on it, like the muppet fricker wants.
          >If no one will approach them to make a game it doesn't get made
Nintendo internal staff regularly push for new entries in series that they enjoyed working on, it's always been an issue of manpower and priorities.
          >Nintendo doesn't have any slacker teams not working on something for them to assign something to
Nintendo has priorities, Mario and Zelda keep the lights on and a single release of these games will pay for multiple years worth of other games development, so it's understandable that these games see regular releases and IP that sell significantly less are shelved, but even IP that sell less can still see regular releases, Fire Emblem hadn't broken 1 mil until Awakening, but Awakening is like it's 12th entry, but Fire Emblem had a team dedicated to making new Fire Emblem titles. we'd probably be there with a lot of Nintendo IP if they had dedicated development teams, especially external ones, internal ones tend to be put on what's profitable, although a lot of their internal teams manage external development teams and in the case of say Metroid, a lot of the design is handled by an internal Nintendo team.
All of that said Nintendo still have their own problems, they really should be investing more into their development partners, you can see them pushing Grezzo away with only letting them work on remakes, and Vanpool died being a Kirby dev support team, then you can go back to historial devs like Noise with Nintendo not bothering to push Custom Robo in the west and letting it wither.

        Reboot Camp sucked that badly?

I hope we don't see Wayforwards anywhere near that IP anytime soon, or any other Nintendo IP for that matter.

              Lots of small things,
              >shitty new art style
              >arbitrarily diverse soldiers
              >buggy as frick
              >sturms ultimate power just crashes the fricking game
              >actions take longer than the original game
              >made with unity
              >wayforward is the kind of studio with a shitty track record that stops people from buying any game they touch
              >delayed for years
              >shitty online

              >We're long overdue for that *6th Metroid game.
              Fixed
Get fricked FPSturds, Prime 4 and those upcoming remasters are pending trash fires.

José coming to save this franchise again.

              >he thinks they are going to be remastered and not just ported
              What causes this?

Yeah but opinions held by many, they really worked their asses off to not sell a lot of people on a game that was basically a sure thing.

It depends on who's idea it was for Arzest to make it. Mania was a passion project that they approached Sega for. If Superstars existed because Sega wanted a new 2D Sonic game and needed to find someone to shit it out that's the exact problem scenario.

    >Grown man getting impatient that his children’s games aren’t getting made fast enough
Also, don’t these Nintendo fans love to go on about the amazing polish of Nintendo’s first-party games? Wouldn’t they prefer that Nintendo not rush out products?

I don't watch this gay. Is he genuinely upset that there are Nintendo IPs that are falling into obscurity, or is he just upset that his person favorites aren't getting new games every year? Did he support stuff like Reboot Camp and Another Code when those got made?
