It's somehow uglier than it's pre-evo
Duraludon looks better, and I don't know why they are expanding on a gen 8 pokemon, seems too soon
i do not like many [object]mon and it is a solid exemplar of that dislike

Gen III - Wynaut, Azumarill

Babies and split evos don't increase the power level of a Pokemon that's already new so they're not really comparable to the staple remover
Scizor, Steelix, Crobat, Kingdra, Porygon2, Roserade, Dusknoir and Probopass aren't split evos
Technically Scizor is weird version of a split evo. In terms of actual stats it doesn't get stronger than Scyther.

I hate being reminded of gen 8 and 9 existing, so frick that. Also I really want to know what kind of frick weirdo designed a lighter-inhaler-drill-skyscraper who also gets a max form in one gen, then have it evolve into a staple remover-bridge, I don't know if any other Pokemon are that messy of a concept, let alone any getting preferential treatment like this.
Plus man, why THAT Pokemon? Gens 3-7 are already underserved, there's no reason to do a gen 8 Pokemon this soon.
When there's only so few gens around, recycling from a past gen is fine. Also, how can a new evo be "too soon" in gen 2, when there's only two gens? Even though the baby gimmick was dumb and I wish there was an actual gameplay reason to raise them from babies.
homie, we're on gen 9, like I said in the reply to the other anon, there's no reason to be recycling Pokemon from gen 8 when 3-7 are all available and there's so many in there that would really arrive with a lot of fanfare from the fans.
It's weird too which lines they're touching for the DLC.

I think they are realizing that they fricked up with Gigantamaxes because a lot of them complete some of the Gen 8 Pokemon concepts, so they wanted to upgrade them
Dipplin looks like it's own version of G-max Flapple and Appletun, whereas Archaludon is a different way forward for a building Pokemon

I'm excited. Duraludon has a great ability, but it doesn't have the stats to survive outside of a regionaldex format. It either needs to be a little faster and stronger, or a little bulkier. Getting even 10-20 points in either of these would make it a VGC stable where redirection is everything.
Better than duraludon. That's about it.

Gen 4 started a bunch of unnecessary Evo's that didn't even follow the original theme of the pokemon. (not to mention the power creep) If anything Duraludon is following Gen 4.

Normally I wouldn't care, but I'm just amazed they thought Duraludon needed an evolution this fricking soon. Unless you count the gigantimax forms for gen 8 Pokémon, they haven't done something like this since Mega Audino. Arguably it's closer to something like Dusknoir or Probopass.

Not sure if it'll improve any stats by much, it might just slightly boost while focusing on shifting stats around, since even the description says it trades.
