they were thinking that the playerbase had an average IQ higher than 10, unfortunately they were wrong as evidenced by OP
it's not that complicated
Another Nip child that got lost in Mt.
Are nugenners complaining about not having straight line regions now?
>lets make the region feel natural and smartly designed instead of a lazy as frick line like unova
It doesn't feel "natural and smartly design" when I have to go around a big frick off mountain everytime I want to go from A to B.
it's not that bad, you're exaggerating. there are really short caves connecting both sides. also, use fly? you don't have to do much backtracking before you get it.
>What do you mean the East and West sides are divided by a mountain range? That's so unrealistic
Sinnoh isn’t natural or smartly designed when you compare it to the previous three regions though. Kanto/Johto/Hoenn were actually cohesive and looped back around often, while Sinnoh’s “progression” in backtracking just turns into clicking fly because they couldn’t bother to make areas meaningfully connect to one another in the main playthrough.
Unfortunately Gamefreak got the wrong idea from the reaction to their poor design decisions, and we ended up with the straight line region model afterward.
you don't reach the battle zone from the league
Only thing that filtered me as a kid was not knowing how to access most of postgame, and of course no npc even hints at it, too busy saying stupid useless shit.
It's not that bad doe
it doesn't show how bad it is tho, the beginning you go back and forth for like 10 min
meh it's nowhere near as bad as the BW2 beginning or the fricking hours of shit at the start of SM holy frick
This is my favorite thing about Sinnoh. I wish they would make more regions like this.
Sinnoh backtracking is one of those "flaws" /vp/ makes up and overrates for no real reason.
100%, I'm replaying platinum for the first time in ages and getting around Sinnoh isnt even as bad as I used to think, you can get around pretty fast actually. And by the time the story does have you backtracking a lot, you have Fly. I was almost surprised how quickly I've gotten through the game because I remember it feeling way longer as a kid. I think time and memories just inflate how big and insurmountable Coronet feels.
similarly I think the hate on Hoenn's water routes is way overblown.
luv backtracking
luv fog
luv swamps
luv snow
luv mt coronet
luv melancholic piano
luv hms
luv sinnoh
Simple as, anon.
What's the problem though? Do you really want to just go on a straight path the whole game?
>[gameplay element] sucks
>erm actually no it doesn't
>someone says objectively at least once somewhere
>genwarring
/thread
>transgender allegations
>kids aren't that dumb
>you're just exaggerating
>there's no way they could be getting dumber
