I did Rise first. Beat base world and got to IB today. Its a lot of fun and tracking is fun too. I do think tail cuts are easier than in rise and the monsters have less HP, but maybe I am wrong.
Charge Blade is a lot of fun. I have gotten way better at the guard points considering I don't have easy wirebug mobility.

Asmongold is pretty good at games he likes tbqh, but holy shit that DS1 playthrough he did was funny as frick it was like DSP playing but not as depressing. Fatalis isn't really that hard by the time you reach him, I still think he'll take a couple tries on him but that's not too bad. People tend to forget that the difficulty in Monster Hunter isn't really beating the bosses, but getting consistent at them enough to bully and shut them down.

The claw itself isn't bad, if a little bit over powered. What is absolutely cancer the forced tenderization mechanic, where you have to clutch claw the monster and tenderize them, otherwise your damage is kind of shit. Which in the long run doesn't matter too much because you have this guy the thread is talking about never using CC and he's just brute forcing the game with the Chadsword.
I played through World twice, once on release before the claw and once recently with Iceborne and the claw and the claw didn't feel like that big a deal to me, but I also did it all with Hunting Horn and Gunlance which don't struggle to hit the good hitzones on monsters. I can imagine if you use something like SnS or DB and you both had to hit mostly the shittier hitzones and clutch twice to tenderize it might be pretty obnoxious.
