>dont want to play the exact same SC1 because its an extremely linear game with far less diversity than something like CT >be interested in remake
its pretty fair
quite frankly i dont think anyone can be too moronic for the original SC trilogy because they were braindead as frick
It’s going to be the same shit but altered for “modern sensibility” and with a new coat of shiny paint. How about you stop being a mindless consumer and think about what the frick you’re asking for
im not the OP
the only thing that could possibly be worsened is the plot but SC's characters and story has already been raped beyond comprehension and people just want gameplay and levels. SC1 has basically no room for moronic rewrites that ruin the story to better suit the feelings of some homosexual writer beyond some extra lines saying US soldiers did some bad shit

Stop asking for garbage and no saying it was already shit doesn’t make it okay. Either let sleeping dogs lie or make new shit.
>wants to play retro games >too moronic to actually play them >calls others nostalgiagays
>Just replayed the original
It’s janky as frick and you’d know this if you played it recently anon. You’d know basic bullshit like slow crouch behind enemies is not fast enough to catch up to NPC’s while they’re walking so it’s either wait for them to stand still which even then it’s russian roulette as to whether you’ll make it up to them as you’re still too slow so it’s just a game of savescumming if you’re trying to be stealthy.
Oil rig is a steaming pile of horse shit as a mission
The last sections of the game as good as they are and the soundtrack is great, just becomes run and gun unless you savescum to death to try and be stealthy.
I don’t want a remake, but the OG splinter cell is very fricking dated in some ways.
For me, it was the fricking defense section at the end of Abattoir and the homosexual turret room in Chinese Embassy. But yeah, while SC1 has some great levels and moments, while looking much better that you’d expect from a game of that age, jesus frick it knows how to be frustrating with its worst moments.

Nail on the head. Couldn’t have said it better
Entire Abattoir is basically FRICK U the level >searchlight and mines section where you have to toggle goggles all the time >foggy rooms where you can’t see shit but the enemies and especially turrets see everything >and finally the defense section you mentioned, with jihad-tier troops rushing the hostages
The worst things are the forced shooter parts, like the one where you have to kill something like 30 russian mafiosos in the construction yard. Feels like they hadn’t quite nailed down what they want from the game, so you get more both forced action and no-kill-allowed sequences than in the sequels.
i thought it was only 2 forced guys in the construction yard and the rest were all stealthable
I liked the forced action segments in the final mission but that was about it
I recently replayed the game, and all the mobsters in the construction yard part were already super alert and ran to attack me no matter how stealthy I tried to be. Could have been a bug then?
But yeah, the only good forced action sequences were the ones in the final level, not too long, and especially the one in the room with Kombayn is admittably pretty kino. Devs just should have axed all the other ones from the game…
i always wanted an arena like one of the forced ones in the final level with the tall walls, except a bossfight against another splinter cell >throws smoke grenades >can aim with thermal scope >sometimes makes noise or throws something for fake noise >remembers your last position and tries to flank
Splinter Cell 1 is often regarded as the second best in the series. But its aged the worst. It has more unskippable action sequences than Blacklist. The level design makes Final Fantasy XIII look like a choose your own adventure book. Its good, but its showing its age. Pandora Tomorrow, Chaos Theory, Double Agent (version 2), and Blacklist are better games.
IMO SC1 has worse lows than Pandora Tomorrow, but also higher highs. For example, the Presidential Palace and CIA levels straight up mog anything in Pandora Tomorrow with their atmosphere. But on the other hand, the worst shit in PT (like the overly long jungle frickfest) is simply just bit boring, while worst things in SC1 are downright scream-out-in-frustration bad.

shit gets a lot more bearable when you 100% ignore stealth at that final segment and just go in shooting everybody
>Nikoladze is now whiter than snow and actually russian, not Georgian anymore >Anna is now black >Sam is useless half of the time and needs to be hand held through the missions by Anna >Sarah is also black now
Displace International and Shetland will turn out to be Neo Nazis and Sadono and his guerrillas will be omitted in favor of Norman being the sole white terrorist protagonist.
>Lambert: Sam, let me introduce to your new handler, Dr. Baylak Kaween. Dr. Keween, bring Sam up to speed. >Kaween: Sam, the terrorist Johnny Smith has taken control of the nuclear missile silo. If there is anything scarier than a nuke, it's a white man with nukes. Trust me, as a black woman with PhD in nuclear physics, I would know.
No Michael Ironside, no care. The man is in his 70s now and I doubt he will do the voice again. The end of an era. Shit sucks ass. I miss that period from 2001-2005 of some huge graphics improvements to stealth games. It truly was the peak.
intravenous was nice at scratching the light-and-dark stealth itch, but the devs really better come up with some objectives for the sequel that isnt "reach this place then extract"
being able to tap terminals for information would be nice
Rumour was that a few different teams & leads in ubisoft were vying over it
Some wanting to do a straight pure remake, others wanting to completely frick around with it
The shame is that SC1 is pretty janky and could be remade with e.g. Chaos Theory mechanics and more complex levels really nicely
But we all know they'll just shit out blacklist 2
i genuinely believe blacklist has a good core and could be a great game with simple changes and the desire to do more different level design
the game has tons of steps foward and twice as many steps backwards

With modern Ubisoft? Hopefully in the trash
better question is where is the movie
Literally doesn't need one.

Hopefully not coming. I don't trust modern Ubisoft at all.
idk they said they're rewriting it for modern audiences so my excitement is considerably dampened

Will it even be about the Kombayn and the 7-hour information war anymore?
>Rise and shine, Mr. Fisherman…
>Sam, climb that radio tower to recon the area.
>Objective: Don't be seen.
>Collect intel 0/4
>Silent Takedown 200pts
>"Maybe if I tried shutting these lights off..."
you don't want it

have a nice day
Make it more like Metal Gear Solid
Hopefully nowhere. SC doesn't need a remake, I'm happy with the original 3 games.
here's your new Lambert
right behind you
bo
okay frick remake
new splinter cell when?

It can work if they give the player options to choose his experience from Extreme European to ADHD air drops.
Who cares, I want a Syphon Filter remake
kino
I heard this on some meme video recently and it almost brought me to tears
I have fond memories of tasering people until they turned into a lump of charcoal
Syphon Filter isn't a stealth game. Its a third-person shooter, with some stealth bits in it.
They literally just started working on it moron
dont call me that
will it have spies vs Mercs? cause that's the only thing I want
i genuinely believe blacklist has a good core and could be a great game with simple changes and the desire to do more different level design
