My friend is still playing binding of isaac and has over 3,000 hours on it. This guy has been playing it since launch. Why would someone do this instead of play new games? Is it autism?

there's nothing wrong with putting thousands of hours into a game. frick you
It is autism and some autists get aggressive when confronted, see
It is indeed not normal to play a game like Isaac for over 3,000 hours.
the only game i played for 7 years was guilty gear xrd
It is indeed autism
>instead of play new games?
New games are shit. Don't kid yourself there is no reason to play them
New as in new to you. Dumb frick autist, kys.
You sound like an angry consoomer.
>gotta buy all the new!
I know a guy who does the same. He is a stoner
>Is it autism?
Yes.
Your friend is probably autistic about weed.
Is it me? I think I am that guy.
Yes. But you have to appreciate such autistic dedication.
I'd appreciate it more if it weren't 'le poop game' with a targeted age of 11.
He's more happy playing that one game then you'll ever be
>Why would someone do this instead of play new games? Is it autism?
Some people are afraid of trying new things. They get comfortable in one game and that's their comfort zone. It's hard for some people to break out of their comfort zone.
They'll regret it when they get older and realize they wasted all their time in one game instead of experiencing many games. Then they don't have time for new games...
>They'll regret it when they get older and realize they wasted all their time in one game instead of experiencing many games.
This is exactly how I feel about playing WoW and LoL for so long.
Did frick 3 diff girls from these games tjo so sort of worth
i know some 30 year olds still playing league, overwatch, and valorant and still not regretting any of it.
they never play any other games I get to get them to play
>if only...I had played....more video games...*BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP*
Not in so many words, but yes I've heard the sentiment expressed many times from end-of-life patients. Often phrased more like 'I wish I spent more time relaxing/less time working'. Of course that's mostly referring to not building meaningful relationships with family, but also (particularly for older men) resentment and dissatisfaction for being an unappreciated workhorse their entire adult lives.
same reason you keep posting here
It takes more effort to research what you wanna play or merely put in effort to learn lore, gameplay and new challenges, than play the familiar roguelike/multiplayer. just press and turn off your brain. like ordering pizza or lighting a cigarette. addiction.
I fall for this trap myself.
what's the most hours you've seen someone sinking in 1 game?
I have triple that in XI
given a generous amount of 8 hour play time per day
that ends up being 58 months, $760 dollars on one game
and $2280 for you
gamers are literal morons and easily part with their wealth
$2280 is nothing if a game is so engaging to you that you spend almost five years worth playing it
i wish there was a game like that for me
Friend plays it still.
>3000 hours
>their whole life
that's not even entry level, I know people with 50K+ hours in FFXIV and all they do is fricking craft and gather all day and sell gil, or 30-60K+ in path of exile or insert their favorite arpg, hell I put more than 3K hours in several console games back in the 00s, let your dumb friend play his game and get worried when he breaks 20K hours.
path of exile is the best arpg around for many years and changes it up with seasons or whatever
the XIV thing is ridiculous. MMOs do often get those high times from afk and whatnot but there does come a point where theres nothing left and you fall into the trap of sitting around hoping something will happen until you log out to sleep
at one point the person in question possessed 2.6% of all gil on all servers combined and several entire housing districts filled with rare housing items. white hot focused autism is scary, not casual 3K hours in a single game.
there's two types of people who get those kinds of hours in xiv
>ERPgays who afk in the bawdglam for 12 hours a day
>people with obsessive compulsive disorders who fell down the crafting rabbithole
average hour of poe player is at least 1k hours
it has to be
you barely know that game enough to make your own version of a build at like 500 hours
as long as you aren't trying to craft you can make your own builds within about 500 hours, if you are trying to craft though you need at least 10K+ hours and you will still frick up sometimes in the 45 step cross-league crafting chain.
you're jelly he found a game he enjoys that much and you haven't.
frick work simulators and the zombies who "play" them.
>3000 hours
>their whole life
3000 hrs = ~125 days = ~0.3 years
Why are these underaged homosexuals on Ganker instead of suckling off their mother's teat?
why are you friends with a person like that
Normal Black folk.
This.
These are the people buying FIFA every year. They have their one game and they play it and nothing else. Forever.
Sportsman dedicate their entire life and career to one game
World of Warcraft, Civilization 2, The Sims 2, MGSV, GTA San Andreas.
what the frick were you doing for 3000 hours in san andreas?
They aren't real gamers.
Some people find their forever game, mostly its older people like myself who have experienced most of what gaming has to offer, realized that new shit isn't being tried anymore, and when it is, it sucks. For me its the phantasy star online series, they're meant to be played endlessly though.
>Is it autism?
Yes. You will notice that a lot of bad things tend to happen in the news. npcs are usually the cause, and they do things like you describe. The only exception is games that involve some form of socialization.
Don't be such a gay anon.
Is that the only game they play all the time or they play that specific game a lot? If it's the first then yea it could be autism, but if it's the later then no. It could be a game they like a lot.
3000 is nothing why dont you cry about MOBA homosexuals? i bet youre one of them
you really took this thread personal you mobatard.
Ive only ever put 1,000 in one game, Monster Hunter World
I will play Mega Man X2 again and you cannot stop me
3,000 hours in 11 years isn't that crazy. also re zero is a steaming pile of shit for losers who hate themselves.
>used to be able to put hundreds of hours into games
>all the multiplayer games are shit now and all the grindy games somehow release updates that are worse than the last update
I have put +1k hours into several games, sounds like you're just a casual
How many hours have you spent on this website?
I've been here for roughly 2 decades, maybe 3.
How do you not know if its two or three, thats ten fricking years
It's literally autism.
One of my friends is a clinically-diagnosed autistic and he spent 5,000+ hours on FTL: Faster Than Light
I LOVE Binding of Isaac! it is a game I hold dearest to me heart
such memories
ah, binding of Isaac.
isaac has binded me with him 4ever :DDDDDD<3D<3D<3
some of these games have insanely high replay value or their MP games with a lot of dynamic aspects to them due having opponents being humans as opposed to AI.
My younger brother spent at least a decade "playing" Skyrim, but really all he did was mod it, play a bit, mod it some more, break it, re-start with new mods, and repeat the cycle
I know he never beat it, and I doubt he ever got far in it
Those are called the autistic and they have a number of child-like personality traits including being easily entertained, the Binding of Isaac is a good example of what I call 'autism-core'.
video games are for fun, if you enjoy them it's all fine. it doesn't matter if you play one game for 3k hours or 10 games each 300 hours. it's all useless waste of time for relaxing/fun.
people who get mad over someone else enjoying something should just have sex.
>video games are for fun, if you enjoy them it's all fine. it doesn't matter if you play one game for 3k hours or 10 games each 300 hours. it's all useless waste of time for relaxing/fun.
I 100% disagree, everytime I try to bring this concept up someone replies with "fun things are fun!" There are singleplayer games I've played once as a kid that still stick with me and inspire me or make me emotional to this day. When someone has 5,000 hours of Dota 2 it's all just dead air, it's .01 fun factor over the baseline and they just keep playing in the hopes they get fed in their lane and go on a rampage. They don't remember a single game from that 5,000 hours.
Who do you think is a more well rounded, developed individual? Someone who has read 1 book for 10,000 hours or hundreds?
getting mad is better than sex
I wonder what my hour count on masturbation and Ganker is
Tell me OP.
If there was a way to display how many hours you've spent on Ganker, how many digits would your number have?
Been playing Mabinogi for years at this point there's no escape especially now when they're going to pull a NGS and change the entire engine
Will it get east coast servers, if not then theres no point
t. got rekt by west coast players in pvp
>remake game's been out since 2014
>has had several expansions since then
>absolute shit ton of unlocks and no playthrough ever plays the same unless using seeds
>also an absolute ton of mods
10 years and 3,000 hours isn't even that long. Maybe if you didn't have ADHD and didn't have a compulsive need to play yearly EA/Ubisoft/Activision sequels you'll play a game for a long period too.
If he's having fun, then that's the perfect game for him, no need for anything else. If he's not having fun he's just addicted.
I still play gmod TTT with a 4080, and my fps still drops into 40s or lower sometimes, makes me laugh no GPU upgrade can fix it.
so you could say your graphics card has trouble in terrorist town
God damn it carlos.
I have 2,000 hours on war thunder
I've spent hundreds of hours in numerous games and maybe over a thousand in some multi-player ones. It's not that astonishing to see.
Hunt: Showdown killed any other online FPS for me.
The autists who religiously play the same game are happier than the gamer who plays lots of games until he gets burned out.
The most time I ever put into a single playthrough of a single game was 160 hours in Kingdoms of Amalur Re-reckoning with the DLC, and that playtime covered me doing everything in the game completionist style. So, yeah, I agree that putting multiple hundreds of hours into a single game, let alone thousands, is just sad and pathetic. But that's just my point of view and I mostly think people should just play whatever they want.
All I do is play metro 24/7 in Bf4. KINO player base that crack racist jokes and bantz. Lots of good plays and the game is really polished compared to most crap coming out today. Best shooter ever and it appeals to my support role medic autism unlike most fps which is run and gun shit
Yes. Can't wait for the remake. Gonna rip Yukari's 3D model & put a giant Dick on it
Didn't the guy who finally beat DDOJ Death Label take like 8 years trying?
If a game has enough depth you can easily sink thousands of hours into and still not master everything, normalBlack folk who just pass from game to game to chase the next new goyslop disgust me, if you don't have 1k+ hours in a game that is skill demanding I consider you a normalBlack person dog that would be better off watching marvel movies and not shitting up my hobby.
its either
1) play shallow goyschlop
or
2) play good games forever
if you don't have at least several hundred hours in a handful of games or a couple thousand in a few games you don't really belong here. that said I mostly agree. one of the big reasons multiplayer only people weird me out.
ive probably played over 1k hours in DOOM2, but i play megawads, so it's all new content, and i play other games.
Grand strategy and sim/tycoon games I understand. I don't participate, but I understand.
I have more respect for people dedicating themselves to something they love than zoomers who feel like they need to constantly buy new things because of relevance
>Pay $15-30 for a game
>It's highly replayable and fun as hell for you
>Getting the most bang for your buck
>Your idiot friend who buys new games every steam sale and drops them after 30min because his dopamine receptors are fried from live service gacha games has a problem with it
The real problem is you
It's autism
