I think the problem is that those gays aren't trying to deliver the best possible performance. It's that they're all trying to go with an "anime voice" since it's JRPGs and shit. I noticed in the 2010s, every male voice actor started doing the dub Kirito voice. This only got worse after the dub of AoT had the guy doing Eren, do another Kirito voice.

It's genuinely malicious directing, characters like Asuka and Rei and Cardcaptor Sakura sounded fine dubbed, it's only in later years that they start intentionally trying to age up characters through casting.

Then you take a further hit because dubs in general are dine on the cheap, and another hit because people know that about 90% of people who will be buying will use subs anyway so why go above the bare minimum?

They're not? 2 is just particularly bad. 1 was great. 3 was fine. Even X's dub was perfectly serviceable. And even 2 improved a bit at the later stages (though it was still bad). But I don't see how one game's bad dub should taint the entire series' dubs, let alone all of video games.
