Ok I’m sure you can design a 3D childrens game better. Post a screenshot of your version with your fantastic game creation skills and I’ll be here waiting.
Give me Gamefreak's budget and I'll do a better job, sure.
I'll start by hiring actually competant modellers, and texture artists, because that is literally all they have to do. They could release whatever bullshit plot, gimmick and gameplay they want, but they could at least try and make it look decent.
it's capitalism, anon. they're cutting corners to save on expenses in order to pour the savings into profits for shareholders. it's what the system is built to do. what's the point in paying more to create a higher-quality product when you can put out something mediocre and still make the same amount of money?
they just spent 50 millions for ukraine, trannies and refugees, they definitely can afford to hire competent modellers. In fact Gsmefreak is actually the biggest victim in how money are used, games are demanded and deadlines. If they had any balls they'd retake their own IP in their hands
of course they can afford to hire competent modellers, there's just no profit-based reason to do so, so they don't. why fork out the money to do that when you could be pocketing it instead without any noticeable dip in sales? their job isn't to make a good game, their job is to increase quarterly earnings, and skimping on this sort of stuff is an easy way to do that.
Yes. Even worse they are using the "futureproof" incredibly unoptimized models which hog all the resources of the rendering pipeline. It's so inexcusable.
it's honestly really depressing how much Nintendo fell off in terms of console power. Shit like Rise makes much better use of it than anything Gamefreak pumps out, but holy hell
They don't help themselves by not adopting modern visual tech like temporal reconstruction, that can help make games more presentable even on low end hardware, I'm talking about shit like TAAU and FSR. Xenoblade 3 uses it and looks much better than your average Switch game, but most Nintendo first party games have zero image processing and just look like raw dogshit on any big TV.
It's indeed sad for a company that used to push so much innovation (the way the N64 did 3D graphics is fascinating and the Gamecube was a powerhouse) to fall this low.
christ.

its the most profitable franchise in the world. literally every other game that's ever looked better is an embarrassment to it.
why is gamefreak so deathly allergic to learning how to do basic texturing and lighting holy shit
Years into the Switches lifespan and they are still using the 3DS engine for Pokemon aren't they?

you have never played a N64 game
The N64 had hardware level anti-aliasing, while this game literally has none. Don't insult such a good console please.

small indie company please understand
Damn bro..
Holy smokes.
90% of this board will still buy the games anyway
Why bother making making games that look decent when people still buy literal garbage every year?
>JOZEFU WHY DONTU THEY RIKE MY GAME!!!
>1347x974
Well, there you go. Of course it's gonna look like shit on a higher resolution than it's meant for.
