Oh but it can, Gankergay
First visit to the Citadel
The Normandy Reborn
Now, Balin's Tomb is one of the best soundtrack ever written, but don't come here saying vidya doesn't have anything close to it, go back to your board.
lmao @ this SHITTY nuware dialog
>Look at the size of that ship!
>The Ascension, flagship of the citadel seat
>well, size isn't everything
>just saying, HEHE
>look at that monster!
>good thing it's on our side then
vs
>Ah! it's that way!
>He's remembered!
>No, but the air doesn't smell so foul down here. If in doubt, Meriadoc, always follow your nose
>Let me risk a little more light...
>Behold! The great Dwarf-city of Dwarrowdelf!
>Well, there's an eye opener and no mistake
MOGGED
Mogged by the dialogue from the book your movie COPIED, not a merit of the movie scene you posted.
Yeah, despite the inferior dialogue the ME scenes evoke the same feelings, now go back to your board Gankergay
This particular scene is not from the book. It was written for the screenplay. So, no.
>blow up the normandy and kill shepherd
>bring shepherd back 5 minutes later and the normady in 15
JJ abrams-tier shit, ME2 was garbage
that opening melody gives me Goosebumps every time i listen to it
i dont think theres a better collective OST in any form of media than the LOTR trilogy
here you go

what the frick?
kekd but Blackreach was such a hollow nothingburger of a location. It was by far the most interesting part of this slop game however. I would say if anything comes close to OP, it's the forge of hilbongarde or something else from morrowind.
Pretty much every open world game released in the last 15 years have several moments like that - awe and wonderlust when leaving the tutorial dungeon with music raising and all, it's a cliche at this point.
nah you are missing the point of the OP. what those 'moments' as you call them in these new games are doing is trying to emulate OP video. but it's 100% failing and does not elicit the same emotions nor feelings of awe. vidya has failed.
It's true some hit harder than others but there's plenty. Skyrim alone has several
>t. OP
Go back to your board Gankergay
ok but I never said I wasn't OP
there would be a yellow border on bad guy and quest arrows and telling you to run away before it even appears
>Let us go through the mines of Moria!
Overrated slop
Said nobody ever
DS2 is inferior to the other souls games in almost every aspect but I was in awe at the parts of the level design in the Sunken Crown DLC, and parts of it reminded me of this scene. It doesn’t have the same ‘adventure with your mates’ feeling since you’re alone, but I’d argue it adds to a greater sense of bewilderment since you are isolated and utterly small in comparison to the ruins
Because they don't have the equivalent of professional actors giving their reactions in closeups. Movies can direct you to feel awe in more ways that games can.
But also megastructures really come to life in full FOV 3D. i.e mostly IRL.
This is as close as modern gaming will get, or when you get teleported to the capital early via that one chest
>when you get teleported to the capital early via that one chest
that one was real strong, really made an impression on me
I'll do you one better
>Walk out the door after tutorial
>Turn right
>"Ooh some lakeside ruins, gotta explore"
>Open chest
>Literally teleported to Hell without a horse to cross the swamp
>Didn't even know you could fast travel anywhere, had to walk back
Elden Ring release night was a wild ride I tell you
I only found that one after the fact but damn, finding out about that was hilarious
It was just endless CGI pillars. Good dialogue, but they may as well have been in awe at the Deep Roads level in Dragon Age Origins
basically
the music elevates it to "HOLY SHIT IT'S ENDLESS CGI PILLARS" though
>It was just endless CGI pillars
You may have a point with the CGI but in-universe it really is incredible. All of that, carved in stone, and that's just one hall in Moria.
Taking a random elevator you found in a forest in Limgrave is literally this.
