The graphics weren't the problem, the problem was they marketed this game to be "faithful" but they also wanted to incorporate all their shitty modern-day design decisions like exp share, dexcuts, weird balancing changes and the Fairy type without considering how Fairy types would affect vanilla DP. It's a clusterfrick of badly chosen "muh faithfulness" and badly chosen "muh qol improvements" leading to the worst of both worlds, and Gamefreak refusing to give ILCA enough resources to make a non-buggy game is the icing on top.
A straight port of Platinum would have been better and much easier. Very disappointing. Pokemon used to be able to leverage their stagnant franchise to make unusually high-quality remakes by just dumping the old game into the new engine, but now they can't even do that right
Cause that was the first ever made videogame of the Studio behind that.
Prior to that they just helped make menus for other developers.
Yeah I still can't believe they done that with the remakes. In fact I stopped caring about Pokemon after that.
That's the problem. They weren't faithful remakes. See

Pixel shit looks way better than low budget chibi 3d
small indie studio please understand
small indie studios can have good art direction
It's a game for japanese toddlers. Cute chibi characters appeal to japanese toddlers
hyup, i think i'll just stick with the kino
It's either this or the game runs at 240p 15fps. You expect too much from the Switch.
She smol
OG plat with the 60fps hack is all you need
morons don't get it, Gamefreak has no control over what they can make.

All of that is true. But the graphics are a problem, they look like playmobile toys.

They know Sinnohgays have incredibly low standards so didn't need to put in the effort.
that's all pokegays

as if graphic is the only problem with that turd
It does make me horny, however.
I thought people wanted faithful remakes, what went wrong?
That's the problem. They weren't faithful remakes. See
for some examples.
They wanted faithful remakes of Platinum, the objectively superior game
