A developer can release a remaster for $60, and all it is, is a graphical update. Gamers will line up and it will break records. Like Ganker was jerking off to metroid remaster. But then TOTK came out, and their complaint is it's too similar to BOTW.

I liked BOTW but TOTK bored me to tears. Too fricking much busywork and clunkiness. And the shrines were more annoying too. In BOTW you had to think about the solution and when you figured it out, you could execute it quickly. In TOTK you mostly just get basic puzzles that you can figure out quickly but then you have to futz around with Ultrahand to build the solution.

The Metroid remaster had its own problems, but at the least it was truthful in its advertising. It was the same game, but with some QOL changes.
TOTK couldn't even hit the low bar of being DLC. It didn't fix any of the previous game's problems. Infact it made some of them worse. It made so many mechanics useless because of its obsession with being wacky and innovative. Like why ever use a mount if you can build a wacky flying hovercar? Why care about terrain navigation when you can fly over everything? Why care about charting paths and figuring out ways to return to old locales, when wacky fast travel trivializes that too?
Of course fans get so pissed off if you criticize these things.Like this one schizo from last thread who cried about how "YOU NEVER PLAYED IT IF YOU CRITICIZE IT". Like geez, I thought Arthor and his metacritic/game journo spam was bad, but this guy needs a whole tanker of meds.
