Why do games from 2022 barely look better than a game from 2007?

Game above looks funner and it looks like your character will actually respond when you press a button
Technology has stagnated.
Not really. It's being held back on purpose. No point in pushing it really when the consumer will literally eat shit.
Consoles
crysis doesn't look that good anymore
Crysis looks like dogshit today
I hope you get shot in your home the next time you boot up your favorite movie game
YWNBAW troony
Pull up, hoe
I'm playing Uncharted Lost Legacy right meow
I will be tomorrow on PC
Bro are you fricked in the Head they didnt even port it till like 3 years later.
it was like how btow flopped on wiiu then became a success on switch
Its more like you blow me and i come in ur mouth
jews
how the frick was crysis so ahead of its time jesus christ
talent vs. diversity hires, people also keep forgetting you can chop off most trees in crysis
is it true the crysis remaster downgraded the visuals?
Because you're stupid, blind and don't understand what you're talking about.
top doesn't support 4k but bottom does. the pic being 1080p works in favor of the top
bottom has much higher draw distance. being a pic rather than vid where you'd see pop-in works in the top pic's favor
both pics don't feature the front of npcs or any close textures. that works in favor of the top pic. pic related
>top doesn't support 4k
Wtf are you talking about yes it does
nobody played crisis on pc
>doesnt support 4K
Man console Black folk are so fricking stupid
everyone played crisis on console
>top doesn't support 4k
it's a PC game. What in the Black person frick are you talking about?
oh the edge
what are you on about, RDR2 has obvious popin everywhere.
Graphical technology has been barely advacing and it will virtually stagnate from 2050 on.
2050? How fricking high are you i want some. Its already stagnated to hell and back
Diversity hires set the development back, specially in the programming sector.
>NOOOOOO NOT A 2006 GAME THAT RAN ON A 8800GTX AND A CORE DUO WITH 2GB OF RAM HAVING BAD LOD
>HOW COULD THIS HAPPEN
>ILL JUST INGORE THE REST OF THE PICTURE!!!!
NOOOOOOO MR.X LEAVE ME ALONNNE NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
yes, pointing out an ugly part of the screen requires ignoring the rest of the picture. I can also point out the flat angled palm leaves if you'd like. or the rock texture on the right of the gun. or the rock texture under the minimap. or how blurred the mountain is where the crosshair is.
face it, the game is ugly now
>Hehe, this OLD 2006 game looks so much better than this NEW 2018 game.
*points out how it doesn't*
>REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE
Cool thread.
1 tiny place it doesnt match up is draw distance, thats it, seethe.
There are several posts in this thread pointing out bad looking parts. RDR2 is a technological marvel while Crysis is an outdated tech demo. You're welcome.
what seems to be the problem. a location over twice as far as the crisis mountains and it still manages to look fine
Because games are made for console first and most people are still on last gen.
Because the industry has lost its soul.
>Crysis
It was ahead of its time but that's still no excuse.
once Crysis invented ambient occlusion and GI nobody was able to improve upon it until Ray Tracing.
Bottom looks much better.
>OP is a third world shitter overjoyed by the fact that after 16 years he can finally run Crysis
Crysis released with massive downgrades and struggled to run at 512x384 30fps all settings ultra on the latest hardware.
Games aren't even made for low res anymore. They don't push hardware. It's all nearly 20 year old shit at 4k.
Tldr high resolutions hold back graphics.
Pre downgrades still looks better than anything out there now.
Scum like reviewer sites and ”digital foundry" advocated for high resolutions instead of high graphics. People listened to them and parroted the nonsense. That's why. Devs made to a new demand of idiots.
>instead of high graphics
Digital Foundry helped promote high, stable framerates which is a good thing that outweighs all of the downsides to them getting popular.
No. They promoted resolution which is the opposite of high stable framerates.
>In the year 2050, graphics look like real life
>In the year 3000, graphics still look like real life
Damn so much stagnation…
