You were a child
Also forced progression systems
have a nice day gay.
Vidya was much more complex.
>forced progression systems
i wonder what the schizo means by this
They're trying to appeal to the same general audience and be inclusive, instead of allowing themselves to be niche games for a niche diehard audience.
5th gen monhun is superior to the handheld shovelware.
seriously cant tell whats ai or not anymore
I think this one isn't, the text on the boat to the left doesn't have any flaws.
Rent free, no luddits allowed on this board. We’re creating God.
>can't even spell properly
>thinks himself one of the enlightened ones
i thought so too from the thumbnail. closer inspection its real
>almost cant tell the difference between AI and real images
this aint going to end well will it bros?
>1080x717
it's not hard, anon
Only works until it doesnt
most of Ganker is already AI posts
>he doesn't know about the Bahamas pig beach
That pig is cute
games aren't being made by individual guys in a downtown office who enjoyed making them, ordering pizza, working late nights for fun, and making games they also want to have fun playing
they are made by teams of university-graduate morons that would rather spend the entire day posting on twitter, who hate their own customers and don't even play videogames, led and funded by beancounters and shareholders who have no idea why people even play games, and working off data provided by data "scientists" who've distilled the most lucrative videogame format down to a skinnerbox with no reward mechanism
Underrated post.
Literally all the AAA game devs I know are like this. Some of them do actually love games but that light fades after the first couple years. Then it's just food on a table and a shitty healthcare plan like everywhere else.
Because years of excessive stimulation have fried your brain and it takes constantly more and more to fire up the dopamine receptors in your ADD brain.
But sure, it's much easier to blame the gayming industry. It's always someone else's fault you're a spoiled manchild.
Then how come I enjoy old games more to this day?
Are you familiar with the concept of "nostalgia" anon?
>easily mass producible 3d realism slop
realism is the death of art. look at paintings. those Black folk had to go back to blurry shit like impressionism and cubism to make it look good.
>low risk, high reward investment strategies
remakes and remasters are the easiest ways to make money for investors as the brand is already sold to fanboys.
>open world,mini map, quest marker
>lock on targeting
>RPGlite skill twig
>light attack, heavy attack
>dodge roll
consolegays eat these games up. thank you Ubishit
Realism isn't the death of art, it's just another aspect of what art can be
The depictions of greek gods represents them with realistic bodies but the detail and working of stone into these forms is remarkable. More recent artists have done even better than those thousands of years ago in creating realistic statues.
What you're actually doing is just parroting what you heard someone else say without seriously considering whether they might be full of shit
>moron doesn't know what art means
you can take a photo is you want realism. There is literally 0 artistic expression in copying something 1 for 1. Feel free to elaborate on how realism is transformative if you consider it an art
You're completely wrong about everything you're saying. I can just imagine the rants you'd get saying something like this at a photography club or film studio lol
Anon, you honestly just sound like a moronic kid parroting shit you heard other people say, I called it already and you're just cementing it at this point
>literally nothing to back his "own" thoughts
>""you're wrong""
>literally parroting his own previous response
the projection LMAO i accept your concession, brainlet
>I can just imagine the rants you'd get saying something like this at a photography club or film studio lol
>"parrot"
so you're parroting people from a hobby club self-jerking it and calling that art?
taking photos instill literally 0 expression from the "artist". At least people who edit their pictures have that aspect.
Film is an entirely different thing with scripts, cinematography, acting (EXPRESSION!!) most of which do not REPLICATE reality 1 to 1. That is art. moron
>Notices halfway through his rant that he’s also discrediting films as art
>T-that’s different!
Lole
>brainlet can't read and have 0 thoughts
just have a nice day
>brainlet have
Learn how to speak English, moron.
moron has nothing to say because he got owned this hard by an ESL LMAO many would have closed the thread in embarrassment by now. not this thick skinned brainlet who can't even back up his claim besides "parrot"
Loser having a melty
i already accepted your concession, no more (You)s
I did read your post, I’m just laughing at your thought process.
oh this is for you. still nothing huh? KEK just smile and nod.. that is all your tiny little brain can do "parrot"
>responds to a post that brought up film
>moron thinks I was the one who brought it up
oh this is another moron trying to jump into the conversation without reading and nothing to add
>to make it look good.
>genuinely implying the goal of modern art is beauty
lmao you absolute shit-for-brains
Impressionism and cubism look like fricking garbage, and modern art is literally against beauty ideologically. Hyperrealism is among the best art made today.
The death of art is rebelling against nature's perfection.
>Impressionism and cubism look like fricking garbage
subjective, not an actual critic. I love impressionism and hate cubism
>nature's perfection
nature only seems perfect because you're looking at it from a chimp's point of view. Once you ascend to the level of humanity you realize that is not the case.
The sun is actively trying to kill you.
What is the appendix for?
Why do you snip off your foreskin if it's perfect?
Making games has gotten more expensive, so to maximize profits the big games target as many people as possible, which results in them feeling samey and dull.
GODDAMN THAT BUNDA
Technological limitations meant than designers had to use creativity. That's why they are soulful. In fighting games, because of lack of buttons on old controllers, they had to come up with complex button inputs to pull of simple combo moves. Chip-tune music was veery limited yet they made the most out of it.
Because they are.
Go play Deus Ex and tell me a modern game that comes close
For me it's Fallout 1&2 and Gothic 1&2. Not a single RPG made in the past 20 years comes even close.
Because you're a burnt-out depressed bitter wreck with impossibly high expectations.
Because they are.
They cost 5x as much to make but sell for the same. So they need mass market appeal to break even. As a result they are a bigger investment and so, the people making them are less willing to take risks on anything that isn't a proven success.
eat well, porker
Lots of reasons
Companies like EA becoming corporate behemoths gutting talented studios and forcing deadlines, unwilling to take risks.
Video games were more of a niche hobby for nerds and children back then so no need to go after the normie mainstream audience.
Although great the GTA PS2 games brought that new mainstream audience and established a generic formula for open world sandbox games.
Developers could take more risks because the development cycle was shorter and AAA games didn't have $100m+ budgets.
Developers were white Male nerds working in small teams where they could conceive an idea and implement it without it going through some corporate process.
No trannies or women or diversity hires more interested in pushing their gay political agenda in everything than making great vidya games.
If you didn't notice western society is in a terminal state of creative, moral, social, intellectual and spiritual decline. If you're a zoomer you really can't conceive how different things were pre 9/11. We were a optimistic free society looking forward to a bright future in the new millennium and technology was going to revolutionize and change our lives for the better, in such an environment people were trying to push the boundaries a lot more.
lack of creativity and the need to be lazy and steal money from gamers.
entitled little smirking rats coming up with schemes on how to scam us
Blackroid paid comoanies to ruin their IPs
You just know
>AI can generate perfect brown bunda already
The future is looking good
the bloat in graphics brought a massive increase in development costs, particularly for AAA productions. this pushed developers to follow standardized templates that have been proven successful. just see how many TPS have a control scheme similar to Uncharted 1, which came out 16 years ago. before the seventh generation there was more room to experiment because making games simply wasn't as expensive. the seventh was the transitional phase, but by the eighth the issue got gangrenous
its real to me
Did you know that pigs can swim? I found this out when my friend pushed one into a river.
Also it's because the formula has been perfected and everything uneccessary has been filtered to cut on costs, including soul.
Because they are.
Because you were a child, and games now are designed by committee and the suits, and they copy each other so much now that there are skill trees, perks, and crap like that everywhere, even when they don't belong.
They're made by people like this who idolize guys like that
