That's true. Your end goal is not to kill God here, but you do fight him, and maybe that's as close as we'll ever get honestly.

        >Despite being its creator, the God holds no love nor attachment toward all the living beings, seeing them as something that only existed, to be gazed upon, and to be known about.
        >To this end, the God created the Judgement of Time, an event that decides the fate of the world every thousand years
        I dunno about this one.

probably because there's like 10 million gods in japan so it's easy thing to do. anything you want to make as a boss there's god that you can use to make it seem more cool than just having non god as enemy. then japs go all "wooow it's the god of ant leaf eaters! frick yeah that's awesome!!!"

Usually you are fighting A god or something with the power of a god, but never just God as Christianity knows him, aside from SMT, but that's the point of SMT. The point is that it's a simple power fantasy to play as the underdogs who ultimately triumph over some seemingly insurmountable force. It is cathartic to the average joe who encounters many hurdles in life they are unable to get over. It is escapism.

In Japan there isn't as much of a barrier between human and god as here in the west. To them the Abrahamic God is just a really powerful dude, not the omnipotent creator of the universe.

Evil appearing under the mantle of Good is an universal and historical trope designed to teach children not to take all things at face value. One of Christianity's most famous parables is precisely the betrayal of Judas Iscariot

Christianity isn't that big in Japan so they really just take it as a potential setting for games, that's also where lewd nuns come from.

Japan treats Christianity the way westerners do Greek/Egyptian/Norse/etc mythology. They have no reason to respect it because the vast majority of them don't believe in it, it's just an intriguing fiction to them.

They have a thing for Gnosticism & Kabbalism. The mystic nature is close to Buddhism which allows them to critique it indirectly.

It has almost nothing to do with Christianity and is very easy to understand if you know at least a little bit about the religious history of Japan.

It's exotic western myths for them like greek mythology and what not. In the XVII century it was seen as a threat and rightfully so, the efforts of jesuit missionaries sent by Portugal, one of the strongest naval empires of the west with multiple colonies around Africa, Asia and America, converted 500k people in Nagasaki in just a few years. Then they purged them and a few went into hiding. 200 years later the christian ban was lifted. And 72 years after that? The USA dropped an atomic bomb in what was practically the capital of christianity in Japan.

    Is SMT/Persona a satanist series?

Lucifer is either the anti-hero, one of the strongest demons or the boss of a lot of the games.

He's a villain, he's just a hypocrite on top of it. He's also the last boss more often than YHVH.

SMT is a "Religionboo" (to coin a phrase) series. It's not about a specific message against religion, it's about "look how much exotic stuff we have in our series! It's just like the Yokai myths!"

No. The YHVH isn’t the Christian god and is more like the demiurge. The Digital Devil version is the closest they got to depicting capital G God.

Japanese fiction involves killing a lot of Japanese Gods too, although you see that more often in anime than games. It has nothing to do with the west.
