It's got a great atmospheric story but even for the time it played like shit. If you can handle OG Resident Evil tank controls then you might have a good time.
Not the same anon here, but even though I like tank controls and think they're unironically good in RE games and played A LOT of games with them, the ones in Martian Gothic are stiff and horrible.
It fricking sucks but I like the game a lot due to it's atmosphere and setting. Unkillable enemies, moon logic puzzles, confusing level layout and clunky controls, it has all of these as negatives but it still manages to have a pretty unique atmosphere even for a RE clone. If you do decide to play it, play the PC version with a walkthrough, and remember that if you mash buttons fast enough when grabbed in this game you won't take any damage. Also, the music is good and there are bizarre and very memorable moments in the story.
All soul and passion and creativity has been extinguished in the west. We have blown our load and the fun times are over.
This looks like it should be a hardcore silent hill type survival horror but its actual a comic book style horror tps. So dissapointed. It is a dark as hell game, makes Doom 3 look bright iirc.
Because companies are stuffed with idiot suits who do too much market testing with morons who don't actually tell them anything regarding whether or not the game will look interesting for a potential purchase.
because games marketing trends, behavioral psychologists, and non-gamer focus groups are the only factors that inform decisions on any game with a team bigger than 30 people.
welcome to the Gaming Industry run by international boomer investor conglomerates who have never played anything since Pacman in college. Enjoy your stay. and remember, the line must go up.
What actually led to the fall of vidya game covers? None of them spark "oh shit I wonder what this is" in me anymore.
Frick, even medicore games got great covers. Like this one. It looks kinda generic on the net but the real version is a holographic picture that makes the dude look like he has depth.
in the game there's some alien dead space artifact shit that merges people in close proximity together. an actual in game mechanic is you can't have 2 people in the same room or they'll merge and cause a game over.
I completely forgot about this game
Is it actually good?
it's basically resident evil in space and you need to switch between each of the 3 characters to solve puzzles

Imagine getting filtered by tank controls
imagine willingly eating shit
>can't comprehend pushing up makes you go forward
lol
now you're just projecting

Things were wild at the turn of the century.
The games are probably disappointments, aren't they?
Nocturne is cool, Martian Gothic sucks.

>games with boxart way better than the game itself
Because it doesn’t adhere to the homogenising tastes of marketing departments worldwide.

rofl for what grandpa?
for displaying in your steam/GOG/whatever library
what's wrong? don't you love orange and blue?
unironically looks good
How'd they get 3 heads into one helmet?
They don't even use boxes anymore.
Evil israelites (but I repeat myself) cannot create anything new, they can only subvert and destroy what good forces have already made.
Right before the era of faces on the cover.
tbh old video game covers do give me the shivers
How so?
that cover was horrid back then and still is
ESLs won't know what it is

'Martian Gothic' Gothic 2 set on Mars? Someone call the israelite SsethTzeentch
This isn't unique?
it looks like a very generic rap album cover honestly
she looks like she dates white men
There's been some fricking ugly people on covers lately.
If I wanted to see a paki girl on my vidya box art I'd go to class once in a while
Looks generic, very misleading, you don't know how insufferable this really is if you look at this cover

Even indie games which are supposedly where the "soul" is now, look boring

How'd 3 Black folk manage to get trapped in the space suit?

I was scared as frick when I tried this game when I was a kid
This is the kind of cover that makes you buy the game
