The only "anti-cheat" is to prevent people from uploading pawns with busted stats beyond that you can cheatengine the game as much as you want.
Denuvo also usually doesn't prevent modding, it doesn't prevent the entire game from being tampered with just with startup/verification routines.

The economy is super awful right now. DD1 started this shit, and it was complained about back then too. It was so long ago I literally forgot and now remembering I actually refused to get the game when it was only out on console over that shit. Not to mention that fans of one game or series doesn't mean they're a fan of all other games and series from the same company so RPG fans who may not have been following Capcom at all due to their other games are just being greeted with "These single player games are anti-modding and have mtx” for them' for the first time. And that’s another thing too, maybe from Skyrim they expect "open world single player RPGs should mean mod support!" and instead the game has strict DRM and mtx in it to be a single player MMO.
I also think ecelebs played a partin the packlash Where many people who may have never played Dragon's Dogma or may much of other Capcom’s games that were all taken by the hype train by their favorite ecelebs promoting the game. Who all neglected to mention there were mtx. And then they also have in game characters of themselves. So tricked into pre-order a very expensive game that comes day 1 with DLC and mtx, on the recommendation of their ecelebs who shilled it for them, and finding out AFTER release that they were so in bed with Capcom they had in game characters.

Because the game runs like shit. If it didn't run like shit, this wouldn't be happening. It's a weird sequence but that's genuinely what it is. The game runs like shit, it made people angry, and then they look for every negative aspect they can find against it.
Not to say I disagree, though. I think the drama is massively overblown, but I also think all the "DLC"s and microtransactions of both DD2 and all Capcom games since MHW should be eliminated. At least DD2 doesn't (currently) have any unique items like the endless reams of cosmetic DLC for MH, which no one fricking buys anyway so I don't know why Capcom keep doing it. That said, MHW and Rise are ongoing semi-GaaS games since they have hosted servers etc, and you have to justify that cost as a business somehow. Allowing mouthbreathers to buy ferry stones and rift crystals is probably the way that impacts me personally the least. But I also don't want it to be there at all because its existence as an option offends me morally.
It's an impossible situation to fix so long as israelites gonna israelite.

Yeah, it reaches the lofty heights of what, ~90fps on a 7800X3D and 4090 in the wilderness? The game runs like shit. It should be hitting 120+ on significantly lower hardware than that. Frametimes everywhere are also fricked up, and there are stutters in some situations. The consoles also all run like total shit constantly. The city runs extra primo ungodly shit, has ghost people spawning in constantly in front of you even as you're bumping into them, and is probably where the majority of the rage comes from. And the worst part is it's not even graphical, it's something in the NPCs, or SOMETHING, so changing any settings makes almost no difference.

Lightning spells drop the frames hard for me on PS5, especially when other magic is also happening. Fighting a chimera in a dank dark cave should have higher frames an not be dropping to 20.
It's funny because playing on PC, every effect in the universe can be raining down right on top of the camera while fighting a big monster and the framerate doesn't budge an inch because of it. It's running abysmally and fluctuating all over the place, yeah, but in the exact same way as if nothing was happening. I even have the raytracing on and it didn't make the tiniest bit of difference. It does make the game look much nicer though, very good sense of physicality with the RT on.

For example, that people mess something up in character creation that then becomes obnoxiously obvious to them in the game is a thing since forever and since the devs for some moronic reason thought no one would ever want to start a New Game in a singleplayer game, players not only bricked their games and fricked up their saves to do exactly that, no, their attention will obviously fall on the microtransaction that allows them to change their character right away without jumping through any of the strange hoops that totally not exist to incentivise it (like playing the character they want to change to find some trader where they can buy a item to do that 2 times). Same with the fast travel microtransactions becoming very obvious to players when you add up that supposedly the "journey is part of the game's vision" with bad optimization and low enemy variety that attacks you every 5 steps.

By the way, the game runs pretty alright outside of the major city even on my 3080 mobile (1440p, stable 60 FPS and a bit above). But I do agree that the fps drop in the city fricking sucks, hopefully they patch it soon to run a bit smoother than it's a pretty fun game.

I think a lot of people are misusing P2W with it, it's really more Pay 4 Convenience. Though even with that said, I'm still against it. At face value there's a lot of arguments that sound nice, like "but people have kids" and some that can sound awful, "its stupid people tax, just don't buy it". They never touch on the real issue with it all though, even if it's Pay4Convenience, it affects the industry at large. Not just the people buying the microtransactions.
When this stuff is ignored, or worse, encouraged it does affect the basis of how videogames are designed. The addition of Pay4Convenience items creates a solution, in turn it encourages game design to create a problem to push customers towards buying that solution. If you look you can see this happen in a lot of games, the grind is made longer, items are made harder to get, time limiters are created to slow progression, etc.
It affects everything, I'm not gonna shit on you for enjoying the game but I wish people could just take a step back and look at all of this logically. There's a psychology in game design, I first took notice of it back when Mobile games were starting out and moving from ads to in-app purchases and timers. It has gotten worse since then, and infected console and PC games heavily.

The DLC is mostly useless but the music in DD2 is disappointingly mediocre after the 10/10 soundtrack in DD. I did plan on doing at least one full playthrough with the DD2 music, but it's just not enjoyable to listen to.

These are different games that attract different audiences. Not everyone has nothing better to do than consume every vidya slop pile produced, especially remakes, which DD2 just barely walks the line on being one itself.
The 3DS Zelda remakes (Majora and Ocarina) did it perfectly I think. There were lots of quality of life changes and most loved them. I remember there being some issues with the fog at release, but that was later fixed up for free.
Additionally, recent RPG releases like Elden Ring and Baldurs Gate have no DLC of any kind to this day. DD2 is now the OUTLIER in single player RPGs that still try to sell you in game items for real world money.
