Came here to post KC:D. It's the only game I've ever played where walking through the forests feels just like actually walking through a temperate forest rich with foilage, wildlife, and undergrowth.

Shame they used modern forests instead of old growth, though it's understandable as there's literally no reference for what European old growth looked like anymore. Still better and comfier than any other continent's forests.

This. I backpack a lot, for weeklong trips. The forests in this game are the closest I've seen to real ones in terms of feel. If you play this game and turn off the map/compass features you can genuinely get lost in these woods, almost as realistically as in reality.

      Anonymous

Ironic. It's the exact opposite. All those people who live away from nature love nature, because they don't know it, they romanticize it. It's an imaginary hypothetical to them, nothing more. eg. Ganker morons who sit on their computer literally all day and haven't even gone outside in years. The people who actually had to deal with nature and live around it all grow to hate it, because they know it for the dirty, disease-ridden green hell it is.

        Anonymous

OP is literally complaining vidya nature isn't dirty, grimy, and disease-ridden enough though. Vidya nature in games looks like a clean plastic playset instead of someplace you want to get out of as soon as possible (that still looks nice).

Alright, Mr. Mountain man, tell me what horrors you've encountered in the wilderness. I live in a tiny town in northern Canada that's surrounded by forests and lakes. I like walking through the forests, and during the summer I go fishing and sometimes swimming. The only wildlife related "problems" I've had are mosquito swarms, and one time I got bit by a tiny leech, which I just plucked out. Apart from that, wildlife is never a problem. During the winter I don't even see bugs at all, just cute animals like foxes and ravens.

              Anonymous

I grew up in a small village in the balkans, some shitty artificial "village" in Canada isn't actual nature, it's a sanitized resort place under the protection of advanced infrastructure. No matter where you are in Canada you have electricity, pest and wildlife control, roads, etc. not to mention you set out with bags of equipment and safety tools, so stfu you have no idea about nature, may it all burn in agony

                >you have electricity, pest and wildlife control, roads
Not in the middle of the forest, lmao. You gotta go a few miles outside of town to get to the good fishing spots. Out there there isn't even cell service.
                >you set out with bags of equipment
Are balkansgays really too poor to afford a small box with line, a few hooks and a brick of cheese?

nature is an absolute b***h, every single action by human beings has been in an effort to wall it off from ourselves. Because it's literally trying to kill us 24/7. Sure civilization has its own sort of madness but its the madness of the gilded cage.

Nature sounds great and all until you get bitten by a tick once and are severely crippled for life (or just fall into a coma and die). In another 1000 years the spread of ticks will probably make most places uninhabitable regardless of other factors.
