>grass perfectly uniform in size shape and color with no other plants, bugs, rocks, branches, weeds, overgrowth, trampled paths, decayed parts, exposed ground, foxtails, dandelions, clovers, dark AO shadows, color variations, etc
Sterile plastic and soulless
KC:D and Crysis beat BotW/TotK and not just because they're more realistic. Switch hardware unfortunately holds back how dense and lush those could be.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance has some nice naturekino.
Came here to post KC:D. It's the only game I've ever played where walking through the forests feels just like actually walking through a temperate forest rich with foilage, wildlife, and undergrowth.
Shame they used modern forests instead of old growth, though it's understandable as there's literally no reference for what European old growth looked like anymore. Still better and comfier than any other continent's forests.
This. I backpack a lot, for weeklong trips. The forests in this game are the closest I've seen to real ones in terms of feel. If you play this game and turn off the map/compass features you can genuinely get lost in these woods, almost as realistically as in reality.
If you zoom out there would be nature all around you though! That you never interact with in your normal routine because you just drive to sit in a windowless room for 8 hours and then drive home.
because most developers never touched grass and even the vast majority of "outdoorsy folks" only know the sterile post-mass-destruction grasslands of europe and the US
Ironic. It's the exact opposite. All those people who live away from nature love nature, because they don't know it, they romanticize it. It's an imaginary hypothetical to them, nothing more. eg. Ganker morons who sit on their computer literally all day and haven't even gone outside in years. The people who actually had to deal with nature and live around it all grow to hate it, because they know it for the dirty, disease-ridden green hell it is.
OP is literally complaining vidya nature isn't dirty, grimy, and disease-ridden enough though. Vidya nature in games looks like a clean plastic playset instead of someplace you want to get out of as soon as possible (that still looks nice).
No dude, I dig in the ground and olay with grubs and feed them to my koi pond. You remind my of my stepbro who works in lanscaping and hates bugs and gets upset like a girl when you show them to him talking about how bugs are horrific. Just a pussy that can't handle the raw majesty of nature, good parts and bad.
Lmao you're a nasty fricking subhuman, nature is all filth, your brain is broken and you have the IQ of an animal quite clearly. It's not just insects, its poisons, bacteria, viruses, fungi, humidity, all horrible things that make life miserable. Stop using a computer and stop playing video games if you're delusional enough to think nature is majestic, go live in the forest like an animal and die of starvation please

You love to find homosexuals like this in the wild.

Anon don't make me come to your house and shove a snake up your dilapidated butthole, though I'm sure you'd love that. Also very based image mr hippie homosexual. Mark my words, one day all animals and trees on earth will die, in a large fireball preferably, and only the perfection of synthetics will survive
Alright, Mr. Mountain man, tell me what horrors you've encountered in the wilderness. I live in a tiny town in northern Canada that's surrounded by forests and lakes. I like walking through the forests, and during the summer I go fishing and sometimes swimming. The only wildlife related "problems" I've had are mosquito swarms, and one time I got bit by a tiny leech, which I just plucked out. Apart from that, wildlife is never a problem. During the winter I don't even see bugs at all, just cute animals like foxes and ravens.
I grew up in a small village in the balkans, some shitty artificial "village" in Canada isn't actual nature, it's a sanitized resort place under the protection of advanced infrastructure. No matter where you are in Canada you have electricity, pest and wildlife control, roads, etc. not to mention you set out with bags of equipment and safety tools, so stfu you have no idea about nature, may it all burn in agony

>you have electricity, pest and wildlife control, roads
Not in the middle of the forest, lmao. You gotta go a few miles outside of town to get to the good fishing spots. Out there there isn't even cell service. >you set out with bags of equipment
Are balkansgays really too poor to afford a small box with line, a few hooks and a brick of cheese?

Shit man Balkans don't have cell service in the middle of the city
kek true but there are some people out there who really do enjoy the suck. of course that's not any of the posers here pretending to be le ebin trad mountainman hunched in front of their computers
nature is an absolute b***h, every single action by human beings has been in an effort to wall it off from ourselves. Because it's literally trying to kill us 24/7. Sure civilization has its own sort of madness but its the madness of the gilded cage.
because most developers never touched grass and even the vast majority of "outdoorsy folks" only know the sterile post-mass-destruction grasslands of europe and the US
Composition matters. This looks about as dynamic as the crayon drawings I made when I was 5. This is in part why Skyrim still fricks, almost everywhere you look there is something to draw the eyes if that makes any sense
Because nowdays the """fame""" is of how long the dick the American and Japanese industry believes they had, instead of making a good game like before.
Nature sounds great and all until you get bitten by a tick once and are severely crippled for life (or just fall into a coma and die). In another 1000 years the spread of ticks will probably make most places uninhabitable regardless of other factors.
Agreed.
Any video games that have wild, untamed nature?
Horizon Forbidden West, Final Fantasy XV
Thank you for listing some games with sterile and lifeless nature
Monster Hunter World
Maps too small
Minecraft
Chum Planet
Northern Journey
Unironically BotW/Totk
Plastic washed out trash
nah
>posts more plastic washed out trash
nah
You're posting the same tiny area. Most of the game looks like OP's pic. Not that there's anything wrong with it. OP is a moron.
>t. contrarians that can't enjoy anýthing good
I can enjoy good things, that's why I didn't enjoy the nature in BOTW/TOTK
garbage games that ruined a good franchise
>t. first Zelda was Twilight Princess
nah
>grass perfectly uniform in size shape and color with no other plants, bugs, rocks, branches, weeds, overgrowth, trampled paths, decayed parts, exposed ground, foxtails, dandelions, clovers, dark AO shadows, color variations, etc
Sterile plastic and soulless
Looks like shit. Not surprising tho, it's a switch
fpbp
anyone claiming anything else hasnt played any videogames
KC:D and Crysis beat BotW/TotK and not just because they're more realistic. Switch hardware unfortunately holds back how dense and lush those could be.
crysis is kino
Kingdom Come: Deliverance has some nice naturekino.
Disgusting. Should be burned down and the ugly deer should be turned into a nice steak
Came here to post KC:D. It's the only game I've ever played where walking through the forests feels just like actually walking through a temperate forest rich with foilage, wildlife, and undergrowth.
Also Crysis still remains a highpoint of junglekino
Shame they used modern forests instead of old growth, though it's understandable as there's literally no reference for what European old growth looked like anymore. Still better and comfier than any other continent's forests.
Surely some dude described one in writing at some point
Notoriously unreliable method, the closest we have are old paintings

Dark and Light
Beware: It's an abandoned early access game, buy at your own risk
An oil refinery would look gorgeous here
>Demon spawned wretches!
>You will ALL die!
Kena Bridge of Spirits.

Nice bait
That's just the field, this would be the forest from OoT
because this is where they are made
game studios don't know dick about nature
This is where half of the people complaining about city dwellers live, there's no difference.
Looks the exact same to me
If you zoom out there would be nature all around you though!
That you never interact with in your normal routine because you just drive to sit in a windowless room for 8 hours and then drive home.
How did devs do it before then
Cold and lush greens instead of grayish, musty or warm greens.

>Is that a bug? EW EW EW EW I'M GOING INSANE! SAVE ME Black personMAN!
lmao, what a bunch of pussies.
you're a larping moron who sits on a computer all day, commit suicide immediately

They all copied Zelda
is this one a gacha game?
i'd say yes since it's a mobile game
Because game devs are weedy city slickers with minimal countryside experience
Why can no video game match the soulful feeling I get when I go for a walk in the countryside?
They don't want to remind you of the good life

realism is sterile and lifeless
Maybe get off Pluto and come back to Earth, moron.
>t.brainlet zoomer
Zoomers are the ones busy trying to live in virtual fantasy land instead of engaging with reality.
look you are too dumb to participate in this discussion you don't even know what I quoted. Go back to watching your tik tok kid
Shut up zoomzoom
>buzzword buzzword
I accept your concession.
pic unrelated?
console limitations
Soul. What is this?
Chrono Cross
Why does the wildlife in seem so much more organic and real than the wildlife in
It seems to me they forgot translucency effect on several plants, it causes the leaves to look like plastic
To appeal to your sex life.
Avatar's forests are unironically amazing.
i remember seeing this and thinking it looked cool, then realizing it is just farcry: pandora and losing all interest.
Looks fake and plastic
Avatar media will always be impressive tech demos, I'll give them that.
Came here to post the 2009 game. Unbelievably underrated RPG.
Damn shame the sequel game doesn't let you play as the RDA
Nature sounds great and all until you get bitten by a tick once and are severely crippled for life (or just fall into a coma and die). In another 1000 years the spread of ticks will probably make most places uninhabitable regardless of other factors.
That's why I let turkeys graze my unfenced yard. Keeps the ticks at bay.
kinda sad that my main apprehension towards doing outdoors shit like I did as a kid is ticks. Horrifying shit.
Because it takes fewer art assets and is easier to render.
why do devs hide distant environments with fog so often?
It's just the easiest method besides setting up a bunch of hill assets or putting a .jpeg wall.
>Erictroony is ITT bashing Nintendo for no reason again
Face it, Palworld lost.
Wrong thread?
Monster Hunter World
Early 3D is soulful. Peaked with Metroid Prime.
That looks nice though
