This.
FSR is always available because it doesn't cost them anything. AMD partnerships are just them going "Yeah, we worked with AMD to make sure their features work as good as possible"
AMD isn't paying studios to not use DLSS - That makes no sense. Studios who have AMD partnerships simply refuse to support DLSS because they assume that FSR is good enough already.

It's good enough, yes, but the main reason is that it's simpler for multiplat development as they can use it on all three main platforms, whereas DLSS would be extra cost for PC only.
DLSS is going to become irrelevant because Nvidia will exit the gaming business. Their consumer GPU revenue has already halved while the datacenter sales are booming, we'll probably see 2 more generations of Geforce before they're done.

How is it not demanding? You render the same scene multiple times to get samples. And it only starts to look really good at a 4x factor. Its almost as bad as running a 4K resolution in a 1080p card.

MSAA? It looks better, sure, but it is simply not viable.
If you are talking about FXAA, it doesn’t remove aliasing and looks worse than both FSR and DLSS.
Sounds bullshit but I could imagine Nvidia just leaving the mid-range gpu market entirely and only using their reject datacentre dies for halo gaming products. 5090 32gb and 5090 16gb models and nothing else. And no selling of dies to aibs, just emulate apple.
Data center and AI sales are going to crater soon when Nvidia loses its monopoly and then all they'll have is a middling gaming market that absolutely hates them.

I'm running a 8GB 5700XT and play everything at 1440p on high settings. Never dips below 80 fps.
So I ask again, what in the frick are they running that gimps their performance so hard they have to downscale?
in performance mode and its basically a 6600xt. people are buying rtx 4090s and enabling dlss quality 1440p which is 1707x960 or worse than 1080p which is what xbox series s a $300 console runs its games at.
>muh fake frames
Literally everything is programming is "fake".
I don't see you complaining about "fake calculations" when an algorithm does something that would otherwise require a lot of manual computations.
> people are buying rtx 4090s and enabling dlss quality 1440p
No one with a 4090 uses DLSS in1440p unless it’s those meme tech demo real time pathtraced settings.
Consoles are using upscaling too lol. We're somehow on the third gen since companies declared "full HD" consoles and games are still releasing at native 720p sub 60 fps.
they do it tastefully though. quality mode is native 4k or native 1440p. performance mode is upscaled with fsr or checkerboard. but still native or fsr1 is better than whatever dlss quality 1440p ai frickery you enable.

raytracing is fake. so are cube maps and prebaked lighting. but one takes up 1000% more system resources and the other doesn't while achieving nearly similar results. the only differences are time spent making. time is money to these companies so they choose the shorter time route which has higher system requirements.
>proprietary.
FSR is open source like everything that AMD did in the past. DLSS is proprietary like NVIDIA like to have it their way since forever except this time AMD owns the console market so frick you njewdia
I dont even know why people use dlss antialiasing or whatever other random shit out there, every single game looks blurry as frick, why the frick would you use something that make your screen have glaucoma
Why would AMD block DLSS in some sponsored games and not others? More likely, they're paying and helping developers integrate FSR 2.0+ into their games, then devs, who tend to do the bare minimum, don't bother adding DLSS because FSR already covers all of their playerbase. Conversely, when Nvidia pays devs to integrate DLSS in their game first, the non-Nvidia portion of their playerbase would be left with no upscaling solution if they don't add FSR or XeSS, so they add them.
I'm not saying it's impossible there's no foul play going on, but PC gamers are such moronic Nvidia wienersuckers and believed this story with nothing but very weak evidence. I'm glad they are being and will continue to be shit on by Jensen with overpriced garbage GPUs for all eternity. And journos who ran with the moronic WCCFTech article that started this and didn't bother asking actual game devs what's going on worthless.
FSR can even be used – and is used quite extensively – on consoles. It's the de-facto standard upscaling solution on consoles nowadays.
Even Nintendo added FSR1 in Tears of the Kingdom, because it's open-source and anyone can make use of it for free. Emulators started supporting it as well because why the frick not.
>Nvidia fricks over Radeon with shady practices for 23 years >It’s only when AMD does the same that suddenly gamers care
Lmao at you corporate wienersuckers.
PC gamers are subhuman. They keep slurping green semen, then cry every time NVidia releases an even shittier generation of GPUs than the last. until about 10 years ago, AMD were releasing affordable GPUs that kept selling like shit, so they stopped even trying and just price match Nvidia with a slight discount for missing features.
Looking forward to AMD exiting the desktop GPU market once they hit under 5% market share.
>so they stopped even trying
well maybe if they didn't stop trying and hired enough codemonkeys to make them proper drivers there would be a reason to buy amd?
nobody fricking cares about hardware with no features and only trannies care about troonix
Even funnier, they're complaining about something nvidia is doing while blaming amd
Amd isn't the one forcing people to pay nvidia for its proprietary dlss
performance > image quality that stopped mattering since like 2016 maybe earlier
imagine having console tier fps just because your moronation tells you to have the biggest number in resolution tab
lmao, classic ayymd. zero innovation, just make an inferior copy of what nvidia does and pay gaming companies to block support for nvidia.
how ridiculous is it that intel is the only hope for competent competition against nvidia on the gpu market, AMD clearly ain't it. we're fricked.
Why do AMD dick riders always resort to lying? You do understand it just makes Radeon look even worse, right? DLSS doesn't cost a penny to implement and FSR wasn't a thing until years after nvidia announced DLSS so calling dlss a copy is just a ridiculous level of dishonesty, you're attempting to present a completely inverse situation.

why did nvidia force games into having tessellation?
why did nvidia force games into having gimpworks when even their cards struggled to run them and AMD had tressfx and other alternatives?
was it to "improve" games or just frick up AMD performance because a lot of tessellated shit kept running in the background even with the option off? >it's ok when israelitevidia does it
>Why is Nvidia allowing FSR
because after 2 decades of knowing fanboy will buy their cards no matter the gimmicks they just don't care about AMD anymore
I love proprietary tech consolizing the PC market. I really can't get enough of consumer homosexuals like OP desperately justifying the team they chose with their money. It's so entertaining.
it's other way around, AMD isn't blocking anything, nvidia won't let you put DLSS in unless you put nvidia rtx logo on it
people are confused, FSR is open source and can be put in any game on notification basis
DLSS requires extensive Nvidia cooperation, you need to give nvidia full access to the game, they don't let you simply copy dlls like modders do it
that's just a tool, that's not how corporation relations work
you can't simply add a tech to a game owned by another corporation
I may be wrong about FSR on notification basis, it is probably used for console versions which lets devs add it to pc easily without much lawyer bullshit
He’s right, though. You literally can. You can even mod it into other games. Because the source code is available to the public, because the license allows it and because Nvidia publicly offers a SDK on github.

Are the supercomputers that simulate player playing the game and capture all the viewpoints that player can see while playing the game for reducing artifacting and improving the upscale available to everyone?
Dumb homosexual.

people tend to forget that proper DLSS integration involves sending all game assets to nvidia to upscale the textures to 16k for hundreds of hours

No, moron. You're clueless. Both FSR2 and DLSS2 don't require that.

you do not understand what proper integration means, DLSS only on software level is same quality as FSR because you can't invent textures on the fly
nobody in their sane mind would risk even 1% possibility of a lawsuit
if there is no contract no tech for any big money title, lets take starfield as recent example
say game sells 15m copies, nvidia goes to court saying they used our tech to promote our competition. nvidia can ask a pretty decent percentage of profits for this.
I vaguely remember precedent like this in some news, but could be wrong.
>NVIDIA sponsored titles fricking over AMD for decades >AMD does a half assed job once and the internet loses its mind
Damn, NVIDIA really be like that.
nah, that's from steam surveys
do the math, steam accounts ~150m
20% of it got pretty decent GPUs, other 80% is 1060s and laptops playing dota and other shit
that is a lot of people with decent gpus
i'm so glad this is finally getting traction
been saying for years how anti-consumer they are when they sponsor a game, it's almost a death sentence for the quality of a PC port. They don't work with developers at all and just blacklist all of Nvidia's techs
All I care about is that at the moment AMD parts are like at most 5-10% worse than their Intel/Nvidia counterparts but cost 20%+ less, so I'm building my new PC with ayymd parts.
>5600 is superior to 12400
Not really. The 12400 used to trade blows with the 5600x, with varying performance depending on the use case. The small performance loss from the non-x doesn’t do it any favors in an already close comparison.
But the X literally doesn't mean anything other than having an X in the name. Ayymd throws an X at the end of the name if they slightly increased the clock, with a non-X the only "downside" is maybe losing on the silicon lottery and not being able to OC as much.
the new 3d CPU is hinted to be the most OP shit ever at cost save value for gaming and work in general, and is AM4 and DDR4 compatible.
Jhewtel is desperate to work on lower nm scale but they keep fricking up the process.
>at raytracing
That's the thing, Nvidia is good at shit I don't care about. I want high framerate 1080 gaymen and don't really care for eye candy, AMD is so much cheaper for that.
I have strong preference for Nvidia but i do not mind amd doing everything they can to get more share of the market. Nvidia being so dominant sucks for me as consumer.
Speaqking of NVIDIA
All reviews are out, the 4060 sucks ass harder than the ti version and is also overpriced and full of faulty issues on the long run.
Because DLSS looks like straight horses ass if not trained on the game first. As seen in every game they put it in without supercomputer training having horrible ghosting and trails (dead space remake, cyberpunk on launch, etc). And FSR is basically not even comparable it's just like a lanczos upscale
DLSS isn't trained on the game (not since early versions). Ghosting and trails is only an issue in extreme cases in newer versions of DLSS. If your game has some form of TAA you'll get ghosting and trails anyway with FSR.
>upscaling could actually be a good thing on low tier cards >nvidia gimped everything in the 4000 series but the 4090 and jacked up prices >keep marketing DLSS with their 4090 as if anyone buying one wouldnt be running native settings >jensen outright saying this is the new normal
intel please save pc gaming
the hope is either for the market to completely crash so both parties have to fix their shit or someone inventing a completely different and way better way to do computers so both parties eat shit
AMD sponsored games block DLSS. Nvidia sponsored games usually have FSR and DLSS.
Nvidia even praises modders when they force DLSS into a game, like when it was added to the recent Star Wars game that ran like shit without it.
DLSS might not technically be open source, but they're very open about it being unofficially added to shit. They've changed stance on a lot of proprietary things too, like G-Sync, which can be used with AMD GPUs, and how Nvidia GPUs can use Freesync.
They have a good reason for not letting AMD use DLSS, and that's because it's literally impossible to run on their GPUs.
All AMD does is keep boosting GPU power, undercutting Nvidia by a bit, and create shitty post-process filters pretending to be real upscalers. They have no desire to actually improve their hardware and will simply pay for DLSS to go away.
>AMD does a shitty anti-consumer thing, something all corporations tend to do >175 replies, 21 files and 79 posters of AMDgays reeing about how NVidia users suck corporate wiener and are blind fanboys, FSR is infinitely superior to DLSS which is just NVidia's pale copy, Huang this, brainwashed that, all NVidia users are subhuman, claims that developers actually have to pay millions to NVidia to use DLSS and so on
Jesus Christ. Are AMDgays always like this or is this thread just an unforunate anomaly? I've never seen people this rabid about a PC hardware company before. Even people who buy only NVidia admit their prices are horseshit and the 4000 series is a disappointment.
Because DLSS is evil and FSR is not.
DLSS is NVIDIA Proprietary technology. FSR is open source.
Or

Rest is correct.

And you know how many nV users own those cards?
Less than half.

in other words games with raytracing or high memory bus requirements. dlss/fsr is meant to alleviate the memory constraints on gpus.
I pirated Hogwarts and even on my mediocre 8GB VRAM rig it runs pretty well despite the shit optimization.
ah yes, unlike true upscaled motion blur depth of field gaytraced 480p 30FPS 1y old kekmake for 99$ + tip, lel
FF16 runs at 720p by the way.
in performance mode and its basically a 6600xt. people are buying rtx 4090s and enabling dlss quality 1440p which is 1707x960 or worse than 1080p which is what xbox series s a $300 console runs its games at.
>b-b-but
No tears, only PS3 fidelity now.
You are a real Black person with a fake brain.
>only PS3 fidelity now
Nvidia is giving it to ya
> people are buying rtx 4090s and enabling dlss quality 1440p
No one with a 4090 uses DLSS in1440p unless it’s those meme tech demo real time pathtraced settings.
Consoles are using upscaling too lol. We're somehow on the third gen since companies declared "full HD" consoles and games are still releasing at native 720p sub 60 fps.
they do it tastefully though. quality mode is native 4k or native 1440p. performance mode is upscaled with fsr or checkerboard. but still native or fsr1 is better than whatever dlss quality 1440p ai frickery you enable.
>tasteful upscaling
consoletards really are something, is 15 fps tasteful too because it's closer to cinematic 24fps?
It's almost painful to think the fricking gamecube has more locked 60fps titles than any modern console gen does.
>bc
>performance mode
People want to be able to claim that they can play at 4k/60FPS when in reality their mid tier GPU at best can handle shitty 720p upscales.
So they tell themselves that options like DLSS and FSR are basicly "just as good" as native 4k
FSR is thrash.
Maybe FSR3 will be good, but right now it's trash.
I haven't used DLSS but FSR always looks like shit.
>muh fake frames
Literally everything is programming is "fake".
I don't see you complaining about "fake calculations" when an algorithm does something that would otherwise require a lot of manual computations.
raytracing is fake. so are cube maps and prebaked lighting. but one takes up 1000% more system resources and the other doesn't while achieving nearly similar results. the only differences are time spent making. time is money to these companies so they choose the shorter time route which has higher system requirements.
>while achieving nearly similar results
Stop parroting this meme.
Why did rasterizers initially winp out against ray tracing
nvidia is scummy but gives you bleeding edge tech and makes sure shit works
amd is just scummy
>upscaling
not even once
>proprietary.
FSR is open source like everything that AMD did in the past. DLSS is proprietary like NVIDIA like to have it their way since forever except this time AMD owns the console market so frick you njewdia
Fake pixels for fake persons.
Quite possibly the stupidest OP I've seen this month
FRICK TAA
BLURRY SHIT
FSR works on any GPU until AMD release the proprietary FSR 3 Frame generation which makes up frames like DLSS 3.
I dont even know why people use dlss antialiasing or whatever other random shit out there, every single game looks blurry as frick, why the frick would you use something that make your screen have glaucoma
I don't need to talk about tech with troglodytes who maximize frame rate at the cost of image quality.
yet you still here, techchad, lel
Because the SDK that you use to implement DLSS lets you easily add FSR. Just a matter of adding the libraries and setting a couple values to true.
FSR is implemented in a compute shader you troglodyte. that's like asking why amd lets nvidia draw pixels. homosexual
>ULTRA performance
So it does exactly what it's supposed to?
dlss has ghosting no matter what setting
Stop lying.
>Nvidia fricks over Radeon with shady practices for 23 years
>It’s only when AMD does the same that suddenly gamers care
Amd isn't the one forcing people to pay nvidia for its proprietary dlss
performance > image quality that stopped mattering since like 2016 maybe earlier
imagine having console tier fps just because your moronation tells you to have the biggest number in resolution tab
lmao, classic ayymd. zero innovation, just make an inferior copy of what nvidia does and pay gaming companies to block support for nvidia.
how ridiculous is it that intel is the only hope for competent competition against nvidia on the gpu market, AMD clearly ain't it. we're fricked.
nvidia is blocking support for nvidia by asking for money for their proprietary copy of FSR moron
>you have to pay for their free open source tech
Link me the source code for DLSS, moron
damn that was the fastest someone destroyed nvidiot drones I've ever seen on here
Download unreal engine and scrape it out yourself lazy homosexual. It's built into it and takes 1 click, not even lines of codes to enable it
Why do AMD dick riders always resort to lying? You do understand it just makes Radeon look even worse, right? DLSS doesn't cost a penny to implement and FSR wasn't a thing until years after nvidia announced DLSS so calling dlss a copy is just a ridiculous level of dishonesty, you're attempting to present a completely inverse situation.
>Why is dat when devlopers use da free thing primarily they dont use the paid thing
Gee what a fricking mystery.
why did nvidia force games into having tessellation?
why did nvidia force games into having gimpworks when even their cards struggled to run them and AMD had tressfx and other alternatives?
was it to "improve" games or just frick up AMD performance because a lot of tessellated shit kept running in the background even with the option off?
>it's ok when israelitevidia does it
dont you need to train the dlss per game? with thousands of hours of footage? while fsr just smudges shit on the fly.
No, that was DLSS1 and it was trash. DLSS2 isn't trained on a per game basis. This whole story is still most likely BS, though.
>why is nvidia allowing FSR
Because FSR is on AMD CPUs.
>Why is Nvidia allowing FSR
because after 2 decades of knowing fanboy will buy their cards no matter the gimmicks they just don't care about AMD anymore
>FSR
>works on everything
>DLSS
>only works on NVIDIA
Gee I wonder why Devs are opting for FSR
are you dumb, Black person?
I love proprietary tech consolizing the PC market. I really can't get enough of consumer homosexuals like OP desperately justifying the team they chose with their money. It's so entertaining.
it's other way around, AMD isn't blocking anything, nvidia won't let you put DLSS in unless you put nvidia rtx logo on it
people are confused, FSR is open source and can be put in any game on notification basis
DLSS requires extensive Nvidia cooperation, you need to give nvidia full access to the game, they don't let you simply copy dlls like modders do it
https://github.com/NVIDIAGameWorks/Streamline
You can add DLSS, Reflex without noVideo's blessing.
XeSS as well.
that's just a tool, that's not how corporation relations work
you can't simply add a tech to a game owned by another corporation
I may be wrong about FSR on notification basis, it is probably used for console versions which lets devs add it to pc easily without much lawyer bullshit
You literally can.
Read the license.
Black person you do not understand how DLSS works as a technology.
Its like getting a copy f frontend of some site without having access to the backhand.
people tend to forget that proper DLSS integration involves sending all game assets to nvidia to upscale the textures to 16k for hundreds of hours
>NVIDIA sponsored titles fricking over AMD for decades
>AMD does a half assed job once and the internet loses its mind
Damn, NVIDIA really be like that.
>when nvidia game runs badly on AMD/AMD machine it's AMD problem
>when game runs "badly" on intel/nvidia machine it's game devs suck
i cant believe people actually use these meme techs instead of just buying the proper gpu for their resolution
Only around 20% of gaymers have 3060+ class GPU.
nah, that's from steam surveys
do the math, steam accounts ~150m
20% of it got pretty decent GPUs, other 80% is 1060s and laptops playing dota and other shit
that is a lot of people with decent gpus
i'm so glad this is finally getting traction
been saying for years how anti-consumer they are when they sponsor a game, it's almost a death sentence for the quality of a PC port. They don't work with developers at all and just blacklist all of Nvidia's techs
>for years
>AMD sponsored games ran badly on nvidia only for 2 years
frick off, AMD sponsored meant runs flawlessly only 3 years back
All I care about is that at the moment AMD parts are like at most 5-10% worse than their Intel/Nvidia counterparts but cost 20%+ less, so I'm building my new PC with ayymd parts.
so, now?
7900xtx is $800 faster than 4080
7700x is $350, about as fast as 13700k
In my case I got a 5600, it's slightly slower than a 12400f but it was cheaper when combined with the mobo.
5600 is superior to 12400. at release it used to suck because price was stupid, but now 5600 is pretty good proper 6 core cpu.
Their engineers forgot how to bend silicon.
Depends on usage, Nvidia cards are still much better at raytracing. Any game with full path tracing support will run poorly on AMD cards.
>at raytracing
That's the thing, Nvidia is good at shit I don't care about. I want high framerate 1080 gaymen and don't really care for eye candy, AMD is so much cheaper for that.
Path tracing and raytracing is still a meme
hand baked lightning and dynamic illumination is still better than that
I have strong preference for Nvidia but i do not mind amd doing everything they can to get more share of the market. Nvidia being so dominant sucks for me as consumer.
Impressively deceitful post
Speaqking of NVIDIA
All reviews are out, the 4060 sucks ass harder than the ti version and is also overpriced and full of faulty issues on the long run.
the 1060 will be the last good -60 card ever baka
im not a fanboy since im not poor but FSR sucks compared to DLSS
if a game only has FSR im running it in native res
Because DLSS looks like straight horses ass if not trained on the game first. As seen in every game they put it in without supercomputer training having horrible ghosting and trails (dead space remake, cyberpunk on launch, etc). And FSR is basically not even comparable it's just like a lanczos upscale
modded in dlss looks a ton better than fsr2 in re4 though.
Idiot, no. Only DLSS1 required per game training. I hate Nvidia and here I have to defends its tech because you people are tards, god.
FSR 1 is lanczos-like, FSR 2 IS jittered low res like DLSS 2
DLSS isn't trained on the game (not since early versions). Ghosting and trails is only an issue in extreme cases in newer versions of DLSS. If your game has some form of TAA you'll get ghosting and trails anyway with FSR.
>upscaling could actually be a good thing on low tier cards
>nvidia gimped everything in the 4000 series but the 4090 and jacked up prices
>keep marketing DLSS with their 4090 as if anyone buying one wouldnt be running native settings
>jensen outright saying this is the new normal
intel please save pc gaming
>save me, my great israelite master shlomo goldberg
a mutt used voice to text to make this post
who else is there to hope for? amd clearly isnt doing anything useful.
the hope is either for the market to completely crash so both parties have to fix their shit or someone inventing a completely different and way better way to do computers so both parties eat shit
because nvidia is completely on top, no matter what amd will throw at them, they'll never win even in consumer market
AMD can't into hardware scheduling on 10/11, so no fancy scalers, just a glorified Reshade effect
>AMD does a shitty anti-consumer thing, something all corporations tend to do
>175 replies, 21 files and 79 posters of AMDgays reeing about how NVidia users suck corporate wiener and are blind fanboys, FSR is infinitely superior to DLSS which is just NVidia's pale copy, Huang this, brainwashed that, all NVidia users are subhuman, claims that developers actually have to pay millions to NVidia to use DLSS and so on
Jesus Christ. Are AMDgays always like this or is this thread just an unforunate anomaly? I've never seen people this rabid about a PC hardware company before. Even people who buy only NVidia admit their prices are horseshit and the 4000 series is a disappointment.
What the frick are you talking about? They're anti consumer because they don't have secret knowledge which Nvidia is keeping from them?
