After years, Valve finally updated the regional pricing suggestions.
How fricked is your country, Ganker?
Its either big sale or key reseller for me. Game prices have gone insane.
yeah nowadays I buy more games on the humble store, green man gaming and fanatical than on the steam store, I only buy games directly from steam during seasonal sales
wait they did?
what are the new prices?
Not him but I found this.

For some reason my ISP is cucked on Ganker so I can't post images. If anyone else would be willing to post the chart then be my guess.
>Turkey
>Argentina
HOLY CRACKERS
Mfw I got an Argentinian account to get shit at ridiculous prices and now it isn't even worth it. At least I spent like 50€ on pesos and got the equivalent of 200€.
You should have known that wasn't gonna last.
It's a wonder Valve didn't touch their regional pricing for so long.
Literally same
I can't israelite steam out of their money anymore
Damn argies and turks got fricked in the ass hard. here its 30% increase so not that bad
Increased by nothing for me.
america wins again
Posting it for u. I don't know why we euros get fricked, we had a higher value currency than the dollar and paid the same amount and now that we are on par we get an increase? I don't understand.
Also games here aren't 49'99€
Fricking hell. Just in time for the next global recession.
The euro lost alot of value next to the dollar recently, also VATs make it even higher.
it doesn't help that euros also make less and pay more tax.
Curious. When the euro was worth more than the dollar games were still more expensive. Really makes you think.
>oinkraine is paying even less now
>not only amerishartia is sending billions of dollars them, but makes shit even cheaper for them
nuke America
nuke israelitekraine
>euro
>49,99
This hasn't been the case for at least two decades.
It's not like these dogshit AAA publishers listen to Valve's recommendations to begin with. Even with these price increases the actual prices of the games are somehow even more expensive than this chart.
>Vietnamese Dong
I get Argentina but why the frick is Turkey getting assfricked too? How much of a shithole is it?
Hyperinflation time bud.
Yeah I remember years ago wondering why my American friends were paying $60 for a game and I was paying €60 when my €60 was worth more, and now we have to pay even more? Also it hasn't been 49.99 here for frick nows how long. Good thing I started pirating all my games a few years ago
Most publishers just don't care about Valve's regional pricing suggestions.
At the very least it seems Valve is still sensible to keep everything below the 1:1 dollar conversion rate. It was just a matter of time because of the trajectory the economy is taking righy now.
Not like that's gonna stop publishers though lmao.
>AAA publishers will ignore the new suggestions and still charge an arm and a leg
>Indies won't and their games will go up in price
It's lose lose.
im an indie dev and i just follow valve's recommendations so youre right. but its only expected, theres no way games stay frozen in price while inflation for most countries has been 5%-10%+ for a year or two
>Old price: USD 60 = EUR 50
Valve straight up just lying out their ass, not even their own games followed that. Class-action suit when.
I've just checked Half-Life Alyx and it does follow that, so idk what you're talking about.
So fricking sick of these hohol freeloaders
Cope and seethe russoid
>80%
>Not included VAT
Finally I can stop seething at Yuropoors for paying so little.
>earn 3 times their salary
>pay only 5 bucks more than them for vidya
T. Swiss
Some people are just living their lives on very easy
You get fricked because it’s more expensive to sell things to you. Thank your bvll government.
At least ukraine does get a discount. I for one will gladly pay 30% more so they can get 6% cheaper games
British Pound is incorrect for some reason. We used to pay 39.99 not 46.49. New price is correct though
>Also games here aren't 49'99€
Here's the thing, US prices don't include VAT.
What?? Prices even on the internet don't have taxes added?
There is no uniform tax in the US for online purchases. Each state sets their own tax rate. Hell in my state there is no tax for digital sales yet.
I'm just not gonna buy anything then, what the frick's an 454% increase and how is anyone supposed to be able to afford this crap
i have Judgment and Lost Judgment on my wishlist since it was released on steam and they didnt change the price?
iam from austria btw
No AAA publisher ever actually followed the regional pricing on their new releases in my region since 2020. They charge 59.99 X (currency equivalent to 1 USD) at the time of publishing (rounded off to few units higher or lower to their convenience).
Last time I exploited the regional pricing was when I bought MGSV for a mere 10$ equivalent back when it released on steam. The prices were soon rectified after a week.
>British pound - mere 7.53%
How tf is it limited to 7% bros? I heard the bongs are getting royally fricked by their government, taxes and inflation.
RANDY WAS RIGHT
APOLOGIZE RIGHT NOW
>Epic's investment in technology will outpace Valve's substantially
Didn't it take them years to add a shopping cart?
>shopping cart
I'm not a programmer so could someone explain to me why shopping carts usually cost huge amount of resources to implement?
>Israeli new shekel: 0%
>Vietnamese Dong
>484.62%
Leftist goverment, not even once
>Mexico gets 16% increase
Its not great but it couldve been a lot worse thanks to the fricking moronic mummy we have as president
>global inflation
>uncertain times
>energy costs up
But yeah, sure, you go ahead and rise prices of a LUXURY product and see how far that'll get you.
Fricking morons I swear. Video games will be first to go when people start tightening their budgets. Is Gaben moronic?
Most of the big players on steam havent followed these price suggestions for years now. Nothing is gonna change.
South Africa is fricked.
I haven't bought anything since this happened
I live in turkey
government literally says you should frick off to other countries if you just want good things
you mfers have no idea how good you have it
but then again, I don't think there are that many games I would buy instead of pirating anyways
>Almost 30% increase for PLN
As we are not fricked up in the ass by government enough already.
>euro
>49.99
>implying
we've had the same prices as dollars for years
cowadoody was always hyper expensive, if you play that garbage honestly that's on you, they're more than welcome to exploit the mentally challenged for profit
Why are you just making this up? Basically all AAA releases here have been 59,99 for years, it's just that this generation some publishers decided to raise prices. For example capcom with RE8, SE with FF VII and in this case, Activision with cawadoody..
>Venezuela still not available
I mean tbf minnimum wage here is like $30 a month so you'd need to sell the games at like $.03 to make the affordable.
But then again, digital games are worthless
But then again again, vidya price is arbitrary and publishers are israelites.
But then again again again, the third world's never really been that relevant when it comes to videogame sales
You'll have to update the price on venezuelian steam at least twice a day to follow the inflation
>Go to random game's Page

>Go to checkout

>Pay
>Get charged 40090900.99Bs
>BRL
now i have to sell my kidney to be able to afford living AND still be able to vidya
>Saudi riyal got a 28% increase
>Our economy is still shit with so many emerging NEETs
I'll keep pirating Vidya, ain't paying for shit with the absolute state of our c**try
>47% increase
Hahaha, okay, frick off. I hope P5:Royal gets cracked soon.
It's not like Sega was following regional price suggestions anyway.
The japanese hate 3rd worlders.
>Israel
>0% increase
What did they mean by this?
https://soundcloud.com/couldthisbeanyharder/remove-kebab-with-orchestra
frick, rip turk and argentina bros
>How fricked is your country, Ganker?
They have already been getting more expensive on Steam. Most prices seem same as they were before, but I still wouldn't think that many people would really pay that much for these games, so everyone will stick to sales/resellers as one anon above said.
I'm mexican, some prices are lower, some stay the same, persona 5 royal is 38 dollars here but elden ring is full 60.
>How fricked is your country, Ganker?
My country can't pay for Steam games for almost a year already
Just as the yen is getting raped.
Basically x2
>Nearly every game remains the same
>Rimworld is 25% more expensive
Of fricking course it is. How can one man fit so much israeliteBlack persony inside him?
I will not buy the book.
That doesn't mean anything. I'm Brazilian and many AAA games still get released at 250-300 BRL (~60 USD), only a few of them actually adopt the regional pricing.
>500% + 100% from taxes
AH I AM GOING INSANE
>+67% increase
Honestly hope indie devs don't follow suit, AAA gaming is already almost impossible but if indies get expensive as well then frick it, I will just pirate everything.
Kinda fricked but not terribly. Most big companies don't follow it anyway.
I live in turkey and currency is lesser than toilet paper
so you tell me
even brazil is heaven compared to turkey right now
Highest change was a +20% so not as bad as others. Sure sucks for everyone.
About the same, big publishers didn't follow it anyway, and when an indie decides to be greedy fricks and price their game at a direct 1:1 USD conversion I just pirate their shit.
For these 2 years, I was constantly watching games prices increase slowly, just checking steam pages like a maniac. But this is probably the final nail in the coffin for me. At least some indie devs used the suggested price and some devs just didn't bother following exchange rates so they didn't change their prices. It's unironically over.
Older games are still cheap as frick, are they not? You should be crying about PC parts, not CURRENT YEAR game.
what are you on about? games on steam are massively cheaper than full price usa in other countries.
gotham knights is 55% cheaper in turkey
fifa 23 is 40% cheaper in india
persona 5 is almost 60% cheaper in argentina
I'm mostly talking about Sega games, they dont have regional pricing for my country
Good thing Sega hasn’t published even one good game on Steam.
>doesn't enforce regional pricing
>bumps it up, which even further justifies homosexual devs/publishers ignoring regional pricing and putting a bigger tags
Valve needs to be paid a visit with a shotgun
Remember when people thought digital releases of games would cost less than physical copies? Yeah...
They did for a while.
I made out like a bandit in early days of Steam before regional currencies and taxes got added.
Yeah so?
Then sail the high sea.
Because vpns
why are you not pirating if you live in some third world shithole
Denuvo
>start buying games once I realize that they have reasonable regional prices
>go back to pirating games once they stop having reasonable regional prices
simple'as
The biggest problem these days is games that ignore regional pricing usually have Denuvo attached to them and the only person who still cracks Denuvo is mentally ill. Indie games usually have automatic Steam regional pricing attached to them.
But if you were paying 1st world prices, you'd be pirating.
Motherfricking japanese are awful/master at it.
NEVER REGIONAL PRICING FOR JAPANESE GAMES
regional pricing has always been a horrible concept
we need more obstacles between turd world and white man's world, not less
It's a free market. Volvo doesn't save devs from moronation.
This is so annoying
Western devs still think Taiwan is a 3rd world country so I get to buy cheap games and I fricking love it
but East Asian devs, specifically Japan seems to have this inflated image of Taiwan being a developed country and will price their games accordingly, sometimes I even have to pay more than the japs themselves, which is utterly bullshit, frick this shit
let me pay games with 3rd world pricing
Not even a real country
Just use the standard Chinese rate.
Must be nice being American and having the rest of the world revolve around the dollar.
devs are losing money having to lower their prices for you guys. most of them would rather you pirate the game.
>not pirating everything except multiplayer games
>not buying multiplayer games on key selling websites for half the price
how can people still be so tech illiterate in this day and age to the point where they simply throw away money for no reas-
>some people actually bought the 4090 with the house fire connector
forget i said anything
Frick you butthole, I pay people for their job or product they make, not take it for free or pay for keys acquired with stolen credit cards.
>hurr durr they dont get the money!
Worker at factory don't get the whole money from PC parts you have under your desk and yet you still paid for them. Plus, I don't buy AAA games at all so all those molohs like EA or Activision don't get a single penny from me.
>be third worlder
>earn 1st worlder salary
>can reap every third worlder benefits
>100$ rent, 50$ internet, 5-10$ water, 50$ electricity
>food 50-150$ per month
>real estate is still cheap because chinks cant buy land on my country (have to be citizen)
>$5 water
Comes out the tap brown and makes you sick to even sniff it
lol cope. Go bow to your israeli masters while i get comfy in my apartment
Back to the factory moron
stop being poor
stop being a gay
i used to know a czech guy who didnt have a floor
i cant imagine how real thirdies live
Imagine yourself not gay but with less money because they were born on different soil
Too bad your ancestors were shite then
>has to rely on others and thinks that's what makes him better
>thinks the achievements of others are his own
lol just off yourself
>get any digital payment method from the country you wish your store to be
>add it to steam as the only payment method
>change your store country to that country
done you now have regional prices anywhere in the world
>get any digital payment method from the country you wish your store to be
How?
You WILL pay 1/3 of your monthly income for a remaster of a goyslop movie game and you WILL like it, chud
this is one place EGS has steam beat for me, sometimes shit is as low as 66% off
shame the store itself is so damn garbage that I find myself using it less than origin back when I had EA play on origin
I'm pretty sure they're cheaper in 3rd world than in 1st world.
it has regional prices 🙂
Imagine fricking living in Argentina and Turkey.
More inflation than a Sonic convention afterparty.
no hyperbole - this is literally the equivalent of paying $1000 for a game for the average turk (average monthly wage is less than 10k lira a month). but I'm just visiting so I'll be slurping up tons of cheapies during the winter sale lmaooo thanks erDOGan
publishers are going to adjust the price right after this announcement from Valve
you dont have much of time till winter sale
they have until today to adjust, after that if they adjust it they wont be able to participate in the end of year sales since theres a cooldown period from price changes to when you can discount the game
>they won't give a shit and just don't participate
Can totally see that happening.
those sales easily make the most money you make on the year so most devs definitely want to participate
pretty sure prices are already adjusted. most new games are lot more expensive now, around the 500-600 mark (used to be far less before from what I've heard), with some exceptions at the 1000+ mark like mw2 and coh3.
I've spent a little over a 100 dollarydoos thus far and have gotten so much.
does the switch version have the same problem as the ps3 version when I upscale it?
what games do you want to buy? all the good games are pre 2012 and you can pirate it easy. Also GOG release.
I'm 25 and I still have no idea how inflation works.
the more money supply there is the more expensive things get because theres more money units looking for the same amount of products. couple that with covid lockdowns + war + sanctions left and right and it gets even worse, because then the supply of products decreases while the supply of money chasing this decreasing supply is increasing, increasing prices for everything dramatically
29 here and have no clue about taxes either. Been a NEET my whole life, frick taxes.
When they print more money, every dollar is worth less. However they can delay this affecting prices by limiting how much of that money gets into the goys hands. In this case that lasted about two years before we started to see the effects. Federal reserve tries to control this by keeping interest rates artificially low but that can’t last otherwise we have another 2008.
basically is how the government forces/press you to spend and don't save money to keep the ~~*economy*~~ moving.
In this case, it has nothing to do with ordinary inflation. It's just Steam deciding that it's more important to get the people buying at Argentinian rates to pay the full 1st-worlder prices than it is to vacuum up Turkish and Argentinian pity money.
Kek I can't even buy most of the new AAA games like Persona, Cod WW and other trash. After Russia was sanctioned I unironically got hooked on rpgm games (horrors, hentai and classics) and other indie/AA games I didn't play, they're so fricking cheap and all of the good games are still dirty cheap on steam here.
you know the craziest part of this?
people are shocked by the regional price increase but PUBLISHERS DONT EVEN FRICKING FOLLOW VALVES ADVICE TO BEGIN WITH
so most games are actually way more expensive that the new price recs valve gave
Except Indies and other small groups/publishers who don't give a frick and simply use automatic default ratios because why should they care about some local currency? This leads to higher prices and likely loss of sales but who cares?
It's unfortunately an inevitability. Steam didn't update this shit for years meanwhile in reality the economy was getting fĺushed down the toilet across the world.
Don't even know why it took them so long to pull the trigger.
> gaben recommends selling 60$ games for 1900 rubles now (was 1080)
> in reality they were always 2k rubles
They do
Expect a real price increase proportional to this change. Like this
for example, 4000 ruble games are coming to Russia soon.
>as a third worlder
Existence disregarded.
Who do I blame for the economy going to shit? (Again)
Putin
Putin
Oh, come on, it was my time to post it.
I'll fricking kill you next time I see you near water cooler.
Zelensky
Exclusively bankers all around the world and don't let anyone tell you otherwise.
the ones with tiny hats and large noses
you know who to blame
biden
Stocks. I still blame stocks and associated virtual money that bloat every day.
Chinks and then putin
Our new president is coming, currency will get stronger and games cheap again!
>wondering why twitter lit up
>all the Turkey gaymers pressing F because their last bastion, Steam, has fallen as well after holding out for so long
Maybe don't let your country experience unprecedented inflation year after year.
TR region hopping bros, buy all your shit tonight. The prices are going to increase 5x very soon.
Friendly reminder.
The Epic Games Store hasn't increased their regional prices yet 😉
yet
inflation is fricked dude
theyll follow suit everyone probably will now that steam did it
good morning sir
frick it, i'll pirate everything
How long till the price change today
Are they all going to automatically change price today? Or is it up to the developer?
Let me at least buy some games on thr Halloween Sale you fricking israelites
developers can change it but are not forced to, nor it is automatic
Up to the developer to change it. I think some developers will wait until after the Halloween sale as they can't discount games for 28 days after a price increase (outside of the four major seasonal sales).
>reluctant to buy games elsewhere because of muh collection
damn guess steam got me
did you idiots seriously believe that video games were immune to inflation or something?
this was a long time coming
When the frick have digital goods ever been affected by inflation?
I fricking told you Black folk the lockdowns were going to bend us over a couple of year later.
Just buy it when it hits 80% off on greenman gaming or something.
If you care about money don't buy day one broken aaa release for 70 dollars, pc ain't switch, actual sales do exist
>before: 1 USD -> 500 Chilean pesos
>now: 1 USD -> 620 Chilean pesos
You know, even though it's kind of a bummer that it increased, it ain't that much compared to the actual USD to CLP conversion ratio (which is something like 1 USD -> 980 CLP)
Publishers noticed that argentina and turkey represents a large chunk of the pie chart in terms of country ownership in the past year or so. It turns out that Chinks have been abusing regional pricing on their end making it super easy to change their regions to Turkey and Argentina which is why recently they've reacted by raising prices close to american MSRP and discontinued Turkey and Argentina steam gift cards.
We always knew it.
https://steamcommunity.com/games/1217060/announcements/detail/3292718271334988795
It was just a matter of time until it came crashing down.
The problem was people from 3rd world buying low to sell a bit higher to 1st world, fricking up those prices.
It's all international licensing. Different distribution rights in different regions.
Good thing I still have my old account in hryvnas.
It's kinda funny if you think about it
>So a group of people need something
>People who don't need it are using what we're doing to help them
>Instead of finding a solution, we're disallowing the people who need this system from participating in the first place
There is no other solution, it was a ticking timebomb to begin with.
Cheaters would always find a way to pay in whatever is the lowest currency possible.
I'm not paying 1st world prices as a 1st worlder. Frick this shit.
>tfw Argie
Life good when you earn in bitcoin, just don't tell AFIP
Keep consuming Valve's israeliteslop, idiots.
>turd worlder prices skyrocketed
I would feel bad, but your countrymen are utterly abhorrent ro play with, it's for the best.
>paying
>for digital games
we get it you're poor
why are you guys talking about what you're gonna buy when you don't even know what's gonna be on sale?
t. Clueless console gay that just got into Steam because he bought a deck
because seasonal sales usually cover the vast majority of games
as a first worlder i only buy games on sale for no more than $10. What is that in your country?
in mexico 10 dollars is 200 pesos
There seems to be a huge overlap of third worlders and PC/steam. This thread is a real eye-opener.
No shit moron
When you don't have much money you buy the most efficient gaming platform. Consoletards wouldn't understand.
moron.
Settle down, turdies.
