They're testing the waters with the oldest RPG title. If it sells well, they'll remake the others till sales drop.
So yeah if you want any chance of old paper mario back, buy this one.
yknow at this point I just wish they'd either all in or frick off. the thing that bugs me about modern fricking Nintendo isn't that they play safe, its that their games by design are homogenized for the widest possible audience, and no before some homosexual who was born in the 2000's or very late 90's who never grew up with change in the industry says it, it has not always been this way.
Nintendo's philosophy is "doing something different every time" does still exist, but the core fundamental design structure of their games has become shallow and unexciting with very little mechanical control option depth. A lot of Nintendo's games from the past all the way up to the gamecube era have what is called emergent gameplay. Where the game by design gives the player so many options whether unintended or intended, that they create things for the player to do.
I went on this rant to explain that even if they do bring back "classic paper mario" it wont be the same. It will be sterilized down to its core and be bare bones so morons can understand and will buy it so they dont get scared away by the complexity boogyman. The complexity boogyman that Nintendo avoids at all costs (but sometimes fails) since the Wii and Nintendo DS with kicking screaming and extreme fervor.
If they bring it back I want them to not fricking nerf the game for morons, or leave it dead, PERIOD.
Paper Mario the Thousand Year Door is an objectively bad game liked by objectively bad people. If you're a decent human being then you fricking hate Paper Mario the Thousand Year Door. This is fact.
It's a good game to remaster.
Especially after how Smash did Geno dirty by putting him in as a costume.
My guess is that Ninte and SE have been hashing out how to bring back the series. Looks like it will probably be this remaster and who knows maybe another story.
You really never explore the other dimension that Smithy comes from in SMRPG.
>Especially after how Smash did Geno dirty by putting him in as a costume.
The Mii costume itself was done dirty, when they could have just made it a full helmet instead of the shitty hat versions no one likes
Same thing with the abominations they used for Tails and Knuckles instead of normal fursuit masks
I don't give a shit about convoluted plots, 50 million spells, or needlessly complex maps. I want a fun, charming experience that isn't politicized in any way, and don't feel like doing another Wonderful 101 playthrough to get it.
I hate using asmongold to make an argument, but he's the target audience for it.
He's a boomer with normalgay opinions and he absolutely gushed about it when it was announced.
Don't be surprised if this outsells the origami king.
Ask me how I know you're a 2nd worlder without knowing you're a second worlder. Wash your god damn sheet and clean up your dirty filth game cart you scrub god damn
I finished it for the first time last year after struggling to finish it for over 2 decades and it was still bad
It's simply a trash game. The combat is bad and you spam the same moves every turn. The timing hit mechanic is also more fleshed out in the mario & luigi games
There are tons of games that could do better with more money/time thrown at it. Look at Earthbound, that games looks like an NES game on SNES hardware. That game would've been perfect for remastering.
It's not a great game, but neither is Paper Mario nor the Mario & Luigi series. Every single one is a simplistic turn-based game with very few stats to manage, straightforward gear progression, and low skill ceiling. Fun when you're 10/11, which I imagine is the age most people who like Mario RPG or Paper Mario were at when they first played the games. Almost every single post concerning these games stems from nostalgia, which will be proven when this remake comes out and people who never played the original give it a 6/10 or 7/10. These games have lots of charm, but little depth.
Even some of the best strategy games are completely trivial once you know the OP strats or how to exploit the AI though, at least Super Mario RPG has other merits beyond minmax autism.
Low quality bait
You're insane. Paper Mario is nowhere near as popular as SMRPG. Ganker's wanted Geno in Smash since 2007.
zoomers arn't people
Mario RPGs are healing and what better way to do that than remake the game that started it all

>The game people wanted nintendo to bring back and work with SE to do so isn't loved
(you)
Geno and Mallow are far more interesting characters than "goomba wearing a hat" and "bobomb with mustache"
Definitely more interesting than Furry Minions Cosplaying as Mario Characters
>instead of Paper Mario 64 or TTYD
Zoom zoom, that game was actually shit.
You really need to stop spamming this exact thread every few hours.
so who developed the remake square enix or nintendo?
>square enix
Yes.

I LIKE THAT JUMP!
Paper Mario zoomers when they have to play an actual good RPG
smrpg is unironically one of the best rpgs of all time
You've gotta understand, Genogays are ecstatic to play geno's game for the first time
thats why its good. doesnt take itself seriously at all

>Wonderful 101
you probably watch matthewmatosis too homosexual
Don't know who your zoomer eceleb is Black person. Maybe you can tell me about him while I'm pozzing your trans bussy.
Those mini games are seriously tough. If you dont find all the secret frog coins kiss the best end game gear good bye
PPM 64 and TTYD are timeless and wouldn't benefit from remasters giving them the shit modern Paper Mario style.

Why did i want a remake of a game i have?

good games don't need remakes

earthbound looks great, if you're going to remake one, remake mother 1, that is kinda shit
Not every rpg needs to be an excel spreadsheet menu during fights
YES THEY DO YOU STINKING CASUAL!!!
Why the frick would you remake paper mario? It's a timeless art style that doesn't need a remake.
It took Nintendo only 27 years to release Super Mario RPG in Europe

Who cares? People like these games because of the dungeons/puzzles/platforming, not because of the combat
no one cares about your game paper troony
I mean why remake at all when you can just make new games?
