More like it captured no audience so they're gonna try again. Not the first time for them.
11 always felt like a half-assed product with no real coherent vision on if they even wanted to make a new os instead of just an update for 10. The company has no fricking lead whatsoever and it really shows across their whole god damn product line these days.
Microsoft is so big they have entire wings of the company that don't know other wings exist and have no interaction with them at all, if you ever get a coherent product from Microsoft again it will be as a much smaller company
I know someone that works there. He told me that those morons have upwards of 5 separate teams working on the same fricking thing without any interaction whatsoever. The service he and his team are working on delivering right now is being worked on by 3 other teams as well. They are basically doing the same work 3 times over.
no shit, it forcefully updates and any pc or laptop you buy comes with it preinstalled. normalgays barely even know they can install a new os, let alone know how to do it
>and any pc or laptop you buy comes with it preinstalled
Windows 8 was the same. You seem to have blanked that from your memory. It was still a piece of shit. Windows 11 even has the requirement of needing new CPUs so most people with older hardware couldn't upgrade even if they wanted without buying new or using workarounds to allow it without.

8 sucked but it was still somewhat close to 7 for not being useless. 10 for what it's worth when stripped back is actually usable and mostly stable. If I could remain on 10 for as long as possible I wouldn't complain. 11 on the other hand has so many backdoor and under the hood things that makes it feel like a slog that I'm more sad that this is the future of windows. I'm not interested in linux as a daily driver, but if it comes to that point I can cope- using linux as a server platform for over a decade has been a blessing. I would be more pissed if I had zero computing knowledge and was stuck with being a boomer normie that complains about things I don't understand.
Must be really hard being a b***h though, there's nothing we can do to fix that, you're memory of 8 was just "it sux", mine was in 2011 "oh it's not 7 but it doesn't make me wanna puke like vista did on launch". Hell even xp was absolute fricking trash, no one remembers that part though. 2000 was beyond great though, but as with all versions of windows having proper hardware will make the experience way better.

10 is the same shit as 11 is under the hood. The only things that have changed is the obviously visible stuff. If you're not okay with telemetry on 11 why are you coping as if 10 is any different?
Frick them and their mobile meme.
Each new iteration is becoming more and more mobileshit, I only want a desktop OS for my desktop.
At least I know how to dual boot and use Linux, but the cattle class will influence mobileshit as the new standard for desktops.
>can't convince people to switch to your gimped OS so you make games implement your shitty new APIs that break backwards compatibility
microisraelite is so vile.
That's Steam Deck theme actually. Well the color and window decoration. Plasma theme is Kyzenred. The default dark (if you refer to Breeze) is more grey-ish.
>only just went from windows 7 to windows 11 last month >spend an annoying amount of time getting windows 11 to a usable state and all my games working
frick no
No you won't. If you were going to you would have switched before going to 10 you dumb ass homosexual. You will swallow that mouth full of jizz like a good goy and updoot.
They’re doing this to force the AI meme even harder. You will need “dedicated AI hardware” to run Windows 12 which means it’s going to be guaranteed to be doing some creepy shit that requires AI programs to be running on your PC 24/7. Probably it will be constantly scanning your files to remove “problematic content” such as edgy memes or pirated games, and will monitor your every action you perform on your PC to an unprecedented extent. Only Black personcattle and pajeets will install Windows 12.
>Probably it will be constantly scanning your files to remove “problematic content” such as edgy memes or pirated games, and will monitor your every action you perform on your PC to an unprecedented extent.
You don't need AI to do this moron. Windows Defender already can do this if they cared and has that capability for years now.
i got a laptop that supports win11 because i don't wanna use 10 after it's not supported anymore. but i prefer 10. if 12 is more like 10 and the sys reqs aren't increased then yes.
I guess I have to, I tried running arch again but it feels like I'm completely dependent on Valve to fix compatibility issues with the few games that are even in the Proton ecosystem.
I already switched to Mac as my daily driver when the M1 came out. I have an old GTX 780ti machine hooked to TV and it has Linux Mint that just boots straight to Steam Big Picture Mode.
I'll have to start using those shitty new Windows' at work at some point but I think my current laptop has still plenty of lease time left.
I want Microsoft to fight to force phone manufacturers to unlock the bootloader so you can freely install Windows 12 on your phone Then I'll install Linux on it
I'll stick with 11 for a year or two till it gets some shit fixed/figured out. Same as I did with 7 to 8 (which I skipped) then 10 (which I picked up) to 11 (which I'm using now).
11 is definitely not as good as 10, but because it's the OS that can use the shitty performance/ecore split that intel is loving right now, I'm forced onto it, and you can tweak it to be good ENOUGH.
Honestly my newest build was just because intel shit was on deep cut sale at my local PC shop. 12900ks was under $300 while they tried to make room for the 14th gen (lol). Otherwise I'd probably have gone AMD, just because of the p/e core shit.
Yeah deep discount is plenty fair to keep going blue. I did the same thing for the R7 5800X3D floating around in my motherboard now, it was on sale on Wal-Mart.com of all places so I snagged it.
>shit built into the OS to stop piracy at the hardware level
No, I don't think I will. I'll ride 10 until it's not supported then give up vidya and move to Linux.
>built into the OS to stop piracy at the hardware level
If that's true then it's doing a dogshit job at it since I have 2TB worth of pirated games on my system.
"TPMs will stop piracy!!!!!" has been a fearmongering point since the fricking dawn of TPM technology in 2009 and there is still literally no use-case for it outside of an office environment that isn't... what, Valorant?
Knowing MS’ typical release quality pattern, W12 will hopefully at least address all the complaints for 11. Or they won’t and we’re just doomed to have pajeet code forever since they downsized their American dev teams for DEI.
>windows xp = good >windows vista = god awful >windows 7 = good >windows 8 = utter trash >windows 10 = good >windows 11 = unoptimized garbage
Looks like a pattern to me, moron-kun
If you think 12 will be good, man you’re fooling yourself. They’re chasing the c**ty walled garden approach of apple. Along with constant fricking nagging and mommying, shoving bing and whatever homosexualy, c**ty and intrusive “AI” bullshit down your throat at every opportunity.
They’re making windows worse with every iteration and patch.
FRICK OFF Redmond, it’s my computer. Eat a fricking dick.
Reread my post. I said they’re probably more likely to frick it all up now that they downsized their western software teams. W12 being good is possible since they’ve been known to at least attempt to address main complaints but I’m under no illusion it’s just as likely as it is now as it was eight years ago. They’d need to go back on A LOT policy and infrastructure wise to improve things.
Maybe? I wouldn’t bet on it.. they’re trying way, way to hard to plug their connected services (despite no one really asking for it) bing in your start menu? Cortana embedded everywhere? Xbox gaming bar or whatever? Hard pass.
The only way they could really “improve” windows is scaling all of that back and making a simple and clean OS with none of that total homosexualry. But they won’t, they’re doubling down on it!

Yeah pretty much the only hope is MS somehow getting split off and some based dev there creating a fork with fuller functionality. Like a fully realized W10 or 7 without the gay feature set and encrypted program files.
>They’re chasing the c**ty walled garden approach of apple
how macOS is walled garden? it has a command line with root privileges, a thing that Windows users can just dream of having. software installs are just drag&drop instead of clicking next 9001 times while dodging malware, spyware, telemetry settings and adware
He's never touched a Mac and is confusing it for the garbage that is iOS. Not really a fan of MacOS either here but walled garden isn't a complaint you can make about it.
the only reason Vista is considered bad is because morons tried to run it on toasters. it was an upgrade to XP in every way. it didn't get bricked by its own updates for instance. I know this stuff, I used to work at computer repair shop when XP was the number one and Vista was still new. XP was fricking shit and it was the reason why I learned Linux on the first place.
To be fair to the morons, it was shipped with all kinds of toasters barely able to run it.
Personally I remember pirating it back when and not having any real complaints.
8.1 > 10
(Okay okay, just need to install an add on to fix that queer metro start menu bug that they introduced. And yes, a full screen start menu has to have been a bug, no sane person would think of it as a feature )
>windows 10 = good
The "I was forced to use it so it has to be good now" revisionists are already seeping through the cracks? 12 probably is comign soon then.
the only reason Vista is considered bad is because morons tried to run it on toasters. it was an upgrade to XP in every way. it didn't get bricked by its own updates for instance. yeah it's not the bloated hardware requirements that went from 64 MB of RAM and a Pentium 2 to 1GB of RAM and a Pentium 4. no, it's people's fault!
have a nice day microshill. I'm not gonna waste 4GB of RAM just to run an OS. it's the same cancer with bog lagdroid and ios.
8 was fine. The only ass thing about it was depreciating hardware support for DirectDraw, which meant every pre-DX9 game runs around 20fps max without using a DDraw replacement.
10 is already pushing my patience with c**ty, intrusive mommying by MS. 11, in the extremely short period of time I tried it was a whole other level of completely c**ty intrusion and nagging - and it ran like a pig. Debian in the same hardware absolutely smoked it on performance. (Mini pc used exclusively for streaming from my gaming pc over my LAN).
10 is my last version of windows; gaming is not enough of a draw to put up with the enshittification of windows- and besides proton is largely “good enough”.
Only have experience on the Steam Deck but it's just Debian Linux with a Steam overlay. Works for me, seems extremely vanilla when I switch over to desktop mode
Other guy is mistaking new SteamOS for the old one, SteamOS as on Steam Deck is an Arch distro with Steam and the Discover appimage/flatpak store installed. Same difference really but Debian and Arch are different beasts. "Desktop Mode" is still extremely normie-friendly and Proton runs pretty much whatever the frick you want it to, and if it doesn't run something there's Proton-GE to fix it.
Personally I would stick to the main distros as a newb instead of these fotm fork of a fork of a fork of a forks maintained by some smelly pajeet somewhere in the mountains of india.
Also, it's founded by "fabricators Ltd." (lower case intended), whose thing is to... fabricate products? For... people maybe? Sustainably even. Seems like a real sustainable business model.
I'm sorry that you're underage/stupid/whatever, and with the degradation of the English language opens the floodgates for more and more moronic opinions. You're unable to recognize that and will forever be a plebeian.
I moved to mac for everything except gaming, I am probably going to buy a windows shitbox to play DRM games like Fortnite but otherwise I have no reason to, my mac and Steam Deck work fine.
Is there any way to actually remove all of the spyware, gay flag insert things and the need to login from win 11? I saw tiny11 but is that actually trustworthy?
>Windows 10 is going to be like OSX for Mac, we're just going to slowly iterate on it for years! >in 2024 we already have Windows 11 and 12
I hate Windows so much. I wish there was an alternative for PC gaming
Been running linux for over a year now with almsost zero problems (modding wasnt simple and some random old games didnt work out of the box) but i worry when i get VR stuff next year it may now work 100% with linux and may have to dual boot
It's insane how they're dependent on these handful of applications from 500 years ago. Every time you need to do something a little more advanced on their shitty settings app you always fall back to these interfaces.
Well Mac abandoned the X thing with Big Sur. I never really understood it anyway. They were clearly doing new yearly versions regardless far larger than a typical cumulative windows update.
Your antiquated computer can run Windows 11 perfectly fine, lrn2regedit or run a patched installer. You're bumping into the TPM requirement (that is not a hard requirement) and nothing else.
>Will you use it?
microsoft should make a debloated windows version for "work", windows has so much shit in it, why? i just want my windows to be what windows 7 used to be, an operating system, nothing else, windows 7 was peak windows
No. After W10 I'll likely be switching to linux (with W10 as a second OS). If DCS gets native linux support, I'll switch immediately. I'm sick of windows.
okay but when are we getting an explorer that doesn't fricking take 500 years to load a slightly bigger folder and sort by date?
I'm genuinely on the verge of coding my own fricking replacement
>save picture >click open in folder >explorer freezes for 2 minutes >so fricking annoying I downloaded an alternate shell to avoid that shit entirely
microjeet are truly master coders.
this is on gaydows 10 btw
Windows 11 is such an ugly, buggy, inefficient piece of shit trying to pander to mobile phone audience with its shitty interface that I may unironically consider it. We'll have to see how it turns out though.
Hasn't 11 only just released?
microsoft is going back to yearly releases of windows
Yeah but it didn't capture the mobile audience, so they're gonna try again.
More like it captured no audience so they're gonna try again. Not the first time for them.

A company can only get so big before it's redundant to be so big and nothing can get done, inshallah brother I pray for the death of Microsoft.
complete load of shit that you're pulling out of your ass
11 has the fastest adoption rate of any modern iteration of Windows

you would have to be literally moronic to still use Windows 7 at the dawn of 2024

Frick them and their mobile meme.

At least I know how to dual boot and use Linux, but the cattle class will influence mobileshit as the new standard for desktops.

i am unable to can

New Windows releases will be every 3 years now. They want to avoid another Windows Xp situation again at all cost.
But how will they force anyone to migrate?
by making them shit on purpose
It will just update for you, like windows 10 and 11 did for normalgays
DirectStorage2 will require Win12.

most stuff I tried from DLsite worked with Proton through Steam
they even made Bonga work

>command line shit
sorry, I've had sex before
Then why are you complaining about Japanese games?
Shit theme and shit wallpaper.
Does she have a Bojler for sale in that room anon?
If there was any sign of Windows 12 existing there would be a kernel update in the beta releases. NT kernel hasn't changed since 10.

I haven't owned a computer since 2013
I see no reason to upgrade. I never update my Windows 11 install to begin with.
Is there any cool new features in 11 over 10 even? I could use a system refresh soon.
Only better cpu scheduler which probably doesn't actually matter if you have a cpu which can take advantage of it.
>Windows 12
Please, no. I've already had issues swapping to Windows 11 at work.
what was so wrong with picrel?
literally the best looking gui we've had
It don't look like the apple OS, so it must be made to look like the apple OS
I don't mind the aesthetic of W8-W11 but the fact that they still haven't topped this start menu and yet they keep trying to change it is pretty bad.

Personally I would stick to the main distros as a newb instead of these fotm fork of a fork of a fork of a forks maintained by some smelly pajeet somewhere in the mountains of india.
Which one would you recommend for someone new to Linux?
the most popular one
Linux Mint. if you have to troubleshoot something you can just search with Ubuntu because it's just a refined fork of it t. another anon
Manjaro, which is Arch with KDE Plasma
What
said. And don't fall for the distrojump trap, just learn to use it and tune it up instead of looking for a magical distro that doesn't exist.
Also, it's founded by "fabricators Ltd." (lower case intended), whose thing is to... fabricate products? For... people maybe? Sustainably even. Seems like a real sustainable business model.
Pura pinche gente el señor Unix
why do linux users think theyre special? is it some mental disorder?
You can't even use punctuation or capitalization, frick off ESL.
real esl people do that. native speakers have high iq enough to read properly. thats why you cant even comprehend l33tspeak
I'm sorry that you're underage/stupid/whatever, and with the degradation of the English language opens the floodgates for more and more moronic opinions. You're unable to recognize that and will forever be a plebeian.
>seethe seethe seethe
ok normalgay. didnt read btw kek
Linux users are those emo attention whoring LARP troons from middle school. The difference now is that they user troonix.
This can't come sson enough. I don't want to go back to linux.
128bit OS when
I wanna see 1080fps 16k resolution screensaver
Hell no. Windows 11 for life
I moved to mac for everything except gaming, I am probably going to buy a windows shitbox to play DRM games like Fortnite but otherwise I have no reason to, my mac and Steam Deck work fine.
Is there any way to actually remove all of the spyware, gay flag insert things and the need to login from win 11? I saw tiny11 but is that actually trustworthy?
>Is [thing made by anonymous strangers for people at high risk of committing digital offenses] trustworthy?
Hmm
>answer the question
Or
>critique the question
Ill take your fart huffing as a "no there isnt" answer
>Windows 10 is going to be like OSX for Mac, we're just going to slowly iterate on it for years!
>in 2024 we already have Windows 11 and 12
I hate Windows so much. I wish there was an alternative for PC gaming
Linux actually runs games better now. only reason to stick with PajeetsoftOS is if you are a zoomer who plays new online games
Been running linux for over a year now with almsost zero problems (modding wasnt simple and some random old games didnt work out of the box) but i worry when i get VR stuff next year it may now work 100% with linux and may have to dual boot
incredible image, windows codebase must be such a fricking mess
It's insane how they're dependent on these handful of applications from 500 years ago. Every time you need to do something a little more advanced on their shitty settings app you always fall back to these interfaces.
Well Mac abandoned the X thing with Big Sur. I never really understood it anyway. They were clearly doing new yearly versions regardless far larger than a typical cumulative windows update.
they abandoned the "X" because moving a major version for Apple Silicon made more sense. Big Sur was the first OS they released for the M1
Windows 10 will be phased out in the next 5 years, get ready for Lord Gaben to force you to upgrade to 11 steamies.
10 LTSC IoT is supported to 2032. I don't have Steam because you don't need it installed to get or play any of the games on Steam.
Nope.
My antiquated computer cannot run Win11, yet oddly enough runs all games just perfectly fine.
Your antiquated computer can run Windows 11 perfectly fine, lrn2regedit or run a patched installer. You're bumping into the TPM requirement (that is not a hard requirement) and nothing else.
No. Still running 10. Why upgrade?
I'm honestly considering going full linux PC now after using gaben's handheld.
Gabe better get his together shit together because I'm ready to bounce at this point.
i use 10 and will continue to use 10
No
I have a separate PC with Windows 10 for Genshin and VR games
I do/play everything else on an Opensuse desktop and a Deck.
>he plays phone game on a computer
>likely with fricking kb+m of all things
nope
DS4
Will it come with an anal prove
>Will you use it?
microsoft should make a debloated windows version for "work", windows has so much shit in it, why? i just want my windows to be what windows 7 used to be, an operating system, nothing else, windows 7 was peak windows
there is the enterprise version for work use. and you should check out AtlasOS. it's a mod for Win10 that removes all the bs
im always 1-2 versions behind
no
Windows 10 till I die
No. After W10 I'll likely be switching to linux (with W10 as a second OS). If DCS gets native linux support, I'll switch immediately. I'm sick of windows.
as long as I can still create a local account
>Will you use it?
No. israeli OS.
I'm terrified of updating my bios and fricking everything up so I'm staying on Windows 10.
I'd really like to think I'll be done with Windows once I'm done with Windows 10.
Windows 10 will be my last Windows. After that I'm finally biting the bullet and going Linux full time.
you said that in 2006
No I didn't.
Once 10 is no longer any usable I'm going back to linux
okay but when are we getting an explorer that doesn't fricking take 500 years to load a slightly bigger folder and sort by date?
I'm genuinely on the verge of coding my own fricking replacement
>save picture
>click open in folder
>explorer freezes for 2 minutes
>so fricking annoying I downloaded an alternate shell to avoid that shit entirely
microjeet are truly master coders.
this is on gaydows 10 btw
I ain't touching 12 after how much shit 11 broke/changed for the worse from 10.
Not gonna install troonix in million years
then stop b***hing and buy a license for 12
No thanks, still using windows 7
>buying
Just bat it up bro
>11 still a wreck of a barely-usable beta
>12 coming in 6 months
frick no lol
Windows 11 is such an ugly, buggy, inefficient piece of shit trying to pander to mobile phone audience with its shitty interface that I may unironically consider it. We'll have to see how it turns out though.
>Still on Windows 10.
