What you described fits for a world leader. It's a piece of work, a task that you do to serve people of a nation, and world leaders are usually given a salary for their service to a country. Even if it wasn't a job, it's a specific role that you take, a specific role. Empoleon is as much of a character (probably more-so) than Greninja

But Gen1 invented jobmons. They have: Uri Geller if he yellow, a literal body builder/wrestler, literally my mom's kickboxer, a regular boxer, a yellow hypnotist, and literally just a mime.
This image is from /vp/ and it's good to be simpler. I'm tired of people who started Gen 3+ calling Gen 1 designs bland because they don't have a bunch of attachments and random colors slapped on to them.
This board will try to convince you that newer designs are objectively designed differently than older ones but the moment you say that Gen 3 or 4 is just as different from those as they are Gen 1, they say "nuh uh"
Empoleon as it is currently designed would be more likely to be made in Gen 9 than Gen 1
My line for a jobmon is if the job is tacked onto the initial concept, despite having no relation to it. Empoleon wouldn't be a jobmon to me because it's a pun on emperor penguins, which are a real animal. Foxes aren't magicians, cats aren't wrestlers, rabbits aren't soccer players, etc.
Yes, I'd love for Gen 6+ starters, which are the ones with jobs, to lose them and look better.
