In all honesty the game is amazing.
fighting Gleeoks while underleved is seriously a dragons' dogma beat.
They even have the adaptive music when they are down
I dont get it. Do i just not have the nostalgia for this sort of thing?
I don't think it's about nostalgia tbh. The game reminds me of other games i liked but it stands on its own, imo. Maybe it's just not for you ? Maybe you would rather do other things with your time ? When it comes to art & games it's ok not to like some things that are still very obviously well crafted.
Honestly, what the fuck is there even to do in this game that keeps you busy for an entire year? Just look at and tell me how this open world checklist shit and general busywork is any different than in those dozens of other games that constantly get shit for this kind of crap. And no, being able to build a few structures and yo dawging together a few weapons doesn't change that the world is otherwise empty as fuck.
For BotW I used the physical map that came with the official guide. Even unfolded, the individual seed positions were tiny and I didn't want to mark them and ruin the map, so I had to constantly compare it to the in-game map to check which seeds I was missing. I have TotK's official guide coming in the mail too, but this time I'm definitely saving mysefl the hassle and using an online map with tagging features.
All of the game's "content" is ubisoft bloat, the fucking shrines and finding koroks under every rock.
It's not "content", that's just wasting your time
>inb4 snoy
Yes, I know how much tendies love projecting about Sony and find it amusing its probably you subconciously knowing you're on the same layer of garbage as Snoy
>solving puzzles
Oh, you mean putting a square block in a square hole? >exploring
Oh, you mean climbing ubisoft towers and checking off dozens of shrines?
I think you should update your shitpost, it doesn't work for TotK when it has a billion caves, sky islands and the underground with unique rewards like outfits, treasure maps, battery crystals etc. You should tell me how those don't count either.
And everything is just empty space with ubisoft bloat and random crap.

catalog is full of Zelda articles, porn and shilling
how do you have to play if you are doing nothing but shilling this game?
>catalog is full of Zelda articles, porn and shilling
Almost like this is one of the most well-known and popular game franchises in existence. Mysterious.
GTA, Minecraft, Tetris and Fortnite are bigger but we don't see a lot of porn and shill threads for them.
only tendies do that because they don't play video games
In all honesty the game is amazing.

I have hundreds of hours of Dragon's Dogma anon. This game actually has a lot of DD beats. The darkness in the depths, the gleeoks, the healing in the menu while paused, the climbing some monsters, etc.
When it comes to gleeoks there's a lot that reminds me of the permaflight drake species , and of the whole game.
>Take your buzz words, your paid blog ads and go fuck yourself.
Get off this fucking site you're seeing shills in your dreams
he didn't say it was necessarily. DD is one of my favorite games and I get where he's coming from, the dynamism of stuff like the Flux Constructs gives me a similar sense of fun.
gleeok fight spoilers the last phase was the killer for me because the ice blocks killed me in one hit even if it was full. I had to use double springs + wings on arrows to be able to down it fast enough.
I tried this 3 times and died 3 times, either because icicles kept falling on me while riding up, or the icile was too not at the right place to hit the drake. springs worked the first time and also sped up the rest of the fight.
I'm already bored out of my mind after 15 hours, can hardly even find the motivation to turn the emulator on. Building things is tedious, the combat is awful, the shrines are repetitive and the underground is just as disappointing as the overworld. Also the sky islands are template copy-pastes with very similar shrine puzzles, it's just as repetitive as the first one. Seeing the almost universal praise this game gets makes me feel like I'm some kind of space alien.
The hero’s path? Yes but you have to unlock it, I think you have to do Josha’s quests before Robbie will move to Hateno to upgrade the Purah pad. It still records everything you did beforehand though
and to unlock that Josha quest, you have to do 1 of the 4 temples
i was 80 hours in and 98 shrines before i finally got around to doing a temple and getting the shrine scanner
Tried to do a quest yesterday, spend 3 hours running around because i kept seeing things that caught my attention, haven't done the damn quest yet. Maybe today.
BotW on steroids. >I'll go to the town over there >I'll just check this cave in the meantime >I ascended close to the region's tower, might as well activate it >I can reach those sky islands after shooting out of the tower >is that a chasm below? I'll just go to the Depths and grab the treasure marked on the map I got on the island >I went off in a completely different direction while catching poes and activating roots >what the fuck was I doing?
Game is great but most side content is legit mmo tier trash that isn't worth doing. Way too many "fetch 10 tomatoes for me hero of hyrule please" quests
The side quests are generally way better than in BotW though overall. The fetch quest ones mostly seem to be repeatables which serve to trade resources
150h in, the map menu says I'm only 50% done.
I beat the story, did 106 shrines, got like 98 koroks and got around 60% of treeroots
I dont get it. Do i just not have the nostalgia for this sort of thing?

As someone who grew up playing Zelda, this game offers 0 nostalgia for the series.
The other 50% is koroks

Is it true that there are 1000 Korok seeds this time
NTA, yeah, but you only need about 400 to max the inventory.
I wonder who'd the first to be insane enough to get all of them legitimately.
For BotW I used the physical map that came with the official guide. Solving puzzles and exploring are fun. That's the premise of the entire game.
>solving puzzles

i really hope the map % is more than just koroks and named locations this time
In all honesty the game is amazing.
fighting Gleeoks while underleved is seriously a dragons' dogma beat.

It's nothing like Dragon's Dogma you dull generic fuck. Take your buzz words, your paid blog ads and go fuck yourself.

I just fought my first Gleeok a few hours ago, it was more intense than I expected.
It was mine too !
gleeok fight spoilers the last phase was the killer for me because the ice blocks killed me in one hit even if it was full. I had to use double springs + wings on arrows to be able to down it fast enough.
lol dumbass just use recall on the fucking icecicles and ride them up to the gleeok holy shit.
I tried this 3 times and died 3 times, either because icicles kept falling on me while riding up, or the icile was too not at the right place to hit the drake. springs worked the first time and also sped up the rest of the fight.
Yeah springs make gleeok easy mode, instant free airtime every time.
Stop shilling your dogshit blog, Paul
I couldn't even get 40 hours in before dropping it.
Cool, nobody cares, go back to creaming yourself over Shitden Fart
I'm already bored out of my mind after 15 hours, can hardly even find the motivation to turn the emulator on. one seed one content
one sign one content
one shape one content
does it have the the path rewind feature? its one of my favorite features. any other games with it?
The hero’s path? Yes but you have to unlock it, I think you have to do Josha’s quests before Robbie will move to Hateno to upgrade the Purah pad. It still records everything you did beforehand though
50 hours in and you just reminded me i should do those pad updates while i can take advantage of them. keep getting sidetracked with other stuff
and to unlock that Josha quest, you have to do 1 of the 4 temples
i was 80 hours in and 98 shrines before i finally got around to doing a temple and getting the shrine scanner
that's weird they made it unlockable it doesn't effect any gameplay it's just an automatic note taking thing like a journal
Tried to do a quest yesterday, spend 3 hours running around because i kept seeing things that caught my attention, haven't done the damn quest yet. Maybe today.

Yeah it just feels good to go for a walk and get sidetracked. The game is so dense on a moment to moment basis.
>Game has infinite content
>They don't realize that they are in a jesuit skinnerbox loop
Game is great but most side content is legit mmo tier trash that isn't worth doing. Way too many "fetch 10 tomatoes for me hero of hyrule please" quests
The side quests are generally way better than in BotW though overall. The fetch quest ones mostly seem to be repeatables which serve to trade resources
I'd say it has 60hs of content, everything else is just repetitive tasks
I'm a week in and beat every temple. I also a full time job. What are these autistic on about.
yeah, I love keeping the same sign standing over and over
or moving a korok over and over
so much to do!
Fuck off, Paul.
I preferred BotW, and I didn't finish that one either.
>pointless fetch quests bad
>Nintendo fetch quests good
It's sad.
>tfw every time I pick it up to play it a little I end up going for hours and hours and forgetting to sleep
Genuinely addictive.
Tacit admission that Switch has no games.
I'm 90h in and only done 1 dungeon
There is just to much to do in this game
