You may not like it, but the peak of RPG gameplay is when players and enemies throw an ungodly amount of buffs and debuffs everywhere.

That's not really a thing outside MMOs and high level dnd/pathfinder.

Of course raid buffs are peak gaming. I always loved coordinating innervates and mana spring totems mid fight.

Still, it's the signature class play style being buffed that really makes it fun.

            you're both moronic
the system presently in use is 10 times streamlineder and sufficiently customizable than goon pages and assteries

            >ghostcrawler working at blizzard
            >shitcans old talent trees for a system where you pick one of 3 because it's easy for devs to check pickrates and balance off that data
            >ghostcrawler goes to riot
            >shitcans old runes/masteries for a system where you pick one of 5 choices because it's easy for devs to compare pickrates
ghostcrawler was an absolute cancer for game development
i don't have any info on his time working for aoe2 pvp but I bet he fricked up something there as well

So the very second actual rpg was thrown over for le e sports raid leading nerds is known to posterity. At least we learned the right side of history while observing metastatisizing.

was changed from a strategic/tactical real time game into an ungabunga fightfightfight game because that's what the chinese prefer. They literally broke a lot of the strategic elements of the game because it made the more strategic and forward thinking koreans perform too well compared to the chinese, whose strategy was to just mindlessly fight at all times and hope they dodge enough skillshots to win.

          >When wow made sense on the way to some actual form of actual RPG builds and looked kino with backgrounds to differentiate jimbob from joebob warrior

They have destroyed everything good that ever was about WoW like they went through it with a comb to get out all the fun lice. I will never understand how blizzard fell so far.
          >dei/esg, and simping hipsters

Well, yes, but even that explains only so much.

One minor bad part of Granblue Relink is that it's clear it was in dev hell because it's like a time capsule where there's a conspicuous lack of many popular and/or lore-centric characters introduced in the last 5 or so years, but it's also missing a lot of the creativity (insanity) of powercreeping.
